I hope they are premium grade butcher shop as advertised I sadly found it hard to prove it so... It was my second time getting some pork for BBQ as well as some side dishes and ready made soup I taste nothing other than ton of MSG... sorry

Simple and basic but done very well. Seasoned well and not too salty at all. I've only tried beef soups but it's tasty, and huge portions.

This is located in a plaza with plenty of spots in the parking lot. Love the idea of the prepackaged meal, especially the frozen soups. We haven't tried the meat or side dishes yet. I wish they had smaller portions of the side dishes. The staff was friend We've been here multiple times. Tried the Clam Kalguksoo and Spicy Beef Soup. Not all of the frozen soup comes with noodles (on the side) so you'll have to buy it separately or get it across the street at 99 Ranch. It's enough for 2 portions, even 3-4 if you add extra noodles.

I am a regular here. Pretty satisfied with my prior visits. Not sure what had gone wrong this time. The veggies in the pot are blackened and have small black dots all over. Not the usual quality I would expect. No peppers, no tofu as usual. It makes it no point for calling in and reserving in advance.

They have Spicy Crab available. It's spicy, sweet, and the texture is like softer raw scallop. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It gets pretty messy, so I recommend using gloves when eating this dish. I'll have to review the meat and frozen soups after I try them.

Coming across Angus The Butcher Shop on Yelp was such a gem!! I searched up Korean spicy raw marinated crab on Yelp and this is what popped up. Angus The Butcher Shop is a Korean butcher shop, they offer a broad variety of freshly cut meats, a whole lot of banchan, and even some frozen food items too. We originally just came for the crab but ended up walking out with some spicy fish cakes, seaweed salad, and their spicy pork belly too. They take spice SERIOUSLY here - we went home immediately to try everything we got because we were so excited, and the spicy pork belly and the spicy raw marinated crab nearly had us tearing at the eyes but in a good way haha. The crab here was so fresh and is honestly the best raw marinated crab that I've had in the Bay Area. For a little less than $25, the portion was absolutely gigantic - it came with 8+ pieces of half crabs. Eat this with rice to help with the spice though lol! The spicy pork belly was also amazing (and very spicy haha)! The pork had the perfect amount of fattiness. It was generously sauced up so every bite had a whole bunch of flavor. The fish cake and the seaweed salad were only $4 each and we can never resist this, and they were also so good! This initial visit was great, the person who helped us was also really welcoming. We'll definitely be back!

Went here to get NY steak and ended out with American wagyu NY steak. Super friendly shop that has a lot of korean marinated meats and veggies + sides if you wanted to do your own KBBQ. It is super clean and definitely doesn't smell like a butcher's shop, definitely coming back as services was friendly and they seem to offer a good package for bbq your own meats.

    Spicy Pork Lunch Box

We ordered some of their lunch boxes as well as some meat later for shabu shabu. I got the spicy pork lunch box, while some of my family ordered the bulgogi lunch box. I have to say, everything was delicious! I've had lunch boxes like these at other stores, but this one was by far the best I've had! The spicy pork was just the right amount of heat. It was soft and pulled apart really easily. The banchan included pickled radish, mushrooms, spicy bean sprouts, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and egg. It also came with a small portion of rice that I thought was just the right amount for me. It was a really satisfying meal both flavor- and appetite-wise. I will solely be going here for the lunch boxes as they were well-priced and delicious. Another thing to note is that these lunch boxes are only available from Monday to Wednesday between the times of 11am and 3pm. Make sure to get them when you can!

Food: The hot tri-tip sandwich was unfortunately ice cold, lacked flavor, and was overcooked. I had to use a lot of barbecue sauce just to make it enjoyable. I've had this sandwich before and it was delicious, so I'm not sure what happened today. 2/10 The hot pastrami sandwich, on the other hand, was flavorful and one of the best sandwiches my wife says she's ever had. 10/10 We didn't order any sides this time, but we'll definitely try them on our next visit. Drinks: We ordered two waters and one Gatorade. Service: Service was quick and efficient. The team at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I also liked the old school touch of filling out a sandwich order form. Prices are very reasonable and fair. Even though my sandwich wasn't the best on this visit, we'll definitely be back to try the sides and other items on the menu.

