This is one of the nicer grocery stores in the immediate area. This store is well maintained, the shelves are always stocked, they have quality items, it's clean and the employees are very friendly/helpful. The ready made food items seem more fresh & better prepared here than many other stores. They tend to have items that other stores don't & are conveniently located near the freeway and most everything else. This store is situated in the middle of everything, good prizes on items that I love! They got fresh produce and quality meats at reasonable prizes. In this area they have an EV charging, wide parking area which is co-dependent on other retail outlets. At all time, the store is well maintained, neat and tidy. As always, the employees are willing to help if you ask. With the apps, if you phone number does not work as it perrains to mine, let them scan the code from your phone, at least you.can get points and your clipped items. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at your Hayward location. On Friday, 11/29, I called and spoke to three different associates who all informed me that I could return the kombucha, as long as it was unopened and I had the receipt. However, when I went into the store on 12/2, two associates told me I could not return the item because it was alcohol. I asked for clarification, as I was not made aware of this policy either on the receipt or in the store. I requested to speak with the manager, Dennis, and unfortunately, his response was unprofessional. He was dismissive, rude, and sarcastic, and when I asked him to show me where it was stated that alcohol is non-returnable, he was unable to provide any evidence, either on the receipt or in the store. He even made a comment about being from Whole Foods and implied that they follow the same policy, which was irrelevant to my situation. I find this entire experience very frustrating and unsatisfactory. The lack of clear communication about your return policy, combined with poor customer service, has left me extremely upset. I would appreciate it if this matter could be resolved promptly. ALSO MAYBE RETRAIN YOUR ASSOCIATES TO HAVE BETTWR COSTUMER SERVICE. AND STATE WHAT IS NON REFUNDABLE ON YOUR RECIEPTS. read more

This store is absolutely awful! I went in to buy groceries today. The store was almost empty as far as customers shopping. I didn't see any checkers, so I went through self-check. I started scanning items, and the self-check needed to be cleared because of a non-existent bagging error. I waited several minutes and finally saw an employee. I asked her for help. She rolled her eyes and paged for someone to come to self-check instead of clearing it herself. I waited seven more minutes, and I just left. Left everything on the self-check and all my items in the cart. Horrendous customer service. No wonder it was empty. read more

Idk what happen but the 2 women they have there now are just ugh sloppy sandwiches, ingredients are old. No organization. One lady had the nerve to say "this isn't a restaurant" just distasteful! Well deserved 2022 Update End of Year Review. Cheap Eats on a budget through Door Dash....... My husband and I did not want to cook and it was getting late outside to walk to the store to get dinner arranged. So around Mid Afternoon, I placed an order for a Lucky's Meal Deal. You get 1 Rotisserie Chicken of your choice plus 2 sides. I picked out the Smokehouse flavor chicken plus potatoes with gravy and macaroni salad. The portions of the potatoes and macaroni salad were just right for two people and there were absolutely no left overs. All this cost just $19.99 plus tax and delivery fees. Was very impressed. I love chicken but this is the best way to go for a quick dinner and prep was maybe 15 minutes to reheat a little at 325 according to the instructions on the bag for oven heating. read more

im giving this review 3 stars because the property manager and the maintenance team cleaned the parking and got rid of the drug dealing and the unhoused and the trash only after the city came after them! luckys corporate which is savemart has no idea and can care less about this property! they refuse to fund for the resources that are needed to keep the property in good standards. that is what i call a corporate slumlord! fencing is needed around the property on harder road to keep the unhouse from camping and leaving a mess every day. security was caught sleeping on duty instead of monitoring the property. the dumpsters are left out and not locked so there is a lot of illegal dumping by people. trash everywhere! savemart corporate you need to do better for the community that you serve in! read more

Overall, i think this Lucky's is great to shop at...clean, organized, fresh produce, nice meat selection, good floral section, friendly checkers and it smells clean (sorry, can't vouch for their bathrooms!) This morning i was picking up some cantaloupe and watermelon and the nice produce guy (mustached) wearing a hat saw me staring at the bin....thankfully, he helped me pick out a watermelon and gave me advice on how to choose one. WOW! how nice. Good to know....so no need to stick my nose to it? no need for a thunk test? no shaking? ...i thanked him and he was just so friendly...rarity these days. After leaving the produce dept with a smile, I do more shopping and geesh, staff and other shoppers sure are friendly in the morning...smiles, good mornings, hellos...(YAY, nice people do exist while shopping!) I know this location can get a bad rap (and made the news about a shooting in the parking lot) but hey i don't blame the stores at all because this place can attract some 'interesting characters' later in the day which is unfortunate. read more

I have been buying liquor at Lucky because they offer 10% discount if a person buy 6 bottles; however, on the shelf they frequently only have 5 bottles of the kind that I want. A number of times I stopped by, the manager is at lunch and no one is able to go in the storage room to get a case or the 6th bottle for me. I recommending management to have at least 10 bottles, particularly Kessler, on the shelf so that customer like myself can just shop whenever the store is opened instead of shop whenever the manager is available. read more

I would rather cross a large intersection to shop at this Lucky than wade through the miserable employees and dirty conditions at the Safeway near my house. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always helping to make my shopping experience better. While they don't always have every item I am looking for, they are well-stocked, clean, and provide a nice, friendly shopping atmosphere. The lines are usually quite short whenever I stop in, whether for a large haul or just a couple of items. I would recommend this Lucky to anyone, especially in comparison to their competition, the Safeway down the road. read more

