So, when I did a quick search and found lucky nails, I definitely felt...lucky! Walked in for my 6pm appointment and was greeted by the lovely Eva. I explained to her my nail problems and she got right to work. She was super meticulous with repairing the weak acrylic on all of my nails, filed them down, added some more, and left me with my nails looking brand new! I have visited 3 consecutive months for a full set of gel acrylics, with 2 subsequent acrylic gel fills. Request for the male technician to do your acrylic gel nails! He definitely does them the best. Not only do they turn out looking great, he is also quite speedy and each fill lasts me about 4+ weeks. My friends have all gotten gel manicures here and theirs also turned out great! This is a quick spot to get your nails done in the FiDi, so don't expect a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely go elsewhere if you wish to be pampered as it is just one large room with way too many clients. Pricing is pretty decent considering the location vs the quality of work. I like the brick wall. I love the staff and family here. They can take you pretty often. They are super kind! Here are issues: -colors. The last 4 times, they are out of the color I want, the matching set between toe and foot couldn't be more different, it looked nothing like the model -the pedicure massages have been a quick light 2 minutes, not quality or long enough. -only 2 extremely thin see-through coats on my pedi. chipped already. -sitting here is extremely uncomfortable. You have to hold your leg weight while they are doing your toes, you can barely see over the pillows with your hands and they roll you around all over the place, cut me, and were pretty aggressive on my thumbs. all in end, will continue to come back to my neighborhood spot, but it would be great if they can up their inventory on more colors that are in demand for dip and pedi combos! read more

I've never ever had my nails done and for the first time, I tried acrylic and gel. Ly was nice and recommended almond shape nails and instead of white color, she recommended something pinkish but almost white. It was a little bulky for nails but hey what do I know. She said it should last at LEAST 2 weeks. A little less than a week, My left-hand nails caught my hair and yanked a good bunch out because it was between the acrylic and my nails. It was falling apart. I went back upset and just wanted to take the whole thing off but ANNIE was so comforting determined for me to not let this one experience ruin my thoughts on nails and her shop. She redid the ones that came off and replaced the surface of the remaining ones at no charge. Was extremely friendly. Sam did the finishing touch and my nails look amazing!!! Not a very glamorous salon but they do a great job. The salon is basically a room with couches around the perimeter. They put a pillow in your lap and use it as a surface to do your nails. If you're getting a pedicure, they bring out a plastic tub of hot water to soak your feet. The salon is upstairs off the street, just follow the signs. They accept walk-ins and have such a large staff that they can accommodate everyone. I got a peach gel manicure and asked for white flowers with gold centers. Kelly is the only one who does designs and she does such an amazing job. She's very attentive to the picture you give her and recreates it pretty much exactly. $35 gel mani + $5 design = $40 total. They accept cash, credit, and Venmo. If you pay by card, their iPad's default tip options are 20% and 25% (of course with a third option to customize your tip amount). He made me feel comfortable during my time there. Chairs are separated with plastic dividers and everyone wears a mask. Somehow the most expensive yet the worst manicure I've ever gotten. I am not a regular anywhere but I like to spontaneously get my nails done 4-6 times per year for about 20 years (I'm 37) and usually do it on impulse anywhere from a luxury spa to a hole in the wall at the mall. I'm not picky and I don't do fancy extras so I don't usually ask for prices before getting services. I asked for a powder coat manicure. They started dipping my dirty ass nails without clipping, filing, soaking, or anything. I wish is said something right away but I was thinking maybe they would fix or tend to them after. Nope. I got dips so fat they covered most of my cuticles. No attempt to clean under nails or file them down enough to find my cuticles. I tried asking for corrections but resigned to the fact that they just weren't that good and I just wanted out of there. Checking out I asked for price. Place is really gross/cheap looking so I assumed $40 tops but she charged $65 for the worst nail salon experience of my life. I still tipped 20% because as a former device industry worker I don't believe in bad tips but god this was the cringiest tip I have ever given. 