Sorry and Sad to say that I had a HORRIBLE UNFORGETTABLE experience. I got a wax on my chin that left me with a huge long red mark, from my lip down my one side of my chin and under to my neck. She scrapped a layer of skin off. I now have this huge redish brown mark on one side of my face. VERY UPSET!!!! POOR QUALITY WAX AND CLOTHS, VERY POOR SERVICE, This should NEVER happen in a professional salon. She did NOT clean the surface to remove wax residue, NO TEA TREE OIL, nothing to sooth or cover, NO assistance, no soothing lotion, NO apology, just UN-professional and POOR, LOW STANDARDS....Please avoid this place at all cost, don't take a chance on waxing your face at this place!!!!! I had a nick once before at a salon in Orillia, and they put soothing cream on it, cover up, and gave me some to take home and apologized and gave me a free voucher for another visit and also NO CHARGE. It was very nicely done, although I was upset, there was good customer service. $18 pedicure was the bare minimum service, you can't help but feel the majority of these women absolutely HATE this job, I guess I don't necessarily blame them.. A lot of attempting to awkwardly UP SELL people on expensive polishes, a total CON game. I visited on Saturday June 11, it was an awful experience, the pedicure was plain bad, the service was HORRENDOUS. When I only tipped $2 I got more attitude, I used to like Lucy's (she was off this Saturday), I would never return again, I'd suggest looking elsewhere, or pay a few extra bucks for a better salon. read more

Horrible service!!!! BEWARE! many of the nail technicians are not experienced and almost all of them are rude and rush you out. I felt like I was being herded like a sheep. They threw on plastic baggies on my feet and I interrupted them and asked if my toes were dry and she kept saying yes. Obviously when I got home all my toes were smudged, and one had the entire nail polish smudged off. On top of this, I was lied to about the total amount of my petti and shellac mani by one dollar so she could pocket an extra dollar even though i tipped 4$, I didn't realize this until after and was furious I was lied to about the total. My friend felt the same way about her experience when she was with me and was pressured to do shellac or fake nails instead of regular polish. I love this place. The girls are super friendly, efficient and good at their job! The prices are unbeatable. I've been trying to find something closer to my home, but even with coupons and groupons and what not, I still haven't found anything comparable to the quality you get at this salon for the price. I've tried a regular mani-pedi, french mani, and a shellac (french) mani with regular pedi and they've all been absolutely perfect. I've given up on trying to find another salon, and am sticking with thiso ne from now on! They're also really great at getting you an appointment ASAP with a quick phone call. The cash-only doesn't bother me either -- although I would suggest that you know what you want before you go in. I had to take a trip down the street to the bank when I realized I wanted shellac one day and didn't have enough cash. read more

I am a regular at Lucy Nails. Over the past few visits I have been disappointed with my mani/pedi. The service has been too rushed! My cuticles were cut too short and I almost got an infection to one my nails My pedicures have been below standard. THe place is always busy and I feel at times that the girls are too rushed. I've been to Lucy Nails several times and they are the best mani/pedi in the city. They take extra care with the cleaning and grooming, finish the pedicure off with a calf massage, and all this for 25$. The place is pretty no frills, but given the amazing job they do, who cares?! So I've tried this place now three times because I really wanted to like it, but had an issue every time.... This time, despite making an appointment, once I arrived they put the foil on my nails to remove my old shellac and then left me for just shy of 30 minutes. Anywhere else I've gone, they leave it on for like 10. My fingers were tingling a bit but I didn't think too much of it, plus no one was available to take it off. They continued to tingle and now, a couple hours later, the skin is so dry on my fingers it's begun peeling off. Needless to say, that was my last visit. They did not bother remove the old gel correctly before adding new fill on top. This caused air to become trapped into between my nail and the fill. I've been going here on a regular basis ever since I moved to the Junction which was 2 years ago. This is the perfect spot for the price. I get acrylic nails done by Kim and she is fast and precise, overall fantastic at her job. I also get shellac pedis sometimes and it's also perfect for the price. The shellac lasts up to 2 months!!! The staff are friendly enough. No issues with customer service. Lucy, the owner, is also very pleasant to deal with and has quite the sense of humor sometimes. The only drawback is they are VERY busy on weekends and they accept cash only. You have to make sure to call in right at 10am on a weekend to book an appointment. You could still do a traditional "drop-in" but people almost always get turned away and asked to come back in 2 hours or more. read more

