10.13.25: oxtail galore, $12.99/lb

*foodie DEETS here* - review #219 Been coming since its 2018 opening on the far side of Pacific Pearl, Asian foodie plaza by SF Premium outlets in Pleasanton. V I B E S . . . The standard Asian mkt chain convenience in the 'burbs. Bakery & hot deli to the left; veggies section to the right, after freezer aisles; live seafood & meats along the back. P R O T I P S . . . Weekly ad avail in app. Buy a certain amount, get free deli/bakery bucks. Take advantage of 5% off college students Fridays & holiday gift card specials! Mother's Day, Xmas, etc. N O M S . . . Decent variety, mid prices. We usually only come for fresh Chinese veggies after eating/togo at the plaza, but here r some highlights: - live seafood | they can steam or fry up for u! - American Wagyu, ~$20/pkg, (but some turning brown) - oxtail, 10.99-12.99/lb - sliced hot pot meats & goodies - viral peach/mango/lemon-shaped ice cream (3), 11.99 - boba pops, 5.98 HOT DELI, which closes way too early for us: - Congee & Wonton Noodle Soup Station, til ~5p - I get A7. Beef Stew Wonton Flat Rice Noodle Soup, $12.35 - Roasted & Stewed Meat Station, til 6:30p whole duck & chix, pork & char siu, quail, innards, & rice plates. 3-item noodles is filling for 16.99. | everything is BLAND AF tho!!!! - Cuttlefish, 14.99/lb - Pork Stomach, 10.99/lb | prefer plump pcs, not dry, hard ones poking out of the marinade. spoils sour by day's end. - Roasted Quail, 3.25 | try next - Duck Feet & Wings, 6.99/box | fridge at the end of deli aisle - Cooked foods also tasteless | Self-serve Meal Combo box w/ small hot & sour soup, 14.99 - Dim Sum Station | steamed & fried items by pc, better deal per 3 for 4.99. stuffed peppers r huge. spareribs & chix ft, 4.99/dish. - Dining area avail - Return? Yea, for my veggies - Apple Pay: Yep, who doesn't these days? P.S. Appreciate my efforts? Show this (Asian) sista some love by SMASHing reactions & FOLLOW if u don't already!! ;-P Thx, let there be more noms in our futures...

99 Ranch Market deserves a shoutout to Chubby Cattle. While we were patiently waiting for a table at Chubby Cattle BBQ next door, we spend a whopping $270 on groceries at 99 Ranch Market.

Location: Pleasanton, CA in Pacific Pearl shopping center I have never seen so many Asian people in one place outside of Asia! This Asian market is bonkers you guys! Everything you can think of is here and then there's the HOT DELI $15 plate! I stuffed mine pretty good, the bean curd roll thing was great, and the options are endless! Chicken! Pork! Fish! Bean curd! Plus one starch choice! The plate was so heavy! I wish I had more time there. I could spend all day at this place and the eating center around it

I rarely write reviews for grocery stores, but this Ranch 99 is one of the cleanest ones that I have been to. Yes I know it's called 99 Ranch, but I like to annoy people by calling it Ranch 99 growing up. Can't really say much about their cooked food section which some have complained about, but I thought the sesame balls I have gotten from there are solid. I also like their options in the bakery section. Everything seemed fresh when I went. The store is really easy to navigate and it's in a great location with so many restaurants nearby. When I'm heading into the central valley from the Bay Area, I always stop by this store first. Parking is also pretty easy even on weekends.

One of the nicer Ranch 99 near me. They have everything I need to throw a family party or gathering. Crabs right now is at 4.99 per lb. Come and get it before it's all gone!

Special thanks to the front manager, Derek and the wonderful cashier, Serena. These 2 are the folks who make this business work. I parked over by the bank, instead of risking to get stuck in the building parking. I also noticed some patrons parking at the library, which is still very close. There was a ton of samples being handed out, the DJ was still paying music, and lines were long. I wasn't looking for anything in particular but the store was very clean and plenty of employees available to help. They had a ton of yummy stuff available in the grab and go counters, but high key expensive. Did a little walk around and decided to grab some milk. They have so many different types of milk lol. They also had a lot of healthy stuff available. We stood in the self checkout line for about 15 min, which felt overwhelming. I'm happy SL has a great grocery store in the area because the Safeways are all run down atp. I hope to stop by again soon.

Honestly it's a bare minimum type deal but covers its bases, to be honest I'm not sure if they rotate vendors , probably will figure this out when I try and stop by next year. Anyways, the stalls are the farmer's market info, 1 bakery, 1 berry mainly strawberries that I saw this year, a Mediterranean/filipino food stall, a hummus stall and a vegetable stall. Next time or eventually I might get some fruit or veggies if it catches my eye and the prices seem to be decent overall but since there's no competition, I'll admit to think their prices can be a tad high here or there. As for the shawarma and filipino stall, the prices for their meals was pretty good when compared to other food stalls in general. The girls at the stall were very friendly and the food itself was very good overall. The bread stall was pretty good too, I did enjoy their loaf of jalapeño cheese loaf a lot, forgot to mention they sliced it for me and most of their baked goods looked very appetizing and delicious albeit alittle expensive. Overall, being a tad off the beaten path and in a somewhat busy hospital parking lot/main entrance, the open air market is a very nice place to stop by on a Tuesday morning and to walk around and stretch your legs if you want to do something that's a tad different.
