Fried Pork Chop with Salt & Pepper, green beans with garlic, beef with bamboo

food: best Chinese place in Bloomington, food always hits, portions are also very worth the price, my fav :) service: the auntie remembered me when I came back to visit! she's super sweet & showed me she cares ab her customers. Note: they still don't take card so bring cash ambiance: it's fine to dine in, have done it multiple times but this is perfect lazy day takeout food

Hands down, my all time favorite fast food Chinese restaurants in town. I asked if they had sweet and sour pork and they told me no, but they have other pork options. I got home and took my food out and they made me sweet and sour pork!!!! All this food was only $26, and it's absolutely amazing. I've only eaten there in person once, and it's very laid back and clean. Next time, I need to remind myself to give them a big fat tip for everything they do!! I love them

I ordered delivery from here and at first I thought it was a bit pricy, but once I saw the huge portion sizes it totally made sense. The food itself was amazing. The green beans tasted so fresh and still had a bit of crunch too them, and were so flavorful with the garlic. The tofu was also really great. The sauce was the perfect level of salty, sweet, and umami, and the portion was huge, I was able to eat it for dinner again the next day after frying it up with some rice. I'm so sad I didn't get to eat here again before I left Bloomington, would totally end up frequenting this place.

Kung pao chicken

This place used to be a frequent haunt when I lived in Bloomington. Always teeming with students and a very stern lady used to run it 13 years ago, not anymore though. On our way back from Spring Mill Park, we decided to keep our hunger at bay till we reached Lucky Express. Things seemed almost the same and food definitely good as before. We were hungry and nostalgic and wanted our kids to experience the food we had raved about, so we ordered too much ! Pork Dumplings that my son absolutely loved and wouldnt share. Veggie lo mein that was quite good and shared amongst us. Chilli chicken and Kung pao chicken - each bite flavorful and packs a punch! We got a lot of leftovers to enjoy later and wish we had more. If you live in Bloomington, you already know about this place but if you dont live there, please do visit this hole in wall gem.

My fiancee and I ordered from here, I got honey chicken, he got satay chicken and pork dumplings...AMAZING FOOD!!! Top notch flavor all around the board!!! The lady that runs the front of the house is ALWAYS so kind and generous, but today she went above and beyond!!! She included free spring rolls into our order! It definitely made a bit of a bad day 10x better!!! We love this lady and this restaurant so much!!! We 10/10 recommend this restaurant! Especially if top of the line service and life changing food is high on your list of priorities!!!

Very good Sichuan style food. compare food from LA, tasted better&cheaper

Love it. Shichuan style- spice food. Taste better and cheaper than LA. We will be back when we are in Bloomington.

Salt and pepper fish: Already ate some, but the portion is good for the price. AND THE RICE lol SO BIG.

I heard good things about this restaurant and I was really craving Chinese food so I called to order. The lady who picked up the phone was really nice and made sure to remind me it was cash only. Thanks! I ordered the salt and pepper fish fillet and it's good! Crispy on the outside, soft and fresh on the inside. I like how the salt and pepper seasoning is not too overwhelming, but I do wish I had a side of hot chili oil with it. It would be even better with more spice! And the rice is HUUUUUGE. I was trying to remember if I got another entree! Nope, it's just the rice lol But it can be eaten for a couple meals, so I'm happy!

Greasy salty msg loaded food. Not particularly authentic. Dining room is disgusting. Cash only is a pain.

Chinese food here is good. It tastes good. It's not like most other Chinese restaurants that only have western style Chinese food.

On multiple occasions, I have watched the chefs carefully prepare meals while diligently sanitizing their workspaces after each dish, ensuring a high standard of hygiene is consistently upheld. The menu offers an extensive and diverse selection, which I greatly appreciate. While I have several favorite dishes, I am continually encouraged to explore new options thanks to the wide variety available. The restaurant caters to a broad range of tastes, featuring not only American-style Chinese cuisine but also a rich selection of authentic Chinese, Korean, and Japanese dishes, along with a few American offerings. The staff is courteous and attentive, providing excellent service with every visit. The food is always served hot, flavorful, and in generous portions. There is often so much so that it is difficult to finish a meal in a single sitting. I confidently recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a high-quality experience, and it has even earned the approval of our native Chinese friends, which speaks volumes about its authenticity and overall excellence.

I was had someone come to my table to take my order and bring my food but no one came by again after I got the food, so I went to the register to pay. Maybe a bit of a language barrier with the staff. I asked for jelly in my drink and got tapioca boba instead and generally felt like they didn't really understand what I was saying. I got a tofu rice bowl with miso sauce and a green milk tea with boba. The rice bowl was the perfect size for one meal, and there was a lot of tofu which made it filling. It was simple, with just the protein and sauce over steamed greens and rice, and I felt like it was pretty healthy. It didn't blow me away but it was good! The green milk tea was also good, strong but not too sweet. Some versions of the menu call it matcha but it very much tasted like green tea, not matcha. I think it was from a powder mix but that's fine. Reasonable prices. If I remember correctly, the rice bowl was about $13 and the boba was about $6 including the topping. I liked the food and would definitely eat here again.

Judy's Kitchen is a Taiwanese style kitchen meaning they serve roasted meats like pork (Char Siu) and duck. They also have some Taiwanese staples like their popcorn chicken and beef noodle soup. They also have bubble tea made from real ingredients like taro or red bean as often times, boba places use powder to make the tea base. Before we moved from Bloomington entirely, my fiancé and I wanted to eat here one last time. He got his favorite, the hot pepper chicken, and I got the beer noodle soup for the first time. Both dishes didn't fail us. The hot pepper chicken is stir fried in a lot of chiles but actually isn't as hot as you think. It has a slow build and is tolerable for something with an average spice tolerance like me! The beef noodle soup was heavenly. It's similar to pho but is sweeter and more gingery. You need to try it to understand! I'll miss Judy's so much and hope it's still around when I visit Bloomington.

The lo mein was very…read moretasty, the noodles were tender, there were lots of vegetables, and the sauce wasn't too oily. The serving size was perfect for dinner. When I first saw the Thai milk tea, I thought it looked pale compared to the distinct orange colour most Thai tea has, and I worried it would be weak, but it was actually a nice milk tea with a subtle Thai-style spice, and the boba were supremely good. The guy who takes orders comes off as very unfriendly. I am used to no-nonsense Cantonese service and I don't think that's what this is; it feels like he doesn't want you to order. The first time I tried to order here I kind of got intimidated out of it because he told me it would be a 20 minute wait for food as I was just opening my mouth to order and the way it was delivered, I thought that was his way of telling me to go away. There was no 20-minute wait this time (I guess they were less busy) but it was the same vibe. I do intend to eat here again and look forward to it, I'm just not setting high expectations for the service.
