The general tso chicken was soggy and didn't have any crispness to its outside layer. The broccoli was also limp and lifeless and didn't have any of the flavor from the sauce or the chicken. The rice had very little vegetables and tasted like burnt soy-sauce. The best part of the experience was the egg drop soup and egg rolls. Those had a great flavor and the egg drop soup was a surprise because most of the restaurants here have a horrible smell to their soup and flavor, like it has soured. We have tried quite a few dishes and so far all were packed with a lot of flavor!! The egg rolls - super crispy, fried right and delicious. The salt and pepper fish - this one is by far my favorite dish out of all. They had a wonderful crispy coating and were tossed with fresh peppers and the right amount of seasoning. The treasures chicken, beef and shrimp hot pot was hearty and so comforting with tender meat and tasty broth. The Mongolian beef, chicken, and shrimp - was really well-made as well with tender pieces of meat and savory sauce and all these three dishes above married well with the hot, steamed rice that they served with it. I also tried the seafood noodle dish with the white sauce, which had shrimp, fish, mushroom, vegetable noodles, and egg. This one was pretty unique and one of the highlights. It was gooey chewy and all the ingredients tasted well together in a light savory white sauce. This particular one was so comforting that I kept going back to this one for another bite. I love that this restaurant has a lot more dishes to offer and that their portion sizes are huge. The pricing is very reasonable as per the portions with most of the entrees in the range of $16 - $18 with seafood costing a little more. The service has always been very friendly but be sure to dine in way before closing time or the staff might tell you to take a to-go 30-45 mins before closing. Otherwise the restaurant has a very casual relaxed feel to enjoy with family and friends. You don't want to dine in here. The dining room needs a thorough scrubbing and it's the kind of place where the dining room doubles as storage for restaurant supplies plus also a bit of a garage sale with random retail clearance items for sale. If you can ignore all that, the food is good for a quick lunch. I tried the moo goo gai pan today with steamed rice and crab Rangoon. Moo Goo Gai Pan is always chicken and mushrooms plus other crunchy vegetables, usually bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and snow peas. Their version is in a white sauce and contains your choice of protein plus sliced button mushrooms, carrots, and zucchini. I would have preferred the addition of something extra crunchy like water chestnuts, but this still satisfied my craving for chicken and veggies in a white sauce. I was surprised by how tasty the crab Rangoon is. It looked like regular crab Rangoon, but the wrapper was thinner than the regular egg roll wrappers. Not as thin as you get from some Thai restaurants, but in between. A little greasy with a sweet cream cheese filling, but very good. Less than ten bucks for lunch and I even had leftovers.