I had read the reviews and I had high hopes for Lucy's Nails. And as I had been to several in the area that I had excellent service, I was excited to see what Lucy's Nails could do as she had quiet a few positive reviews. I went in December for a Pedicure only. I had called and made a booking, but I honestly think that anyone who calls and says a time they want to come in gets told sure that is fine, as they didn't even take my name. Upon walking in the facility was clean, warm(as it was cold outside), I was immediately greeted by a staff whom I informed I had made an appointment earlier in the week for a pedicure. She directed me to the nail polish colours by leading me to them. That was nice I thought cause I had never been there before. When Lucy did come out she also greeted me as well, and said "This is your first time here?" And I said yes. Another thing to mention is that there are a good amount of staff. I saw definitely at least six people that were staff when I walked in and then there was Lucy. Most of the Staff were busy, but one attendant was not. She started getting the chair and water ready for me as I was picking a colour. They had a good selection of colour and they also offer Shellac(bonus). I took the regular colours this time in red. I was directed to my chair and removed my shoes, rolled up my pants and put my feet in. The water was warm. I didn't see them stick anything in the water. Most places have something blue in the water or something that bubbles up a little. This one seemed like just plain water to me, unless they put something in it when I was picking the colour, but I was pretty fast at doing that. So I sat down and she set the chair settings to massage and adjusted it to my body as I'm pretty short so the chair had to be moved forward for my feet to be comfortably in the water. The massaging chairs as in most salons were awesome. Although an electronic massage still did the job, for me and helped relax me. There was a flat extension next to the chair to put books, magazines, your drink and what ever else. The attendant put a few gossip magazines there for me. She seemed nice, she didn't talk much to me which I'm okay with. I don't mind when people just get down to the job at hand. The one comment she made was that I have small feet which is true I can fit them in a size 2 in kids shoes so they are pretty tiny for an adult woman. The actual pedicure part was pretty much what you expect in most places, except I think I've been indulged in my regular location as I get a really good foot and lower leg massage and for some reason I was expecting it from Lucy's as well but didn't get it. I don't know if its an extra thing at Lucy's but I do know not all salons do it. I just accepted it for what it was. Next came the nail polish. The attendant was quick to get it on and then led me to a table with UV lights to let it dry faster. I sat there for a while, reading my book. I didn't mind the wait. Then she came back to me and put sandwich bags on my feet so I could leave. The prices was 18 dollars for just the pedicure. I left and went home. When I got home I took of the sandwich bags from my feet, and started my toe inspection. The nail polish was smooth but my nails were jagged. She had filed them, but perhaps not enough. There were bumps and I expect smooth. And some of my nail was peeling too from the tips of the toe nail which most places clear that away. I was a little disappointed at this. The colour looked great but just the jagged nails and the nail peeling wasn't my cup of coffee. Other than that service it's self was good, but I don't think I will be back to Lucy's Nails. I like my toe nails to me smooth and short, and I definitely didn't get smooth. read more

25 for a shellac mani is an awesome price considering the woman was very thorough and did a great job. They were able to take me right away and the staff is very friendly. My only criticism is that the salon isn't much to look at. I think it needs an update, but this is my spot from now on. read more

I am writing this review right in the nail salon as I am highly disappointed with their service. The lady was totally in a hurry to do my pedi (took her less than 10 min). When I showed her an area of my feet where it needed shaving, she just put oil on it and said it was fine. I came to do mani-pedi but after I saw the bad pedi job, I declined to have my mani done. Pay a bit more and get a better job somewhere else. Waste of your money. read more

Walked into Lucy's, Tuesday at about Noon. They took me right away and Kim worked on my manicure. She was quiet and concentrated on her work. She actually corrected my last gel manicure with french tips, took her time and applied a beautiful refill. Looks better than the last place for sure. Clean, fast, and cheap! read more

I was just introduced to this place by a friend who comes here all the time. Four of us were booked for mani/pedi and unlike other places, they made sure all four of us had a seat at the same time. LOVE this place, especially, "Yen #2" (there are two ladies named Yen). I have weird nails and even a shellac has a tough time lasting a week on me, Yen's shellac manicures always make it to 2 1/2 weeks! AND I've had fewer issues with my cuticles and hangnails since I've started seeing her. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I actually take the bus/subway from Brampton just to go here! I've been to Lucy Nails many times for the past several years. This use to be THE place, but the past year I have found it to be lacking large in service. The last time I went, the esthetician didn't say one word to me to ask me how short or what shape style I wanted with my nails. It took all of 15 minutes for her to do my pedicure and I walked out with what felt like a half done pedi. When I went to pay a different person, she told me it was $19 when it's clearly stated everywhere that it's $18. She said I didn't have a "kit" so it's always been $19 with no kit. I said I've never paid $19, but she reinstated it was $19. Although Lucy's is busy all the time, it just seems like such a factory of people lately and the workers could care less anymore. I will not be returning. There are so many other hidden gems in the neighbourhood that I'd much rather give my money to. read more

Lucy and her staff are great. Mani/pedi is excellent value at $25. It's not super luxurious, but you can pay double somewhere else if that's what you're looking for. Only Lucy does waxing, and I have never had any issues. The only issue is that no matter when you call, or what you ask for, Lucy will give you an "appointment" and you might show up and find 6 people already waiting. Seems she just can't say no! If you want her to be specific ask the "best time" to come in, but there still might be a short wait. I recommend Lucy for those who know what to expect at a low budget nail salon. read more

