First of all, this used to be an Italian restaurant. When it reopened as a breakfast place I asked if the reason they kept the same name was so they didn't have to pay for a new lit sign, and I was told that was correct--makes sense as those signs aren't cheap. The problem here is that in keeping the same name the reviews and overall rating reflect both the previous Italian and the current breakfast restaurants, which doesn't provide a realistic overall view of it. It's also why it's still being reported as closed. This might be more of a Yelp problem but it's still nevertheless a problem. Regardless, I gave two stars and that's being generous. The waiter was friendly and the service prompt but that's only a small part of the equation. The main breakfast dishes contain four eggs which sounds generous but really, who eats four eggs in one sitting? The only "light" options are for "seniors and children"; there was no omelet offered there and those options are only for one egg. Weird that the choices are too much or too little. I was able to ask for a two-egg omelet and the waiter was gracious by offering me a $2 discount though the cook still used four eggs. That would have been fine but what I got wasn't a traditional omelete as everyone knows it. I asked for link sausage and swiss cheese and it was really a kind of scramble--it wasn't an omelet at all, it was flat and the combination of eggs and cheese seemed to lead me to believe that the eggs may have been underdone. There was either way too much cheese or it was of inferior quality (maybe both). Either way it was unappetizing and I barely ate any of it. For a breakfast of this size I would expect two pieces of toast and got only one. I asked for the hash browns to be crispy and they weren't. My wife got the senior scramble with cheddar and bacon, and the menu wasn't clear about the meat--she thought the bacon would be on the side but it was actually in the scramble. She said it was just ok. With the tip it came to close to $50 (with two cups of coffee, which was ok), which is still too much for a breakfast that was lacking in quality. The menu is enormous and the other breakfast and lunch items sounded interesting, but this first experience doesn't instill a lot of confidence for anything else they offer, to me at least. Readers may feel differently based on the other, more positive reviews for the breakfasts seen here but based on this visit we probably won't be back, and if nothing else be forewarned that what they call an omelet just isn't. read more

It looks like a charming old town Italian restaurant. Service - 4/5, very attentive and warm. Food - 4/5. The chef used to be a baker apparently. Their garlic bread is so scrumptious. Their calamari in tomato sauce and carbonara were pretty good. The tagliatelle with wild mushrooms were very tasty. Their house wine, Chianti and Sauvignon Blanc were both good, too! We came for a spontaneous weekday dinner since the power at home out for hours. This place is cute little gem in Redmond Ridge. They were understaffed but still provided good service with great food. For example fettuccine was definitely over cooked far from Al dente. The salad was also just okay and was similar to what you find in a box at a convenient store. 3 times we've tried to order to go food over the phone and every time the order was wrong and we either have to wait 20-30 mins because they missed something on the order for it to be actually made or call and get some kind of compensation for not actually getting the food. Pretty good Italian fare. Had their pear and gorgonzola ravioli and chanterelle tagliatelle. They were both very good. Service was a bit slow and they charged for 2 drinks, when we had only one. But, they fixed it once we pointed out. Good place to visit if your in the area. read more

Really cute new Italian place on the Eastside! The ambiance inside is very rustic and cozy, making this a great place for date night. I tried the Mushroom Ravioli and it was both tasty and filling. The dishes are definitely a bit overpriced for what they are, but not outrageous. read more

