    Three Cup Chicken
    Bronson S.

I've gone here twice for lunch after running some errands in the mall. They have a lot of authentic and good sounding options that I end up wanting to order half of the menu each time I come. My first time I got the three cup chicken and wontons in chili oil. Both were hot and fresh. The three cup chicken was really good with a slightly sweet and salty flavor. Slices of ginger and onion added good flavor as well. The wontons were large and the filling and chili oil also had great flavor. The second time I got the spicy pig ears and cucumber salad. Both have good flavor and the fact that they're both cold dishes makes them good for when it's hot in the summer like this. One of my favorite things about this is that the food was served in tupperwares. As a student that's only here for two months, I didn't want to spend money on tupperware for such a short period of time. Now I just use the tupperware the food came in! Overall, food and service are great, definitely not what you would expect of a restaurant in a mall food court. Would recommend!

I ordered the roast duck with rice and it's a pretty decent portion for the price. The skin was crispy, the meat was fresh, and they gave some pretty good cuts!

This spot is located in College Mall, in the food court. The staff is very friendly. You do gets tons of food, but it just did not have the flavor I was looking for or that I have had at other similar restaurants. I ordered the spicy duck and could not even finish my meal. The rice was bland and the spring rolls were not much better. The food is edible and not unbearable. Many people seem to like this place though, this is just my honest take on it.

Top: beef noodle soup, a Taiwanese food staple and bottom: hot pepper chicken. Despite the chiles, not as hot as you might think!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Bloomington and even better, has the seal of approval from my Chinese mom! Judy's Kitchen is a Taiwanese style kitchen meaning they serve roasted meats like pork (Char Siu) and duck. They also have some Taiwanese staples like their popcorn chicken and beef noodle soup. They also have bubble tea made from real ingredients like taro or red bean as often times, boba places use powder to make the tea base. Before we moved from Bloomington entirely, my fiancé and I wanted to eat here one last time. He got his favorite, the hot pepper chicken, and I got the beer noodle soup for the first time. Both dishes didn't fail us. The hot pepper chicken is stir fried in a lot of chiles but actually isn't as hot as you think. It has a slow build and is tolerable for something with an average spice tolerance like me! The beef noodle soup was heavenly. It's similar to pho but is sweeter and more gingery. You need to try it to understand! I'll miss Judy's so much and hope it's still around when I visit Bloomington.

You guys... This is the best Pork Hock in Indy... And it's found at Judy's Kitchen in Bloomington. It is for sure onolicious.

The secret to my youthful appearance is the braised pork Hock at Judy's Kitchen. The sticky collagen and we'll seasoned pork hocks are served with baby bok over rice or noodles. Today I opted for the rice, soaks up all the deliciousness that is a treat in itself. For the Hawaii people visiting it's shoyu pork. For the Filipinos, it's braised pata. My aunt makes a version of this there's similar in flavor but she uses pineapple juice as the braising liquid. So it's sweet and salty. They make excellent chicken wings. their char siu and roost duck are delicious as well. It's nice to see a restaurant like this at a mall with more ethnic flavors as well as the standard fare. After a night of drinking, this is the food I want to eat, but they're closed at that time. So I guess I will drink during the day. Come here with an open mind and try something your haven't had before. It's a good place to broaden your gustatory horizons.

Finally checked out Judy's Kitchen in Bloomington. The food was amazing!!!! The prices are great. Authentic Taiwanese food.

Three cup chicken. As you can see it's such a huge portion, they had to put the rice in a separate bowl! Lasted us for two meals.

I *love* this place for authentic Taiwanese food! My family is from mainland China, so it's actually really exciting for me to come to restaurants owned by Taiwanese families because their dishes are different and unique, but with familiar flavors. I've tried a variety of dishes from them, and they are all delicious! I do prefer their dishes with rice over the noodle soups though. The broth is always a little bland for me and I know there's a problem when I'm dumping in hot sauce more for flavor than spice. I've always enjoyed their rice dishes, but be careful--the prices have a pretty big range. I ordered Three Cup Chicken without looking at the price and was surprised when it cost me 12.95 when other dishes like Curry Chicken costs 7.95. In the end, the price definitely makes sense and is worth it because you get so much more stuff with the pricier dish; I just wasn't expecting it. Last but definitely not least, Judy's Kitchen is hands down the best bubble tea I've ever had in the States. I always get their Taro because they use real taro! The result is a slightly nutty and creamy black tea with the softest tapioca pearls. I also love that I don't have to tell them to use less sugar; they do it themselves because they care about letting the tea shine! Sometimes they run out of taro, so I've had their other flavors as well. None of them are made with powder so everything tastes very fresh and natural. I definitely have missed this place since moving and will always come back whenever I visit Bloomington!

