Decide on who is correct. Is manager correct maintaining there is no association with Amazon pick-up or delivery to local homes 4. Reduce the number of times a cashier leaves the lane to verify a price or where the item is or if it's out of stock. 5. Stock or back enough sour dough fresh BATARD LOAVES of bread so that so many customers looking for it will not need to wait for it or DO WITHOUT IT WHILE the baker explains it is hard to stock it. The north side Lucky Store does see to it that the Batard bread continually stays in stock or bakes it while the customer continues shopping. What a NOVEL IDEA!!!!!! The bakery department here is amazing! The staff here is the sweetest and most helpful. I had ordered my son's cake for his cake smash and Lauren did a phenomenal job. She made it exactly how I wanted it. It was so fresh and so moist. This was one of the best white cakes I have ever had. I am definitely trusting Lauren with my next cake order. She is a sweetheart! This is the second time this week I have walked into Lucky's on Holmes Street and the advertised price was not what was rung up. I normally just go in for a few things because it is convenient. I have noticed that the high prices aren't worth my time so my major shopping I do elsewhere. I had to flag the manager down to get my refund on an item the first time, and i talked to the checkout clerk the second time. There were 2 different prices on the same item so she gave me the discounted price but I was also requested to let Customer Service know. Beware when shopping here, the advertised price isn't what shows up on your receipt. They need to do better. read more

Very good meat market and deli! I enjoy talking to the butcher about special cuts of meat! The service is always professional and friendly, and they have a good attitude. It's a fairly clean store and sometimes, if you watch the ads, have amazing deals! They have a flower area that has some nice arrangements. Wonderful customer service employees! Ordered a prime rib for Christmas and the butcher at Livermore went out of his way to get us the best roast and tie it for us. Lucky's on Concannon....if I could give this location less than one star I would. I encountered the rudest cashier clerk at the self checkout area yesterday 8/27/25. I have never shopped at Lucky but because I was in the area I thought I would try it out. I just needed a few small items. The cashier ( I did not notice her name) but to describe her....she is kind of short with really dark hair, She treated me like I was old a feeble and unable to ring my items, she grabbed my bagged fruit items from my hands, I was trying to scan the label like I do elsewhere, she yelled at me for touching the scale, chided me for using a bakery box for rolls I purchased (3 rolls) at the bakery but I used the bakery box because the provided bags were out at the bakery case area...telling me you only use the box for 6 bakery items and to use the bags.... the bags were out....she was the rudest grocery cashier I've ever encountered. I'm not feeble, old or unable to understand simple instructions. Lucky you had the opportunity to gain another customer, however, you lost one due to your extremely rude cashier. Do better Lucky. I as thinking about changing my grocery store but due to your employee I will continue shop at Safeway. read more

This is a RAVE for the Lucky Wedding flowers. We bought them for my daughter's wedding. They were GORGEOUS. We got so many compliments! 5 days later the bouquets are STILL fresh! I bought a bridal package (amazing deal) and individual bouquets (I needed more than the package allowed), table arrangements and altar arrangements. I cannot stress how beautiful these were in there lovely vases, AND they were packaged for easy transport- and the maid's bouquets came with vases to keep them fresh during the evening! So lovely. Make sure to take the bouquets apart and use them as a floral arrangement after the wedding! The lovely man at Lucky in the produce department could not have been easier to deal with!!!! Highest recommendation for this service. The winery that hosted us was VERY interested in this service- and I tell everyone about it. Would you believe we were the first to order flowers at our Lucky? Do yourself a favor, order flowers here if you have an occasion that needs them. read more

