The food was good and very reasonable. Our server, Brooklyn was very attentive. It's a nice family atmosphere.

What a gem!! We wanted to stop on our way back to Michigan and grab a quick lunch. Page was our waitress and what great service recieved. Page was the best server we've had in years of dining. What a sweetheart. Lots of parking and shwanano's is right off the highway and a must stop. My BLT Club with fries was the best I've had and I've had them all over this country and many other countries. Love the interior design of the inside of the restaurant and the way they separated the bar area from the restaurant was a nice touch. Great ambiance. A must stop if you're in the area. Highest price in town. For average food. Had a burrito on Tuesday, the worst ever end up with diarrhea .

Order tips over potatoes and I didn't know mushrooms was on it told server and switched my order to a burger . Then server came back and said we still have to pay half of it and everyone knows all tops usally has mushrooms on it . Talked to me like I was stupid and server should of explained to me since it was a special. It look like slop on a plate and my husband ordered the same and it was watered down gravy and tasted horrible and paying 21 bucks for I could got a better frozen dinner that tasted better. Roadside cafe with a huge menu that includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service was friendly and the food was good, Large building that had this diner on one side and a separate bar on the other. They do sell drinks in the diner. I think the bar is only open at night (unsure of hours). It was lunchtime, but today I was looking for breakfast. I ordered the 3 Meat Skillet. It came with meat, hash browns, 2 eggs and toast (or pancakes). The skillet was huge and I loved the hash browns (lots of them too). Location is great for travelers, right off the Hwy and service is quick and the food is good! read more

Went on a Sunday, about 11:45, got seated immediately, waited 20 minutes without being acknowledged so we left. Been here many times and never had this happen before. Lots of staff walked by including the owner. Guess they have enough business where they didn't need ours. read more

On September 10, 2025 Our first time here and maybe our last? The place was packed! The food was very good and proportionate for the prices. The server was so rude to the point of us almost walking out! Trying to give her grace because she was taking care of a large group playing BINGO after they ate! Why would BINGO be allowed at such a crucial time of day? Anyway...I told her my silverware, which was wrapped in a napkin, was soaking wet! Her response? "Ok". It was my friend who asked if she could bring me a new set and she just snatched it out of my hand and went and got another and gave it to me annoyingly. My friend mentioned the table being sticky and could it be wiped off a bit better and the waitress touched the table a few times and did nothing. There was dried up spilled coffee which I proceeded to try and clean with a tissue from my purse. Again, we were trying to be understanding of whatever was going on with her but being that it was our very first time here! We're not sure we'll return. Visiting from out of town & this place is a decent restaurant to stop at if you're looking for some food! The place was pretty hopping when we got there so hostess couldn't give us an estimate of how long it would take for our party of 6 to be seated. It took no more than 10 mins for her to come grab us saying the table is ready. We ordered pretty quickly because we were starving & the food took a while to come to us. They forgot the chicken on my pecan strawberry salad (which she brought out right away once we mentioned something) but it was light & refreshing! The pancakes tasted DELICIOUS just by themselves too. The overall ambiance is like a small town cafe, lots of old timers & friendly staff. I didn't think too much as my sister drove up to the cafe for us to grab breakfast. After entering the restaurant I was impressed with the size and style of the restaurant. We were greeted promptly and told that there is open seating. We found a booth and got comfy. Everyone seems to know each other which made it comfy for me. Our waitress was " Sandy"! She definitely sets the tone for friendliness, professionalism, and wit. The menu had tons of selections but I narrowed it down to the "scrambler" which is an option under the lighter side of the breakfast menu. It is comprised of egg whites, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and avocados. I substituted grits for my hash rounds and had fresh fruit versus toast! I also went all out and ordered pancakes with a pineapple mimosa. My sister ordered french toast and eggs. Sandy, was so pleasant and the food was out in no time. My food was tasty without being too bland or too salty. I must say that this was the best restaurant that I visited during my stay in Shawno! read more

Took my sister to lunch there today. We had positive experience with the meatloaf recently! ..... today it was Taco Tuesday lunch specials. We wii NEVER go back to eat Mexican food at Shawano Cafe. Sister's tacos were made in big ol' retail boring white tortillas. White, thick and heartless. She said the meat filling wasn't flavored right either. I had the Chimichanga. I swear it was a boring chicken wrap with an American filing and a couple of slices of cheese on top hiding the fact that it wasn't deep fried like real Chimichanga are. Never ever again. Shawano Cafe is one of the better spots in the area, but I'm getting my international foods elsewhere. read more

Katie was kind enough to host our funeral luncheon for my mother. She closed off a portion of the dining room for our privacy and had everything ready to go when we arrived. We had about fifty friends and relatives join us for lunch and with a little soup serving help (I understand help today is hard to find) things went well. Honestly the chicken dumpling soup was some of the best I've ever eaten. We had arranged for bars for dessert but a little snafu resulted in pie Katie handled the arrangements leaving us to tend to more important matters. Well done! read more

Had amish pie for dessert and was so disappointed. I don't know, I guess I was expecting natural, homemade ingredients? These pies tasted like any commercial processed desserts. Cream topping was not real, cream filling was like pudding, tasted boxed. When you hear Amish don't you envision Natural by hand with all natural real ingredients? I'm pretty familiar with cafe food and I hate to make a bad post but this was not good. I will say the staff was welcoming and kind. Normally I would brush it off as an off day but I don't think that's it in this case. My kids had the cheese crepes with strawberries. I was expecting the strawberry pie filling. What we got was some electric red filling that tasted of cough syrup and tin. My husbands gyro was the most dried out, anemic looking diner gyro I've witnessed. It was like goose jerky. No one finished their food and my daughter actually got sick after we left. Look elsewhere for a meal. read more

Poor service, 5 min just to get asked what drinks we wanted(2 coffees). They came in the smallest cups so after a few minute we were empty, our food came out before we even got a refill(10-15min after empty). stuffed French toast was ok, but not anything special. Hash browns were half burnt half barely cooked. Dont recommend this place. read more
