Quick easy inexpensive lunch spot in Grand Haven, just off the Main Street. It's not as tasty as Two Beards and Cherry Deli in Grand Rapids as I expected, but good. They also sell wine and such and even though it's small they have some booth seating. Good prompt service when we were there and street parking available. read more

We were in town for the day and needed to find a quick lunch to-go that was safe for my son with a food allergy. The staff was so kind and helpful. They took the time to call their bakery to make sure the bread they serve was safe for him. And then we enjoyed two absolutely delicious sandwiches! Everything tasted fresh and looked appetizing. First visit and I'm impressed. I had a chicken salad lettuce wrap with dill havarti cheese that was absolutely delicious and the half serving was plenty for a quick lunch. We were in grand haven for a short vacation and were pleased the 225th coast guard festival was taking place. Food trucks everywhere, but nothing came close to what Lucy's has to offer. Carry out beer and other drinks, freshly made sandwiches, paninni's, and other types. We got ours to go and walked down to the waterfront to enjoy (only 2 blocks away). My Reuben was soooo good and I liked that it was wrapped in foil instead of some styrofoam container. read more

I liked Lucy's way better than The Toasted Pickle. This is a down home deli, with a great selection of cold and grilled sandwiches. Boar's Head supplies the meats and cheese, and honestly, who doesn't love Boar's Head? For deli meat, they're really the best! I had a grilled turkey sandwich with provolone, herbed mayo, lettuce and tomato. It was a little heavy handed on the mayo in my opinion, but otherwise it was really quite good. It's hard to mess up a deli sandwich. They also had no problem subbing in things. My sister had a sandwich that comes with American cheese, but they had no problem switching to provolone. My mom ordered the Ruben with instead of corned beef. We went at lunch time, and it was busy. We really didn't wait long for our food though. Perfect to pack up and take to the beach! My only wish would be a better explanation of the salads and whether the sandwich comes with chips. In hindsight, I saw people eating chicken salad, and something that looked like pasta, and reading the reviews, they clearly exist, but we breezed right past them somehow. The menu board perfectly describes their sandwiches. No complaints there. Overall, a really good, traditional deli sandwich. read more

Picked up sandwiches on our way out of town. I got the #2 A Walk on the Pier which is Boar's Head Honey Maple Turkey, Provolone, Honey Mustard, Lettuce & Tomato on Sourdough. Good. $7.99. Kids half sandwiches were $4.99. There was a lot of confusion about what they were out of - they told us they were out of one thing, then had us order something else, then came back out to tell us they were out of that, then it turned out they weren't. Not like it was the end of the day - it was 11:06 am (according to my receipt). Weird. They also mixed up the cheese on one sandwich - companion wanted baby swiss and receipt notes it, but wasn't on the sandwich. Receipt doesn't say which credit card I paid with. Feeling generous so rounding up 3.5 stars. read more

New to the area, but it's pretty clear that Lucy's has the best sandwiches around. It has a small hometown deli vibe, but the food goes way beyond that. There's usually a line, but service is fast and well worth the wait. I recommend multiple visits to find your favorite sandwich, but #28 "The Dune" is hard to beat. Anything grilled is absolutely delicious, you're going to want the whole size (trust me.) They have fountain drinks, but I prefer grabbing a tea from their glass door cooler/beer cave. Last, but not least is their casserole/salad options. While the sandwiches are the main event, don't overlook these. I think I tried their Fresh Broccoli salad; it had an awesome dressing and was super filling. read more

Good fresh sandwiches. Went there twice in a week. Had a pretzel sandwich with turkey and Swiss. The sandwich was very fresh. The other time I got a breakfast sandwich. The result was the same. A group of six hungry girls were on the lookout for a simple lunch. Our only requirement was that it not be greasy, as we had been eating bar food and drinking beer for most of our vacation. I used the yelp app on my phone to look for "soup" and came up with Lucy's. We didn't find much soup at Lucy's (they only have 1-2 a day) but we did find some really nice sandwiches at a great price. There are around 30 sandwiches on the menu. I had a 21.5 - ham, vermont cheddar, raspberry honey mustard, and veggies on a pretzel roll. It was very good! The sandwiches on sourdough are HUGE portions, a half portion of a sandwich on sourdough is about the size of a full sandwich on pretzel bread, so order accordingly. I love discovering hidden gems, and Lucy's certainly qualified. We'll surely be back the next time we're in town! read more

I actually found this place by playing around on Google Maps (I know, I know...shame on me). This place is basically a hole in the mall. They're off the main strip of Downtown Grand Haven but worth venturing a few blocks over. The service is amazing. The two girls explained everything and gave us their opinion on what they liked and didn't. There are a lot of options so brace yourself for all the options you're about to chose from. The sandwiches are huge and they use Boar Head which is pretty awesome. For a sandwich, drink, and chips you can get out of there for about $10 a person. The building itself is nothing to write home about. 1 unisex bathroom, a few tables and booths and that is about it. They do sell bottled drinks as well so there are some coolers in the far side wall. It might not look like much...but this place is absolutely amazing and worth a trip. read more

Look, I get it. Boar's Head is expensive (and mega delicious), but $6 for a half of a pretzel bun sandwich? I don't eat much and I was starving a few hours later. My favorite place to grab lunch in Grand Haven. Their sandwiches are delicious and there are many to choose from. My current favorite is The Oddside. I don't know who Grama is, but her potato salad is amazing. Try it as a side or have them toss it in a lettuce wrap. They have lots of seating inside and a few small tables outside. I'm able to get a REALLY yummy gluten free sandwich here and my husband's able to get a really big.. not gluten free sandwich ;) We both love this place for different reasons. Our family used to frequent this establishment for many many years growing up. Unfortunately every time we come to this deli in the last few years we are unable to get service. Last year had a terrible experience but thought it was a fluke and tried again. Today we attempted to order10 sandwiches, called them in with no problems stated they would be ready in 20 min, waited in a line outside for 10 minutes to pay and pick them up... out of turkey.. all 10 sandwiches were turkey... no return call to tell us they were out or anything. Super sad day and unfortunately can say we have learned our lesson and will not be returning. read more

Lots of good sandwich options, dips, spreads, side salads and pasta salads. Cute atmosphere with adorable chalkboard menu! The feta dip (I think it is feta taco dip?) was so good. I could have had that as a meal! They even have beer and wine! This is a great place to go before the beach, or before a picnic. Its designed to carry-out, however you can eat in, and the service is fast! We stayed in GH for a week and went here a few times. Recently in Grand Haven we stopped at Lucy's at the recommendation of a friend. I had the Pesto Turkey and thought it was pretty good. My boyfriend had The Perfect 10 which is BBQ chicken, bacon, onions, bbq sauce and he said it was great.