And after gazing at their product listing one day, I can kinda tell that they probably service a lot of ethnic shops like taquerias and small brick n mortars. You actually don't see or interact with any of their products directly. Upon opening their public door, there's a small office with a window. There's a current product sheet there with current pricing. You have to go by this and not with what you got in the past, or internet postings, as this sheet will be their current inventory and pricing. And pricing these days can vary greatly from week to week as well as supply. There's also a hanging bulletin board that has a lot of weekly specials. Once you've found something, you just place the order with the nice receptionist. She'll draw up a receipt and take your payment. CASH ONLY (for some reason). You then have to go outside where your car is and wait for a warehouse employee to bring it out to you. They are quick, like I've never had to wait more than 3 minutes. I've tried this place like 3 times now since I work nearby and just hit this up on my way home. Here are some finds: *In a very industrial zone of San Leandro. Close to the Costco but much deeper in industrial streets. Can't see it from a main road. Gotta go under an overpass then parallel a railroad track. Now that I know where it is at, it's a breeze. But first time looking it was a bit of a challenge. *All meats I've gotten thus far are frozen solid. But nicely frozen where you won't have to break anything separating things. Lots of things are well sealed in tight cryovac. So will have to spend time defrosting goods, can't go home and start cooking. But I just put whatever I'm planning on cooking in the fridge for a good day and just cook it the next day or so. And in what meats I've gotten even though frozen at one point is still of really good quality once defrosted. *Beef seems somewhat 'Choice grade' but I haven't seen any labeling to say so. Steaks I've tried are meatier and chewier than most grocery stores in my area, but in a good way. Feels more natural and not as 'water-y'. I've only tried 1 lb Rib Eye Steaks and thin cut NY strips so far, and have been more than pleased. Also tried some lamb shoulder chops and they too made for good dishes. *Pricing less than retail grocery stores unless there is mass grocery sale. Competive with Costco beef pricing but here you'll have to defrost something slowly. But you won't have to go through the Costco grind of getting aggravated in the parking lot, weaving through hundreds of people and waiting in life-sucking lines. I mean I'll still go to Costco, but if I can go to Costco less, then I've just freed up a big part of my personal time. *If I'm ever gonna feed a big group, big bbq, holiday party, big potluck etc., this will be a legit option. You can get cases of stuff here, whole ribeyes and briskets, cases of chicken/pork/lamb. They even have bacon, sausage and common cheeses on wholesale. And a big draw here is they have a ton of ethnic meats, which is why I'm sure they deal with a lot ethnic mom n pops. Tripe, suadero, beef cheeks, pork necks, livers all here. Probably won't find that stuff at Costco. *Warehouse hours, open like super early like 6-7 am and close by noon. Works for my hours but not for many others. Good fit for me, so they'll become a resource for me.

Brisket at C&H Meat is a 100x better in terms of flavor and quality for the same price compared to 99 Ranch - $12.99/lb. They have a pretty cool market section that includes craft beer and basic refrigerated/frozen korean goods on the left wall. There is also a small produce section to the left of the butcher counter - not the freshest produce I would say, but not bad if you need to grab something like soybean sprouts and don't want to make another stop. I'd recommend you come here earlier in the day as they do run out of meats towards closing time. Went about 1.5 hours before closing on a Saturday and they were practically cleared out on meats.

My rotation has usually been their chicken leg quarters, ribeyes, lamb rib chops, and pork steaks. Recently, I made tandoori lamb chops (my favorite dish) with their American lamb, and it was honestly one of the best versions I've ever made (photo attached). A few extra notes: * Go during the week if you can. It's less crowded and the experience is more personal -- you get to actually talk to the folks behind the counter. * The walkways are tight. Not their fault, just something to be aware of if you're on the taller or bigger side. * Hours can be tough for a 9-to-5. And spirits (bourbon, rum) would be a fun addition. Overall, a great business and a real value-add to the community. I'll keep coming back - highly recommend checking out!
