We stopped in for lunch on a trip up to door county after finding this place on Yelp. Food: pizza was hot and good with a great tangy sausage on our pizza. The Cesar salad was plenty for the three of us to share and was really good. Chicken Parmesan sandwich was just ok. Service: restaurant wasn't too busy and we were seated on the large outdoor patio. Service was a bit on the slow side-fairly long wait before we saw our waiter, slow on pop refills and slow with the check. Bottom line: decent food but service could be better.

French Dip with fries...this was delicious and the cheesesteak is just as scrumptious.

Definitely not overrated. My wife has been going to Luigi's for years and telling me how good the pizza and sandwiches are. Now I "always" trust my wife's best judgement so I was not surprised by my dining experience. This being said is Luigi's doing anything crazy unique? Probably not. Are they using some new technique or ingredients I have never heard or? Definitely not. But the food is good. The portions are good. And the price is fair. No complaints and I will be back.

In my opinion this is the best pizza in Shawano. It's always packed on weekends so it's hard to find a parking spot.

I don't think so, but they have gluten free pasta that some people in our family, who are gluten free, like.

Ambiance: cute, cozy and intimate lighting which is perfect date night vibe and there were still some bigger parties accommodated. Arrived and it was packed and still not very noisy. Service: Nick was awesome! Knowledgeable, friendly and personable. There's a level of pride in the work that he does that screams unreasonable hospitality (IYKYK) and paced my courses out beautifully. Wine recommendation was on point and attention to others didn't lapse. All tables felt his presence. Food: House salad was easily the best red wine vinaigrette that I've ever had. The garlic was the perfect kick. Scallops appetizer were sweet and perfectly cooked through and the spinach/basil cream sauce that was under and surrounded the dish was amazing (and I don't or at least didn't think I liked basil!). For dinner I hate the halibut and mushroom risotto which was cooked to perfection. The risotto does have onions which I missed and didn't care for but they took care and offered me a separate bed which I thought was incredibly nice. For dessert I had the chocolate cake which was delicious. Coffee/espresso hints and perfect texture of cake to filling. I will be back for sure!

I've been meaning to come here for a while and have heard rave reviews from friends and family. I…read morewas happy to hear that my wife secured reservations for us and another couple to try the restaurant out for the first time. Being the former Basil restaurant space, the interior is more intimate, darkly lit and a sure romantic spot for date night. The waitress was prompt and helpful selecting drinks off of their menu, inclusive of wine, beer and craft cocktails. Everyone at our table ordered a different drink or glass of wine and there were no complaints. For appetizers I ordered a bruschetta, which was served on a very crispy slice of seasoned bread. What was interesting was that the tomato topping (which was perfectly seasoned with basil, garlic and other spices) was served in a bowl on the side to allow everyone to top to their taste preference. It was a nice touch. We also sampled the cheese curds, which held up well to our Wisconsin standards, and a soup which I can't remember the name of but got high marks. Now for the main course. I was not expecting to be mind blown, by my god. The namesake dish, the Osso Bucco, was absolutely phenomenal. The veal was literally falling off of the bone and was easily, effortlessly separated with a fork. I have rarely had meat this tender. On the other side of the bowl was a fantastic risotto and a perfectly seasoned stew of carrots and onions. I did not indulge in the bone marrow, but I have heard it is a delicacy. Altogether this dish was worth every penny, and I will absolutely be having it again. To finish off this fantastic meal we opted for the tiramisu, which was elegantly plated in a creative manner I have never before seen. I enjoyed the wonderful ending to this delicious meal, and when you visit this restaurant I'm sure you will too.

I had the seafood stew, and it was quite underwhelming; it was more of an under-seasoned pasta dish. The bay scallops and shrimp were pretty tough and overcooked, BUT whatever whitefish was in the dish was outstanding. My hubby had a Caesar salad and the scallops entree. Both were wonderfully executed. The dressing on the salad was the perfect amount, lettuce crisp, and just plainly done well. And the scallops were perfect. Elaboration would take away from what was just 'muah.' :) Server was attentive, but not overly pushy. Ambiance was low key, quiet, and warm.

Nice variety of drinks for everyone as well. The dining area is comfortable - not large, but not tiny. There is kind of an exposed kitchen where you can see some people in there. Casual, perfect for a family gathering. Food Something for everyone. Like I said, this is casual Italian dining. A few different pizza crust options - even a Gluten Free one! I enjoy their traditional thin crust the best (but I tend to prefer a thin crust. This isn't the best pizza on earth, but I don't expect that from an Italian restaurant like this. They don't do just pizzas. Solid pizzas though, with lots of variety for toppings. They have some good pasta options, too. Can't go wrong with their baked mostaccioli. Good apps, too! Their apps are definitely like bar-food type apps (lots of fried options). But they'll do the trick. Service Good service - always pretty quick for food and everyone is attentive!

The pizza has scallions, pesto sauce, and balsamic glaze in addition to chicken, mozzarella, and tomatoes. It was a great combo. I did mark it down because service was a bit slow, but I do recognize that it was very busy and there were many large groups ordering around a similar time. The inside is nothing special, but it does have an old school American Italian feel, which is homey.