So so disappointed at this Lucky's. We've bought bad food consistently. There was a buy one and get one free on berries. In one day, the strawberries were all bad and fuzzy. My husband bought mushrooms where the top looked ok but inside were smelly and slimy. This is my favorite grocery store in town. I've been going to Safeway all this time and didn't realize I could have been going here this whole time! I love that it's not nearly as crazy as Safeway is, the parking is always ample, the checking lines are usually short wait times and the staff is sooo friendly! I've been here a few times now and my favorite time to come is 7am because it's virtually empty except for the employees stocking the shelves. They always have what I need, too! Gone downhill. I used to love this place for my grocery needs. Well lit, wide aisles, not too much junk (in the form of end caps and things in the aisles you have to move around.) Now it's just like all the rest of the stores, crap everywhere so you can't pass another cart in the aisles, so many types of all sorts of crap on the end so you can't easily move around and now one door In and one door out. Do not buy there garlic bread brand and follow the instructions on the bag. The bag leaked all the melted butter on my leg and left with a 2nd degree burn. Burn specialist says will take 6 months to a year to heal and may leave a large scar. The bag was sealed and butter poured right on my leg. Lucky is not my first choice in grocery stores. That said we needed a few odds and ends to get us through the weekend, so hubby opted for this location. He said it was not very crowded for a Saturday morning. He found the produce was in line with other chains, which is to say lacking in selection and freshness. Items from shelves were fine. The real win for us was a loaf of brown and serve bread by Grace. We can not find artisan bread at any other store in Livermore. I was thrilled. Going to have it with our shrimp salads tonight. The manager (tall blonde woman) needs a different job role. She, in no way, needs to be in customer service any longer. On the evening of 7/3/23 at approximately 6:45pm, my wife and I were grabbing some ribeye that was in the weekly ad (the sign in-store posted right above the section of the meat, etc.) The cashier rang it up, coupon wasn't reading correctly. Normally, no big deal. She asks the "manager" to come over. "Manager" immediately throws her hands up in the air with a look of disgust. She comes over and says it's the wrong meat. Wife says it has a sign, it's on the ad, in my app as clipped, and matches item number, etc. "Manager" gets pissed and says not my problem and stomps away. Then comes back and starts verbally berating my wife. My wife asked her to stop multiple times, almost in tears! Everyone in the store turned around when I had raise my voice over hers and say "ENOUGH!" Completely inexcusable behavior. I will be going all the way up the corporate chain with this matter. I will keep calling and emailing until she is reprimanded. Unacceptable. We have been loyal customers of this lucky for over 15 years. This is our main, almost exclusive, grocery store. NEVER AGAIN. They tend to have a lot of sales on their meat. Decided I'm making a rib roast and I found a decent size for around $30-35. Perfect for about 4 people. This is a first for me: I have never reviewed a grocery store. But my wife and I were in Livermore for the day and needed to make a quick grocery run. This Portola Ave Lucky was the closest one. Let me tell you. We walked into this Lucky and stopped dead in our tracks, speechless. We are intimately familiar with Lucky grocery stores, it's our neighborhood supermarket. But this was like no Lucky we had seen before. This store is immense -- easily twice the size of any Lucky we have shopped in, and makes the supposedly-super Safeway near us a mere piker size-wise. We stumbled around the store, gawking at the widest of wide aisles, available selections, and more. Only visitors, we obviously can't comment on prices, produce quality, etc. But know this Livermore Lucky shoppers: you are envied by visitors from elsewhere in the East Bay! read more