This is real, authentic home-cooked Taiwanese food. It is my go-to comfort food place whenever I want something that tastes like home. They have the best bubble tea in town in my opinion. It's made from real tea, real taro and real red beans, no flavored powders anywhere, and it's not cloyingly sweet. I like how their food tastes "lighter" (i.e. not overly flavored with MSG) than most other Chinese food places in town. The roast duck is incredible, and so are the beef rice/noodle soup, minced pork rice/noodles, the spicy chicken, and the "three cups" chicken. And if you're a fan of Asian "tea leaf" eggs, you can add one of those to your meal too. I also love their blanched vegetables - truly homestyle and reminds me of what my grandmother would cook at home. My usual order here is the minced pork rice with an added tea egg. Keeps me full for hours, y I don't feel stuffed!

There's always a good amount of people at Judy's Kitchen and it's a quick bite to grab if you're visiting the mall or just want face Chinese food. There's a good amount of choices on the menu for a reasonable price ($5-$15) and the portions are fair. One of the critiques I have is that the food is a little bit bland. It's nice for a quick pick up but if you want more flavorful food, I would suggest going to other Chinese restaurants. However, I do see a lot of Chinese people eating here so it is a popular place.

    Minced pork over rice

Judy's is an interesting little establishment. You know how Tyler Florence had that TV show about non-chain, family-owned, home-cooking food court restaurants and you thought "wow, that's a good idea" but you've never actually seen one in real life? Well that's Judy's. I would say the menu is mostly Taiwanese with some other authentic Chinese dishes, and also a few random things like some Korean stuff. This is in no way, shape, or form your typical mall food court Asian food. This stuff is authentic. I had the minced pork over rice, a dish I have seen on menus a few places before but never tried. It has a very interesting flavor. It almost reminded me of like...Salisbury steak. It tastes a little funny at first but you get used to it as you go. The dish grew on me...I might order it again. My mom had the minced curry chicken over rice. It was SO GOOD! Oh my goshhhhh. The chicken and the potatoes with the white rice and that yellow curry sauce..delicious. Not overly spicy, more of a gentle warmness. Definitely would order again. My dad had the roast duck noodle soup. Also a good choice! The broth, noodles, and duck itself were all good. I might not order this personally but it was still a tasty dish. I will totally come back here. I'm sure that this blows away all of the other food court options here. I want to try the fried chicken and rice! --------UPDATE!--------- Came back to Judy's! I had the roast duck with rice. Very good flavor, the duck was rubbed with a tasty blend of herbs. However I would not recommend eating the entire thing in one sitting like I did. It was legit a HUGE portion size, like 1/4 of an entire duck. Also their little plastic silverware isn't even close to enough to eat this properly...we just dug in with our hands even though we probably looked like Vikings gnawing on mutton. My dad liked his spicy duck as well.

Needed to grab a quick lunch today while I was at the mall, but I'm currently on a no-beef diet (and rather tired of chicken) so it's not always easy for me to find something to eat. Luckily, Judy's Kitchen had a Korean Jjamppong Seafood Noodle Soup on their menu, so I ordered it. The soup was served in a huge bowl; full of meaty shrimp, clams, crab, squid, and cabbage which were all piled on top of a generous serving of noodles. The seafood and noodles were swimming in a deep red broth that had a wonderful kick of spice to it. Absolutely delicious. I'll attach my photo, but the one someone already posted is probably a better view.

My boyfriend and I come here when we don't feel like cooking and want food that we could have for two meals. The portions are large for the price. Which, for two college students, is a good thing. We normally don't go to College Mall to shop. Usually if we have to run to Target, we'll go to Judy's Kitchen. Or on occasion we've gone there just for Judy's Kitchen. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. However, love beef noodle soup, and I feel like theirs is lacking in a little flavor of the broth, but the meat is as tender as it should. I'm just amazed how authentic it is for a stop in a mall foodcourt. It's honestly one of a kind.

It was simple, with just the protein and sauce over steamed greens and rice, and I felt like it was pretty healthy. It didn't blow me away but it was good! The green milk tea was also good, strong but not too sweet. Some versions of the menu call it matcha but it very much tasted like green tea, not matcha. I think it was from a powder mix but that's fine. Reasonable prices. If I remember correctly, the rice bowl was about $13 and the boba was about $6 including the topping. The milk foam added texture and creaminess more than sweetness. - Brussels sprouts: I appreciated that I had the ability here to order a big bowl of vegetables, not an option at most bubble tea or KFC places. $8 for fried Brussels sprouts looks steep on paper, but one order is a whole meal-sized bowl. I visited during mid-afternoon on a weekday where they were not very busy. The staff were very pleasant. They greeted me when I came in and brought my food to my table. They have two electronic kiosks for ordering, but I ordered with the staff since there were no one waiting at the time. The shop design is very cool, with two levels. Most tables have outlets.
