I don't go here for groceries, but I love their prepared food areas! From ramen to sushi, prepackaged meals to sandwiches, and a salad bar, there's plenty to choose from when you're in a rush. I recently went in to get some ramen before work and was immediately helped at the counter, given a paper to fill out with my preferred broth and toppings and then waited only ten minutes to be able to walk out with (nice and cheap!) piping hot ramen, full of flavor, proteins and veggies. The store is laid out with fresh fruits and veggies as you go in, a plentiful amount of wines, beers and seltzers, and an abundance of employees ready to help you when you need. I used to visit Lucky's when it was in Florida and was sad when they closed. I jumped at the chance to visit while in Colorado. I got sushi and local kombucha and both were really good. This market has outstanding in-house items. Family favorites are their queso dip (huge raves) and their fresh pesto sauce. Lots of speciality gluten free options that are not available else where. We absolutely love the biscuits from the Good Love brand along with their pastry sheets. Great selection of wine and lots of independent coffee brands. The Organic Girl spring mix with baby kale is so good that we actually enjoy eating kale. Who knew? We really like their 85/15 ground beef. Makes for the perfect burger. So I have to admit, at first I didn't understand why people were so excited about Lucky's Market opening in Fort Collins. Mind you, my point of reference is the Lucky Supermarket chain from back in the day in California, so being excited about that makes as much sense as being excited about Safeway. Anyhoo, I did eventually catch-on that this is a different Lucky's where the focus is on organic, local brands, and fresh in-house prepared foods and thought it would be worth checking out. I stopped by the evening of their soft opening, and my first impression is that Lucky's is what Whole Foods used to be before its Amazonification. Well, actually, it's probably better than that but you get my drift. It's kind of cool that you enter the store (if you come in the south entrance) through an aisle of beautiful produce, which then opens up onto a self-serve coffee station, a varied bulk foods section, and your aisles of grocery items. On the north side of the store there is an apothecary section, which admittedly I didn't check out because I hadn't had dinner yet so I pretty much made a beeline to the prepared food section. There are counters for pizza, sandwiches, sushi, and ramen, as well as other self-serve hot and cold prepared items (think meatloaf, mac & cheese, twice-baked potatoes, etc.) I decided to try the ramen, because I am an eternal optimist and am ever hopeful that good ramen will one day be available in Fort Collins. I can't say that Lucky's is the holy grail of ramen, but there are a few things they do right. All the ramen is take-out, served in separate bowls for the ramen + toppings and the soup, tied together in a clever, easy-to-carry sort of baskety bag. Yeah, I know that description sucks, so take a look at the photo I hope I remember to upload ... They also have a nice selection of proteins -- char siu, beef sukiyaki, Lucky's bacon, shrimp tempura, fried tofu -- and a variety of toppings. I kind of wish that the seasoned egg were soft boiled, though, and for this ramen geek the noodles didn't have the right elastic-y chew that I expect of good alkaline noodles. I'd say all in all Lucky's has a decent Americanized version of ramen that'll do in a pinch. I admit that my experience at Lucky's Market is pretty limited at this point, but aside from my disappointment in the ramen I see that there is much more that I'd like to check out. Greta little market! If you're looking for an ingredient off the beaten path you can certainly find it here! I enjoy their bulk bins and local/seasonal produce selection. Staff is also great which makes shopping a pleasant experience. For staples like pasta, oil, canned goods, etc. it can get pricy fast. I typically just buy produce, spices, and bulk items here. I don't eat animal products often but when I do, I buy them here as well since they carry a variety of higher quality items. Good selection of bar soap as well if you're like me and prefer bar soap to body wash! read more

I really want to like them! If you are buying to eat right away then they are great - but if you are buying in advance nothing lasts. I bought some pretzel rolls that were dated 3 weeks out - I went to use them the next day and they were moldy. This is not an isolated incident - that has happened with their seasoned shrimp, lunch meat - and other bread. The produce is great if you are eating it today or tomorrow - it doesn't last. If you shop here, always check you receipt. They consistently and intentionally overcharge- marking sale items that never ring up on sale, having items advertised in the flyer that are rung up wrong at the cashiers and generally being indifferent to the sticker price once you get to the front. Although, if you are the type of bougie hipster that can afford to shop here in the first place, getting charged double for your groceries probably doesn't bother you.... read more

