I always liked that there is never really a wait and it's close by to where I work no matter the time of day. I arrived at 4:30pm on a Thursday and there was only one customer inside. There used to be more employees but now it's only the owner and another lady. This time around I stopped by to get a regular mani/pedi and was very disappointed with how the mani turned out. The polish was super old based on how the polish looked inside the bottle. She did three layers and took her time painting them, which I appreciated. It's day 5 and it's already chipping. They overall did a good job but I specifically asked for a matching color for my pedicure and manicure and they gave me two different colors, even when I pointed out that they didn't match. Had to get my gel nails removed but also trying to find a reasonable price for it in the area I honestly didn't need a manicure but I know most places will discount the removal if you get a manicure so why not? The mani was $15 ( i think cheapest in the square radius of the area) and the gel removal was $5. The place looks dingy and im usually not one that complains but if someone is going to cut my nails, there needs to be a level of cleanliness. I saw at the corner back and the table was old. The cup looks like it hasnt been washed for days (where she use to throw her garbage) and the towel she used looks like it was just rinse with water. I asked them not to cut my cuticles just based on concern. She soaked my hands in water and was cleaning my nails and instead of getting new water after the hands were done, she just rubbed lotion with all the dust and gunk i opted for an OPI dark color and i see her struggle getting the polish out as well as her base which means the polish were probably expired. She also did three layer and they were thick because i stayed there for about 30 minutes, walked home and still ended up smudging the polish the reviews are quite deceiving on here read more

VALUE SPOT!! I don't think you can find better service for a cheaper price here in the city. Mai does a great job with my dip powder nails, and at $36 w/o tip, it's definitely a steal! This review will only be for Mai and her dip powder service. I've really enjoyed how my nails have turned out in the two times I've gone to her. She is very detailed and makes sure you like what you get. If you're able to get her on a not busy day where it's just you and her, she is a wonderful conversationalist. She also pampers your hands afterward with a lotion massage and warm towel compress. However, it's worth noting that waxing is her specialty, not nails. Her dip powder service is relatively newer and she is the only nail tech that does it (so make sure to schedule an appointment beforehand!). The color options are also severely lacking and she doesn't do designs, but this place is still great if you're wanting to do a simple nail at an affordable price. The reason why this place isn't getting 5 stars from me is due to the quality after an extended period of time. After roughly two weeks, the topcoat always ends up peeling off, taking away the wonderful shine and leaving the rough matte layer (which is definitely a look by itself, but just not what I wanted). A friend, whom I recommended also come here to get her dip powder done, also had the same thing happen to her as well. In the many times I've gotten my nails done at other salons, this is the first time something like this happened to me, and when I brought it up at my next appointment, Mai didn't seem to want to do much about it. Of course, most people get their nails done every two weeks anyways, so it may not be much of a problem. But personally, I'd prefer getting mine done every 3-4 weeks instead, so it definitely bothered me. Absolutely adore this salon! The ladies are very nice and attentive. I got a manicure pedicure combination for $40 not including the tip. They took me at closing time at the last minute and she let me stay after hours to finish completely drying my nails, what a sweetheart! She took her time removing the calluses and gave me a nice little scrub and massage! There may be a few tiny little imperfections -some extra polish left on my skin, and be careful not to hold your hands too close to the fan as it might mess up your polish- but I would say it's well worth it to come here and it has a great location right off Polk! read more

I got acrylics from here a couple days ago and was cut on my finger during the process. I showed one of the women working and she said and did nothing about it. It has been painful. The experience was also rushed and stressful. The owner is so stressed trying to handle all of the customers she has that the stress rubs off on you. It's also just not a very nice place. My nails look okay, but she was very rough with me and I did not enjoy my time here. I think they either need to hire another worker and rent out a bigger space. I would go somewhere else. read more

I got my nails done last Thursday; I got my nails shaped and then got the Gel Polish on top of my natural nail. I got a pedicure from here today. But I did not get a regular pedicure. I asked to get acrylic on my toes so she did an overlay of acrylic on my toes. I got opi color in red. And another girl did my toe nail art. I asked for flowers on all my toes. Service was good. They have big pedicure chairs with built in massagers on the backs of the chair. Ok so they're *very* cheap. But if you don't mind spend an extra $2, go to any other nail salon. There is one on every block in this city. They are also very dirty. Pedicure feet are washed in the same water that has become dirty from the first cycle of your cuticles and dry skin being removed. They don't drain the water and give you a new cycle as most other salons do. The owner, Mai, is lovely. But she has no control of her staff. Half her staff is super rude and unprofessional. And also incompetent. But she is unable to say anything to them. I've seen people be extremely rude to customers, and Mai is just silent. Not worth your $$, when options are abundant. read more

She's still doing a great job but here are updated photos that I love. She's very responsive and will try different things to make sure the results are exactly what I want. For the hamster photos - I told her that I wanted the nails to be a little more translucent than before (I had been getting the light pink for quite some time now) so we did a few coats of colored powder and she tried two finishing coats of clear white powder- and I love the results. She also tried out a new top coat on me when I told her that I noticed the top layer peeling a bit at the sides, and remembered this change the next time I came in. I received a mani/pedi (both regular) for $35.00 and my friend received a gel manicure for $25.00. The prices are very affordable and the service is great. I don't get my nails done usually. This was a little treat while on holiday so I'm no expert on manicures! However I really like my shellac manicure and it seems to me that the nail technician was very professional and thorough. I'm also no expert on how much manicures should cost but it seemed a very reasonable price to me at $20. I read other reviews which mentioned that the staff weren't friendly and spoke to each other in their own language. The latter was true but I found them perfectly friendly although perhaps not very talkative. I was happy to sit quietly for 30 mins but perhaps if you would like a hat along with your manicure this may it be the place for you. read more

Be careful with the unsanitary environment here!!! Up to age 25, this is the only place I had ever gotten pedicures done. I wasn't the type of girl who pampers with pedicures until one of my girl friends insisted, and this was her spot. I went to MiNi's for a total of 4 years and ended up with toenail fungus in most of my toenails. I was young, YELP wasn't around yet, and I didn't know there was such a thing as "toenail fungus". I learned my lesson the hard way - you don't have to. DON'T GO TO MiNi NAILS!! Now, for the rest of my life I will have ugly toenails because of this "cheap" spot. For the rest of my life I have to carry my own tools, look for sanity nail salons who sterilize their equipment, and DON'T dip feet with fungus into paraffin (a hot bed for that fungus to live). Trust me, this place is cheap but you will pay for the rest of your life if you get toenail fungus like I did at MiNi Nails. read more

This is the worst manicure experience I've ever had!!! The woman literally just dropped a big nail polish on my figures and all other nails were over edgily painted!!! Nail polish was everywhere that I could barely see my fingers. Then I asked the woman to refine my nail polish, it took her 30 minutes and it turned out even worse!
