Broccoli Rabe
Kim M.

Decided to get takeout from here for dinner. We ordered a Penne Alla Vodka Pizza - amazing !! Loved the sauce and cheese. We also ordered Broccoli Rabe, Cajun Chicken Salad, and a side of Calamari. Let's just say everyone loved it. Pizza is always one of my favorites and this did not disappoint.

Tiramisu . still frozen by the time i got home ...

Food was absolutely horrendous. the sicilian was soggy... the crust was completely burnt and tasted stale somehow the chicken parm pizza just had an off taste ... can't really describe just tasted odd. i won't say much about it because it could be a matter of personal preference when i thought the meal couldn't get worse i ordered a cannoli and a tiramisu. that's where i messed up really bad the cannoli tasted stale and like old fryer oil and the filling was bland the tiramisu... was frozen. completely frozen . i haven't had a meal this bad in years. i never leave reviews even if i wasn't a fan but this stuck with me. genuinely disappointed, how can a restaurant say they use fresh ingredients and classic techniques when they serve frozen desserts. and clearly canned pizza sauce. wouldn't be surprised if they ordered their dough. This is an embarrassment to food. I would never serve food of this level to a pig let alone an another human.

Pasta Amalfi

Tried this place for lunch and ordered the Amalfi with Fettuccine. It came out steaming hot and loaded with mushrooms. So so good. Also came with a side salad and cute little rolls. Dude working was very nice as well. Nothing fancy inside by any means, but very good food which is what counts

By far the best Italian food in the area. Owner is a great guy and friendly. Great addition to the small business community in Hockessin.

Are the employees (including line cooks) wearing masks at the Hockessin site? I read info regarding the Dover site. I also read that the owner commented that if masks were. mandated that he would comply.

Each time I've walked in there since mid-March, the staff has always worn masks. They've installed plexiglass around the front counter as well. I've always felt safe when picking up food for my family.

Food - so very good! Everything was hot and fresh and house-made. The gnocchi were little dumplings…read moreof pasta numminess. Yes, nummy. The chicken picatta was so, so good- just the right amount of lemony goodness. The Marsala was my husband's favorite- he's said it's some of the best he's had. My daughter said her veal was delicious. Get the cannoli- even if you don't normally like cannolis. My daughter loved her gooey snickerdoodle butter cake topped with ice cream. The decor and staff are everything you want in a family-owned Italian restaurant. There was Sinatra music playing and My Cousin Vinny on the TV - it was great. There is indoor and outdoor seating. It is a small restaurant with limited seating. If you are pressed, make a reservation. Don't go here, if you want quick, impersonal service. Street parking, just a heads up.

I know this may be an unpopular opinion but honestly I thought this was just average Italian food…read more I'd go again because there wasn't anything wrong with it but I wasn't wow'd. I tried the meatball appetizer - it was decent but not really anything special. For dinner I had the chicken parm in a blush sauce which came with a side of gnocchi and my dining partner had grandmas Sunday gravy, again both decent. We skipped dessert because it was a decent amount of food. The other thing I'll mention is you're going to want to make reservations if you go. The entire restaurant seats what seems like 30 people.

Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of treating my son, mother, and myself to one of the best…read moreValentine's Day dinners I have had. I have to share our experience from the beginning. So we drove a good 30mins to get here, with anticipation from seeing this restaurant on a travel channel, but the original location is in NY. We get there, and its plenty of free parking. We ask for seating for 3 and we are told they are only seating individuals who booked a reservation. Totally understandable considering its Valentine's day. I dropped the ball folks. I didn't make a reservation. So I noticed a bar lounge which we were told we could wait for a seat to open up. As we were waiting a coupled jumped in front us and took a seat. The manager Claudia came to the rescue like the dark knight but with more grace. She mentioned she was willing to put us on the list for a table in the main dining area. I accepted her kind gesture and continued to wait for bar lounge seating to open up. A couple was kind enough to come over to us and ask if we were waiting for bar lounge seating. They offered their table to us as they were ending their night. There was a 2 man band playing in the lounge area that was very soothing to the ear. As I tried to help my mother get comfortable at the hightop table, I noticed she was having a difficult time getting seated in such a high chair. Guess who came to the rescue, you guessed, Claudia! She's the best, 100 grand, made me a real fan. So she came over and said our table was ready if we wanted a booth seating and we all know that's the best seats in the house. All I could think is look at God. The wait wasn't even long either. 10 out of 10 for saving the day. In addition our waitress was such a sweetheart. I mentioned a white malbec I saw on the menu that I was astonish to see b/c I never knew of such a thing. She bought me a small glass to taste and my God, I am a true believer Jesus turned water into wine. Its so clear like water but the taste is amazing. The food is so delicious. The restaurant is very clean. The staff is very personalable. Everyone cartered to us. You would have thought we were the Obamas or something. As we were stuffing our faces, Claudia comes around handing out roses to the men/boys to give to their dates. Complimenting my son and his daper outfit she hands him a rose and tells him to give it your mommy. At the moment he lights up with a big smile as if he paid for the rose himself. I can tell he felt like a gentleman and good that he could give his mother a red rose on Valentine's day. That small gesture was very thoughtful and appreciated. I apologize for my essay, but they desired it. I love the service, the ambiance, the food, and service. I haven't seen my mother smile so much in a while. So it bought me great joy to give my mother this experience on Valentine's day. I thank Nonna Angela's staff for such a wonderful experience.