As others have described, the layout of the products and checkout stands in this new store is very odd. It is not a comfortable way to go shopping - if you forget a produce item, you have to snake around back to the entrance through a busy narrow walkway. The selection is good for local and special-diet items, but the prices are unimpressive compared to other grocery stores. I'd come back for the few specialty items I haven't seen elsewhere, but it won't be a regular visit for me. read more

First visit here today. I am surprised that a new supermarket would go for such a crowded and difficult layout. Aisles are narrow. The entrance puts you into a narrow fruit aisle with no escape. I suggest entering through the exit to avoid the obstacle course of the main entry. I'll stick with the bigger better designed stores. read more

Great little grocery store that just opened near me. Pretty inside. Produce and other goodies nicely displayed. Reasonable prices (cheaper than Whole Foods, even with Prime discount!). Staff very friendly. Sam in produce helped me find a couple of things and pointed me to a great deal on fresh corn. Parking is tight though. read more

I was writing what was going to be a one-star review in my head ("henceforward I'll be going back to Whole Foods even though Amazon has wrapped its tentacles around it . . .") after I interacted with two amiable and utterly unhelpful young workers in the store; however, the very tall young man at the cash register, (red hair, ball cap, competent and friendly) single-handedly changed my review from one star to three. My first (and only) visit to Lucky's two days ago: I arrived, picked up some bananas, and poured oats into one plastic bag and some Spanish peanuts in another inthe bulk aisle. Selections of nuts and grains were decently sized. I filled a large-ish honey container with clover honey and was surprised to find the honey hot as it poured in. But I figured it's to keep it flowing faster. (Enjoyed at room temperature it turns out it is quite viscous--and completely delicious.) The serve-yourself area for honey and maple or aguave syrups was sticky, as was the handle I had to pull. Each empty plastic honey container had a small white circle of paper covering its opening--it was easy to pull off, but not easy to know where to throw it away. (I finally stuck it in my pocket to dispose of it outside the store.) The machine that prints the labels for all bulk purchases has a clumsy label dispenser and despite handwritten instructions about how to tear a label off it was hard to use successfully. (I had to reset everything to print the second label, sticking my fingers into the dispenser to remove a stuck label.) Come on: with the prices you're charging you can't get a new, simple machine to weigh and tag bulk purchases? The prices are higher than both Safeway and King Soopers. Noosa yogurt, e.g., was $2.29 instead of the $1.99 it is at the latter stores. Finally, my exchange with affable, clueless workers? Here's one example. I've gotten my bulk foods and weighed and labeled them; got some fruit. I walk up to a man unpacking a box not far from the bulk foods. I ask where I can find tahini. "Oh, that's in the grocery aisles," he says with authority. I explain that this is the first time I've been to Lucky's, and what did he mean by "grocery section" and grocery aisles? He waved his hands towards some traditional-looking shelves on aisles and explains those are the groceries. (What are bulk foods?! Fruit?!) The tahini, he told me, was with the peanut butter on the lower left side of the aisle. Where's that? I asked. With some annoyance he tells me to look to the bottom left as I walk through these shelves. I see there aren't any numbers on the aisles, nor any obvious or distinctive markings. Even when I said this was my first time here, with a friendly smile this guy gave me no help whatsoever. Directions to the tahini? A lazy flicking motion from the mans wrist and hand: "Grocery section, by the peanut butter." He might as well have handed me a treasure map marked solely in Korean lettering. (I'm not gifted enough to know that language) and gone back to his bagging. UPDATE: I went back to Lucky's and prices still seemed high but the food I got was again very good. read more