This is my local store, it has the adequate amount of things I need when I need it. I can say though that some of the staff's attitudes could be a little more on the upside. Don't get me wrong, there are some that have been downright helpful and others that make me feel like I'm harshing their mellow. I would love to love this store in the 4-5 star range but they need to work on some things for sure. The place is definitely showing some wear, not sure when they last got a refresh. Maybe they could benefit from a remodel like the Lucky California store across town on Holmes? This is usually my go to grocery store due to the proximity if my house and it's never packed. I went today and noticed that 3 different patrons did not have masks and no employees said anything. Mind you, I was only in there for 15 minutes. I can't imagine how many massless patrons are allowed. Although a lot of people vaccinated now, this is still a risk to public health! The Pharmacy staff at the Livermore Lucky's on Portola is by far the most exemplary of any pharmacy I've ever had the pleasure to visit. I'd been in the Kaiser system for over 20 years but due to a change in jobs my medical coverage changed to Anthem Blue Cross. I took a chance on the Lucky Pharmacy because it is so close to my home. I have never been happier. Linda, Debbie, Stephanie and the gentleman who has helped me (I don't know his name) have gone above and beyond to help me get my prescriptions filled. They have worked with my doctors, helped me get my medications filled easily and check this out they know me by name. In the 20 years I was with Kaiser I was known as "Next". Pros: - Great parking and a shopping cart are plentiful. Cons: - Check out service is by far the worst of all super markets. Checker's have long drawn out conversations with the customer, making check out times longer than my actual shopping times. Tonight, the 1 lane that I was forced to use (only lane open), I waited 10 minutes for the checker to sort out food stamps with a family. While I waited with three others in line, we became very frustrated. - I usually shop on my way home from work (6pm - 7pm). Typically, only 1 live checker is staffed. I've asked for additional open lanes, and they tell me they don't have staff. True, the store typically has 2 or 3 people working in the entire store. Poor customer service, and also a security risk. - Edible food is barely edible. I try not to by groceries there; dog food, bottled beer, and hair products are best. If I need to eat, I'll go a little further in town and shop at Safeway. Advice to Management: - Get some corporate suites to audit the store for quality and customer service. - If you cannot turn the store around, a Whole Foods would be a great gift to the city of Livermore. Large open spaces and awkward aisles, I came in here for a bunch of distilled water as its not so easy to find at Trader Joes or other places. A quick place to come on a lunch break. Next door there are multiple restaurant options: cheesesteak, burger, and a more fancy sit down bar restaurant. Grabbed some impulse items on my way out: donuts, saurkraut and of course the intended and necessary water purchase. Extremely intrusive staff members. Every time I use the self check out the employees think it's ok to stare me down the entire time and invade my space. One lady came into my self checkout and reached over me scanning to "take my basket" which still had items in it. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and don't appreciate your employees coming so close to me with covid. Get a better security system if you're so worried about people stealing. They also don't uphold their coupons. I've used this store many times as it's right down the street from where I live and every self check out person is extremely invading of space and rude. We haven't shopped at this market in years. Last week, I found myself in need of a birthday cake with less than 24 hours to have one made. I knew that Safeway requires more time , and quite frankly, the last cake I got at Safeway looked like a 3rd grader did the icing. Lucky's was able to make my custom and it was tasty, that I ordered another cake for a baby shower, Both cakes were ready at the pick up time, both were beautiful and tasty. And the rest of the market is clean, bright and easy to shop. Unlike the overstuffed, dark, and crowed Safeway . Only giving this market 4/5 stars because the meat counter could use more beef/ chicken items. read more

Not quite a 5-star grocery store by any means. For that to be appropriate for me, it would have to carry more natural foods items such as a nob hill or more exclusive neighborhood market. However this Lucky location is conveniently located near my home and is easily accessible for quickie items to prepare for dinner. I won't critique each aisle... but you can find most name brand or common sold items here. Kind of on the pricey side in comparison to Safeway but of course that's just my personal opinion. I DO like that they have a Redbox machine located inside which makes me feel a little safer when I do rent a movie versus standing outside a 7/11. It also doesn't hurt that I usually see the same faces among the employees. All of my reviews are usually centered around my golden standard and that is customer service *over* product/taste. Yes, if I'm dining out or shopping, whatever, my first reaction will always be to the quality of care and service that I am provided. And this Lucky's does a fair job of that. Sidenote: Think of the term "bidding wars" and I kind of get a sense like I'm somehow in a competition with a fellow Yelper on how many check-ins we can accumulate at this store. Now that I'm totally done with Safeway, hellooooo Lucky. (At least, when I don't get groceries at Target.) The store is bright, clean, and surprisingly empty nearly every time I'm there. My only real beef is with their rewards card thingy program; I just sort of want to scan the card (Safeway spoiled me in that regard, I guess), and I had a devil of a time using it at the self-checkout lane. Fixed the problem, however: now I just make a clerk do all the dirty work, and I stand there and watch them do the work I'd have to do myself at self-check). read more

This Lucky's gave me a counterfeit $20 for change and when I realized the tender was fake, I went back to explain what happened, I was told to come back when manager was on shift to review the camera footage, where I'd be reimbursed after it was reviewed showing the money being handed to me, so I come back and they flat out tell me no they can't help me and had little to none compassion for the matter. I've been going to this Lucky's for years, I even was an employee at one brief point. I don't feel sure I can go to this grocery store and be treated honest and fair anymore. I felt like the criminal trying to prove to them what happened even tho they knew me on a first name basis. Years of shopping and developing history just gone.