Maybe it was a Tuesday and they did not have their A-game going and their first-stringers working. That said, we were literally the ONLY customers at 6pm. Service, while executed by a very nice and friendly person, was very slow, unpolished (handing us our hot dishes, picking up wine glasses by the bowl to pour pre-measured servings, for example) and only being reactive (not proactive) to our requests for water, olive oil, etc...again we were the only ones there. Our party of 4 all ordered different dishes, all of which were bland and under-seasoned. It's clear that they did not even salt the pasta water. The eggplant parmigiana itself was actually pretty decent, though the accompanying plain, un-sauced spaghetti and steamed broccoli and cauliflower were just "there" with no real flavor or purpose. Came here for dinner on a Saturday at 6:30. There were many tables already filled. It's a small restaurant trying to be elegant. There are white table cloths which usually is a reason I don't pick a restaurant because the prices are higher and yes they are. It's a nice meal if you want something special but if you go out often it's too pricey. The food is delicious. The service is adequate. The complimentary bread is to die for- it has a olive oil wetness with the right amount of garlic I guess. I could eat a basket of that by myself! We had ordered the spinach tortellini and the pear/gorgonzola ravioli which is pictured here. This dish was very good. The spinach tortellini was okay but wouldn't order it again. This was my first time here. We decided to try it for Cinco de Mayo. When we arrived, the place had three tables of people. When we were leaving, they had quite a few waiting for a table. The menu, while not as expansive as some Mexican restaurants, had a good variety of dishes. I chose the pork carnitas and my husband had the shrimp burrito. I tried the beans and rice first. I was struck by the flavors I tasted. I even remarked to my husband that it was delicious. I tried each individually and discerned that the main flavor profile came from the rice. It was delicious. Then I tried the pork. It was crispy, juicy, and tasted authentic. My husband's burrito was very tasty. It was filled with prawns, not tiny shrimp. The red sauce was flavorful, not overly spicy. It was extremely well-cooked. The salsa and chips were good. The chips could have been warm. We usually need to order pico de gallo as most of the salsas are too spicy. This was roasted so lots of flavor and the spice hit the front of your tongue and then tapered off. It was very good. My raspberry margarita was amazing. I'm not a drinker but ordered this on a whim. It had a lot of alcohol but you couldn't really taste it. The drink was my favorite part. I will have another one the next time I go. They also serve breakfast which I will need to try. My only hesitancy in giving a 5-star review, besides the cold chips, is that the service was slightly slower than I like. Many great reviews on Yelp and some of my Facebook peeps. So I was expecting to have a great meal -- but I was underwhelmed by the food and service, and also the state of the women's restroom. It seemed a bit understaffed - we stood at the entry for several minutes before being acknowledged and seated. Once seated it took about 8-10 minutes for water and drink orders. The menu's printing was hard to read because it was dark inside; several people close to us used their phone flashlights to read theirs. I ordered one of the specials - pesto linguini with shrimp and my husband ordered shrimp scampi. Both were overwhelmingly salty, as was the bread which was soft on the inside but a little burned on one crust. Instead of dipping oil, the bread was salted with garlic salt. It took easily 15 minutes to finally get our bill and we had to flag him down at that -- enough time for me to use the restroom. The sink faucet seemed old and loose which surprised me for such a new restaurant. The soap dispenser was empty but there was a plastic bottle of soap, and the paper towel dispenser was empty with a new roll just placed at the top. I guess I was expecting a better overall experience. It's good to try new places once in a while, but the next time we want Italian food we will go to Toscano's in Monroe, where I've never been disappointed. read more

Forgot to bring us bread to have with our wine and then brought it after bringing the entrees. Never stopped by the table after bringing the bread so one of the persons in our party got up and walked over to the counter to get some Parmesan cheese which was the stuff that comes in a can. Not very fresh. Ambiance not much. I would suggest cleaning your dirty windows that face the parking lot. I could not tell if all the smearing was on the inside or the outside. Chairs could be more comfortable (less creaky), but I'm being picky for what was otherwise a savory meal and an outstanding experience. House/Garden salad was fresh though nothing special. Nonetheless, it was refreshing and zesty. The garlic/breaded bread that comes complimentary (w/ oil and vinegar) was a home run. My entrée was chicken parmesan which came with pasta and veggies: generous portions and naturally tasty without going overboard with salt and sauce. For dessert, we ordered delightful cheesecake -- not sure if they make it in-house or not, but it was delicious. The service was outstanding though our waiter had way too many tables for one person. Garlic bread was warm but a little oily. Desserts were delicious. Tried both the crème brûlée and apple strudel. Strudel came warm with melting vanilla ice cream on top and a raspberry drizzle. Having grown up in Duvall, I crave sit-down Mexican food every 2-4 weeks and on my birthday. Weird, right? (Though I love Amono's I don't consider them sit-down.) I've been impressed with Luigi's twice now. The first time I went with my wife and daughter and had the carne asada. It was all solid. I loved the thinner salsa. Everything was salty and the meat was excellent. It came with grilled scallions and good corn tortillas (I don't recall if it had one of those salted grilled jalapenos but I love those.) The rice and beans were good and on the salty side, especially the beans. My wife's tamales were good, not out-of-the-park. She's an Angeleno and fairly discriminating, having made them a number of times herself. My daughter had shrimp. Alright, that's what I remember. I went again tonight and had a lime margarita and cochinita pibil tacos. It was great! I liked the salsa but it seemed different from the first one, with roasted...something, tomatoes or chiles, not sure. I loved my margarita. I was a bit disappointed that the pibil tacos didn't come with anything. e.g. rice/beans, but I could have known that based on the menu. I don't adore the sides: rice, beans, chips, and salsa. Went with friends to this new Italian restaurant in Redmond Ridge. We ordered drinks and each of us ordered something different. I had the spaghetti with bolognaise, others ordered the lasagne, chicken Marsala and cioppino. All of the meals were hot, fresh and tasty. The menu has many great items. Right now the restaurant is understaffed but slower service was okay with our wine and good friends. The wait-staff was friendly and responsive. Great place to eat. We all recommend Luigi's. read more