Visited this nail salon for the first time today July 21/17...I was looking for a new manicurist, but clearly I will stick to my previous person...I have been getting my nails done since the days when only place in the city was- Crazy Nails on Eglington Ave W so that over 30 years.. I have to say Lucy's Nails was the worse nail experience I have ever had in Toronto, the service was bad, the atmosphere was unpleasant and the technicians lack any type of real skills, thank goodness my I get my nails done ever 2 weeks so I can get a proper manicure pedicure in another 2 weeks...NOT worth the visit read more

First time here I usually go to another salon. Lucy Salon is clean and quick but I would not recommend the service. Some of the nail technicians (Ana) does not care about the overall customer service and rushing each client through the services. Although, Yan who did my friend's nails did an amazing job. I think this place is a hit & miss with the technicians. Make sure you book before hand as Lucy tends to overbook and will keep clients waiting. If you are looking for somewhere cheap, I would suggest it. Be careful for the lack of customer service and waiting time. read more

I've been going to Lucy for years but it's time to look for a new place. Yes, they're friendly but my pedicure started chipping after a few days and was half off within 10 days. Only one coat of polish. Half the massage chairs are broken and that is half the reason I go for a pedicure- to relax. I can give myself a pedicure! They are rushed and the work is not up to par. Wish I'd paid more attention to the negative reviews before I went. Decided to give this place a try and left with mixed feelings. The atmosphere is generally very good (with exceptions) but the work was very average.......you get what you pay for. When I arrived for my appointment shortly after opening a lady pointed me out to the nail tech Tarn who was to give me a mani/pedi. She was UTTERLY DISINTERESTED in being there and having to do the work. Perhaps she was having a bad day or unwell but I've never encountered anyone with such an apathetic attitude in her work or client in any industry. No greeting, no smile, just asked me to pick out a polish. As she was working on me, I noticed all the other techs were smiling and talking to their clients throughout the service and although I'm not a talkative person I thought I'd initiate some small talk and exchange some pleasantries. Even though there was no language barrier, there was no chatting with her and I basically got one word answers. At the end of my treatment she led me to the nail drying bar and left. Other techs would come and check that their client's nails were dry before they would leave. I waited and waited and waited and decided to just leave as she hadn't come by at all. At this point, the salon owner Lucy saw me and rushed over to make sure my nails were dry and to help me with my sandals which was very nice of her. My observations about this place: if you're a regular you seem to get better service. There was another first timer seated next to me and she wasn't too happy either. Lucy is a lovely lady as other reviewers have pointed out. She's very busy running around with many tasks and no doubt has the expectation that her nail techs will do their part to make a client (new or regular) feel welcome and comfortable at her salon. It just didn't happen in my case. So overall it seemed to be a friendly place but sometimes you get the one person who makes you wish you had gone elsewhere as in my situation. read more

I tried Lucy Nails twice during the last month. The first time was awful, but I thought if I went back and got someone else it might not be so bad. Well I went back today and got the same "technician" (and I use the term loosely). I got a manicure and pedicure and both were the worst I have ever had. I often go to a similar type of nail salon (cheap) on the Lakeshore and thought I would try this because it is even cheaper and had a few good reviews. However, the woman who serviced me was absolutely terrible. It was a fast pedicure and she did not do a good job at any of the normal things one gets in a mani--pedi. She did not -shape my nails or file them correctly. She did not cut the cuticles. She did not massage my calves or hands. She DID NOT even use a cuticle cream. Honestly I left there with terrible looking hands and feet and skin all around my nail beds. Also, the nail polish was peeling from my fingernails! I am not sure which lady I had, but I know it was not Lucy or Chang OR one of the pretty middle age ladies. I had the short, stubby, ugly, mean looking one who is completely unfriendly. I mean I know these types of places are not normally friendly as the ladies who work there are usually flippant and standoffish. I mean they make peanuts servicing people all day. But, this was SO bad. I thought the place I go sometimes on Lakeshore was low brow, but they are like a professional high end spa in comparison. Now the woman who was seeing "Lucy" seemed happy and Lucy was friendly to everyone. HOWEVER, I did see her turn on a woman who arrived one hour late for her appointment. As for my lady and her terrible service, I would be ashamed to give that poor of service to anyone. I was quiet, sweet and polite to her. But, she barely grunted a word! Now I don't really mind that as much as her awful, awful, awful pedi-mani. I would never go here again. IF you are really desperate and poor, then I suppose you could go here. But, really you could do a much better job yourself. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. It was also not that clean as other reviewers have said. I am not in this income bracket where I need to spend $25 on a mani-pedi, so I was stupid and should have realized that you get what you pay for. I will just go to a better place.