Was standing 10 feet away from everyone and not touching any food items, just waiting in a distant line with my toddler in the cart, lowered my mask to breathe because it was 97 outside and I had just finished an 11 mile bike ride and was still sweating and trying to catch my breath. Cashier stepped out of her register 20 feet away to tell me to put my mask on. I have been self quarantining since 2018 with a baby and literally had a Covid test done on Wednesday that came back negative. I am an adult and knew I was not putting anyone in danger, but Luckys employee felt the need to play nanny to me trying to shop for my family after a hard day. read more

They are shooting to be Trader Joes, in price, but the quality of food is that of dollar store, and the customer service is that of a teen cashier, it wasn't, uninterested in there job and more interested in talking with the person they know rather than completing the transaction in from of them. If you're in walking distance and you're unable to get to any other grocer, I guess go here if the gas station is closed... Or the dollar store... This store has potential but it is only as good as its employees. I have had three good experiences at best with employees working at this location. Today was enough already. I was patiently standing behind an off duty employee who was shopping for their groceries while there were plenty of employees available to at least ASK if I needed assistance. The employee shopping monopolized other employees taking up chit chat so the working employees felt comfortable enough to ignore non Lucky's employed shoppers. After eight minutes, (yes I waited 8 minutes because maybe this employee needed to have a friendly boost of fellowship and I get that) I gave up and thought I'd ask my question at the register. The cashier asked if I found everything I was looking for. I told them no, asked my question. Told them I was waiting to ask the same question over at that group of employees but didn't want to interrupt them. The register informed me that a member of that group was the person that had the information I needed but that they have no personal issues interrupting. The register walks over, interrupts the conversation, the entire group glares in my family's direction, laughs, then continues talking. The register walks back over to us and tells us what we kind of already figured out. Thanks. Lucky's could have done something spectacular but they hired from the bottom of the social barrel. The products are smart clean budget friendly. The staff not so much. If all the other locations were filled with the same kind of personnel it's easy to understand why Lucky's went under. read more

I've been told to try Lucky's Market for awhile now and I finally went. It definitely is like a whole foods and trader Joe's type of place. The organization of the store was a little confusing and somewhat difficult to get around. Their food selection is great though and they have a wide selection of fresh and healthy comfort food. I also really appreciated the guidelines Lucky's has for covid 19. Masks are required and worn by all employees and customers that I saw. Will definitely visit again. read more

We're psyched to have an alternative to Whole Paycheck on the north side of town. I see other reviewers complaining about the bothersome layout of the store. I think that's pretty weak. Love the savings. Their Made In-House deli meat is also really good. Their bulk items are also really good! We got their gummy bears and were surprised it was only $1.50 for 2-3 scoops! It was busy, but we went on a Sunday morning and it is a new store. Hard to find parking, but the bank parking lot next to it was not open, so we parked there. It is actually a pleasure to shop here. The employees were extremely helpful and kind, it is a unique place and not a typical grocery store. It has an atmosphere. Has a good selection of organic and healthy options,however the salad bar and hot bar are a hot mess. They dont seem to be very attentive in checking the foods they have out,or making sure they have what is needed. They had mashed potatoes, but no gravy smh..Who has mashed taters with no gravy. Prices aren't too terrible, and a lot of stuff usually is on sale. However, their register system is a MAJOR issue. Having to wait for someone to come scan a special card and enter in blueberries manually because the sale price isn't in the system is a huge flaw. They need to get their system primed before I'm coming back. read more

The deli person was super helpful and they had some really great quality meats for good prices. Some stuff was expensive (because it's specialized), but overall great prices for the products they are selling! Lucky Market earned one star instead of zero for one simple reason; they have a good beer selection. The rest, however, is unfortunately abysmal. Their meat selection is at best questionable. The "Carne Asada" is not actually carne asada. It is whatever meat they have left over that they want to season to imitate carne asada. One time we got an entire steak in the carne asada package. This last time, it was ground beef. That's right, ground beef passed off as carne asada in a super market that is suppossed to be of higher quality than any other super market around.