The bakery department is hit and miss here. Every year, reluctantly, I place a cake order here. It's always the same order, yet every year, it yields different results. One year the cake wasn't even made. One year, my cake was made perfectly! (Exactly what I asked for, and ordered) And multiple years, I receive a half ass completion of my order. It's a chocolate fudge double layer round cake, with strictly chocolate fudge Rosettes all over it. That's it. No writing, no other icing, no flowers, just chocolate fudge. This year I placed my order with the bakery manager who was very rude to me and told me that my cake couldn't be made the way I wanted it. She also overcharged me for the cake, that wasn't even delivered as I asked for it. This cake costs me $16.99 every year. She charged me $18.99 and told me I was asking for a lot and they couldn't do it. Ha! I didn't ask for the Mona Lisa, I asked for a simple chocolate fudge cake. The cake I received was pretty (Thank you Keisha), but only had rosettes on top of the cake, not on the sides, like I asked for. My order even had a hand drawn picture of what I wanted. Directions were not followed. Again. For the record, I love this store! I shop here almost daily. But I will not be ordering another cake here. It's too frustrating. Tommy is great! The worst deli department I've ever seen at a grocery store. I came to the deli department at 8:50 to ask the person closing a simple question. "What time do you close?" I just wanted to make it in on time the next day after work to buy a thanksgiving meal for my family; knowing deli was closed already tonight. All i get is someone literally shooing me away telling me to go home. She refused to answer a single question that i had and then continued to speak agressively to me as i was walking a away in a different language in the same aggressive tone. I honestly like this location and have had good experiences until now. but this individual closing deli 11/21 has completely ruined coming here for me. This store in conveniently located off the Jackson St Exit in Hayward and is an easy stop for me on the way home. The Store is rarely crowded and normally has everything I need with the exception of some produce. I've noticed that there is a lack of 1 or 2 fresh Herbs on a normal basis, either I cannot find Cilantro or Basil, not a huge deal but kind of a pain sometimes. Just had an unfortunate experience here, about an hour ago and I am still feeling a little bad about. First just let me say that I do appreciate the cleanliness, organization of the store and employees good attitudes, I used to shop at the nearby Safeway but got terrible service EVERY TIME I shopped there. This store was a breath of fresh air and I always pop in to check out the deals and fresh meat and produce. However, head clerk Don, treated me with an attitude so unprofessional that it made me feel he should be called out on it. I checked out at the quick checkout, asked for 20 back and then forgot about it like a dummy. I walked to my car and realized my mistake so I jogged back to the store and informed the lady who was running the quick check out lanes. There were two young kids, around 13 years old on the check out stand I was on and when she asked them about it they became nervous and wouldnt give a straight answer. I asked if there were cameras to review, so she asked Don and was told it would be an hour wait....the kids were still in the store and I felt the situation could be resolved quicker. After I was informed who Don was I asked him if something could perhaps be done before the kids were totally gone. I may have been a little excited as I am on a budget and 20 was gas for the week. I did not expect him to jump right there and then, and I dont feel I asked in a rude or beligerent way, so the attitude head clerk Don gave me was unexpected and definitley upsetting. He had 3 customers in line, and turned to me saying "I cant just leave! What do you want me to do!?' He talked to me as if I were his child I told him I didnt expect him to get off right there and then, just if he could do anything before the kids who were now in the parking lot were totally gone Again he replied in an unfriendly, unapologetic tone "Well youre going to wait" I stood there, watching as more customers poured in. Eventually he did close off his lane, grabbed my receipt and went upstairs. He came back down with a smirk on his face "Sorry cant view the cameras, I dont know the pin to get access" I asked if I could come back tomorrow "Sure, yeah come in the morning" Again with the terrible curt attitude. I get it, its my fault and I was going to be apologetic about the inconvenience on my part, the quick stand lady treated me with dignity and was even sorry I was out 20, the girl bagging groceries even gave me an apologetic look...but head clerk Don? He treated me pretty bad, and made me look like a bigger fool in front everybody. Would it be too much for head clerk Don to have talked to me normally, with a little respect, even if he had to fake it? If he is unable to deal with sudden unexpected issues that can arise with the appropriate level of professionalism his title requires then what is he doing in this field? I no longer care about the 20 dollars, I just hope Don is reminded how to talk to another person and reminded that HE sets the example for all other employees read more

They have tocino and lumpia shanghai and other Filipino food items in the frozen freezer section. They have an Asian aisle with a bunch of stuff, not just a few items like Walmart's Asian aisle. Best part, is that the Asian products are priced just like Island Pacific. This is really exciting for an Asian shopper like me... Bye Island Pacific... I will be Going to Lucky's from now on to get the basic Asian items so I can collect the Lucky's stamps for my free cookware... Until January anyway. Crowded but clean. Overall the market is fine, but beware of their meat counter. They engage in a variety of shady practices including but not limited to: mislabeling meat, hiding flaws, and leaving so much fat on the meat that up to 25% of the weight that you bought isn't meat, it's extra fat that you have to take time to remove and throw away. If they'll cheat on labeling, cheat on weight/fat, and cheat on hiding flaws, what else will they cheat on? Edit: In a comment Lucky customer service asks me to contact them and provides a link. The link is to a form that requires a lot of personal information to be able to submit the form. If they *really* wanted my input, they wouldn't demand enough information to enable identity theft just to be allowed to contact them. Compared to Safeway, the lines at Lucky's move much quicker! They also have a lot more vegan selection than Safeway. Other than that, they're no good. I have purchased fruit from this location several times, such as strawberries, raspberries, etc. The last few times I've purchased fruit, it has been MOLDY! Check the fruit before you buy it. One time I checked all the strawberry containers and they all had mold on them. Also, the workers at the Deli/ Food area do not use gloves! Once the lady was taking out pasta and got the sauce all over her thumb and she just wiped her BARE thumb on the container and gave it to me. SHE WASN'T WEARING GLOVES! That's super disgusting.
