I ordered some hard shell chicken taco and they were HORRIBLE!!!! First off the shell was Stale and the chicken meat was diced up and all they put on there was cilantro, onion and red salsa. This by far is worse taco I ever had in my life. I'm very disappointed in their food. Also the guy that takes the order in the drive thru sucks he kept getting the number item wrong, it had to be repeated to him 4x's. They deserve a NO STAR RATING for this mess here. I was in need of a breakfast burrito with crispy bacon ! I work in the Compton area and read the reviews on yelp . Since they were mixed, bad and good I was hesitant . I still tried them out and ordered my bacon crispy breakfast burrito and was very pleased . The service was good and the worker at the window was very patient as I tried to make my decision on what to eat since there's so many pictures on the menu when you pull in. Great customer service and the food was delicious. I ordered the steak and quesadillas, 3 steak tacos and a chili cheese fries w/ pastrami. My daughter had the chili cheese pastrami that was fire. I am not a fan but found that the portion she shared was tasty, the fries weren't over seasoned, not salty but just right. Th steak quesadillas was huge and filled with steak. I went here two days in a row, first day I asked the lady for two extra sauces and she looked me in the face and didn't give me any extra. Which my order already comes w/ a sauce. The next day I gave the man my card and asked for 3 extra sauces with my order & he said with attitude "why didn't you tell me this before" I said I didn't know, people usually asks for sauces at the window & he told me 3 sauces are 1.67 and He asked me if I had cash I said no, while he has my card which he can charge. He then only gave me two sauces with my order & it already comes with one so it should be 4 in total. I literally paid for 3 and only got two. I've been coming here for over a decade. They have lots of good food on the menu, can't speak for all the items but the chili fries, tamales, enchilada, asada tacos, shrimp ceviche, asada plate, and BLT have been consistently. If you're adventurous ask for chili on top of your tamale is bomb! Beware they're service is super slow lmao but they're nice n the food is good. If I could, I would give them 3.5 stars. Lucky Star has been a go to for lunch while I'm at work. I have tried quite a few of their plates and they don't disappoint. I really like their chili cheese fries because they don't hold back on their servings. Their tacos are also pretty good and again, they come with a good amount of meat. It's not just cilantro and onions, haha. Most of their meals are reasonably priced and good. A plus is that i can phone in my order, and then just swing by and pick it up. I've never had an issue with my food order being wrong either or having to wait long for my food to be ready. They have a salsa bar with different salsas and condiments. I've actually have been here multiple times picking up orders for work (and also eating their breakfast burritos). Well.. where to start... This place you can't miss. Its borderline Compton but it's visible to major cross streets so you're safe. I've had their breakfast burritos (half and half of sausage and bacon), their Denver omelette (+ avocado), horchata, lengua burrito, lengua taco... I think that may be it. Breakfast burritos - good and hearty. comes with egg, cheese, potatoes (not french fries, like Jalepeno's across the street), bacon and breakfast sausage. It was good, the tortillas tasted fresh. It's pretty cheap for the size too... and the burritos are the sizes of premature babies. Denver omelette - I'm not too crazy about this one. The mixture of the actual Denver omelette was good.. Which included bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, ham, and SLICED CHEESE. I think the slice cheese turned me off. It just felt like it didn't belong. Plus, this wasn't an omelette. It was more of a scramble.. I added avocado, but I didn't see any inside of it. It came with hashbrowns (or french fries), and your choice of bread. Hashbrowns were good though. Lengua taco - this was good! I had corn tortillas with it I think. The taco came with lengua, onions, cilantro, and that's it. Good the way it is! Lengua burrito - I saved the best to review for last. This was MY FAVORITE. Not only with what the burrito came with.. but the way they cooked it and the way it tasted. It tastes amazing. Lengua was cooked just right, and tasted perfect. I think the burrito comes with a standard rice and beans (I don't think cheese). But order the lengua burrito plain and I think it comes with onions and cilantro. I added sour cream, because I like it. This was very good, I would order this again. And for first time lengua eaters.. don't be scared. Sauces - There are a few to choose from. There is this avocado cream-like sauce. It's a little spicy but my favorite. They have green sauce, which is a little tangy and spicy but goes with everything.. Even fries. Their red sauce is good but not to my standard of spicy. It was yummy though. Pico de Gallo is also available, this one is good! Tastes fresh. I love the flavors of it. I like this place, I don't love it... But I like it enough to keep coming here. One day I will have to get menudo.. I work week days so it'll take me coming over the weekend here to get some. read more

Unbelievably slow service. Placed an order for 3 of their breakfast plates on Uber Eats (Stated was a 20-30min delivery) at around 9:50am. Food was not completed until 10:40am. It took them almost an hour to prepare our meals. The only good thing that came out of this was the portions of the food: their portions are acceptable, however, the toast was not even toast. It was just sliced up bread; I had to put it into our toaster in order to turn it into actual toast. The food all together wasn't too bad, it was alright for what you pay for. However, taking a almost an hour to prepare simple scrambled eggs and ham is beyond unacceptable. I want to give this place another chance if they clean up the level of service via Uber Eats. read more