5 days later my nail grew off my cuticles which they were built in so they are lifting like crazy. I've had waxing here as well, Jade knows how to leave my brows thick and full and in a flattering lifted shape. They are open later in the evening and take walk ins but it's best to come earlier in the day when it's less busy. They have hundreds of Essie and OPI gel and dip colors. I love how Kelly is attentive to detail and is willing to try new, complicated designs (trust me--I do not make it easy for her). She's great at filing my nails to my liking and goes above and beyond to make sure my nail ideas come into fruition. The location is conveniently by the Montgomery bart station and is a few minutes walk. It's not the prettiest on the inside and it can get a little stuffy but it's worth the wait. Accommodating when I arrived 10 before closing at 7pm. It's a convenient nail place in FiDi and a lot of staff (probably peak hours when everyone is ideally off work). Did a regular mani ($15) in peachy color. I learned a new word when my friend said it looks matte, which I agreed. That's was probably the nail color I was going for to be suiting all outfits. They didn't lotion me nor was there the massage for the brief session, but simply painted the nails. It's the small things that leads to the extra service of going out of the way to please and for me to come back for more. Polite manicurists and for restrooms, you would have to ask someone to bring you down to the basement. It was quite a hassle because they would have to wait for you whenever you're done to bring you back upstairs. Le handled my hands with TLC. She did a spectacular job on sculpting & shaping my nails; taking pride in every little detail. They don't have tables; this was unusual for me but I can understand how not holding your hands over a tabletop allows the client to relax. I literally just got my nails done here 5 minutes ago. I will you what. The lady who did my nails was so rude. She was complaining so much about my dry cuticles and even told her co-worker about it. And they started talking sh*t about me in their own language. Isn't that the reason why we go to nail salon? To get our nails done. Second of all. As you can see in the picture, there was a piece of hair. I had to go back and get it fixed (which she got so annoyed) You can also see the corners of my nails not being properly done. And I asked the lady nicely to fix it and told me that they cant do it Plus. Their place is so dirty. I noticed they were using the same tools for their clients. But I just got off from work and I am so exhausted. I didn't want to argue anymore. Lesson learned. Came into this salon Wednesday 11/13/19. I was promptly sat down with gel nail swatches. After my nail tech handed me the swatches she sat in her chair in front of me and stared at me. I felt uncomfortable and pressured to make a quick color choice leading me to be unhappy with my selection. Fast forward to Tuesday morning 11/19/19 I was typing at my computer (office job) and my right index nail felt weird. I looked down and the entire polish was peeling from my nail. Like the entire freaking nail as if I was a taking a press on off. I removed the nail polish from my right nail and assessed my other nails. With light pressure I was able to remove all 10 nails in less than 2 minutes. The polish came off in large chunks, almost the entire nail each time. TLDR; nail tech made me uncomfortable to quickly choose my color and did not do my gel polish correctly as the polish was NOT even closely adhered to my nails. Absolutely the most SHIT nail service I have ever received in my life. Would absolutely NOT RECOMMEND. I want my money back. read more

He took his time however seemed frustrated when I asked him multiple times to make the nails shorter. In the end, I was satisfied! However, only 5 days after getting my nails done, 3-4 of the nails have chipped. Super disappointing. I reached out to the salon to express my frustration but no response ‍ Lost my business. I have never had my gel nails peel before, I got my nails done on Monday and two nails have peeled by Wednesday and some of my nails are crooked in shape. The salon is super weird DO NOT WEAR A DRESS, they have you sit in lounge chairs and do everything on your lap. For the pedicures they lift your legs up, so I had to cover up with a towel. The do your nails on your lap as well so you get dust all over you. They are also overpriced for the quality. I paid 100 dollars for a mani fill with gel and gel pedicure. They also charged me for the foot/leg massage that should come with a pedicure -- at least every other salon I have ever been to has included a massage. I plan to go back and get my nails fixed and never go back again. read more
