We loved the food. Flavourful and fairly healthy. I got the beet and walnut salad, my partner got the green goddess Caesar salad plus some chicken wings and our kids got the nachos. Very vegetarian friendly, and excellent seating especially for a family of four with first time fliers that loved kneeling on the booty bench to see the planes take off. The staff was friendly! Lucky Buns is alright. I got a little confused because there was a sign saying wait to be seated but there was no attendant, so I walked forward more and the servers kind of looked at me confused. This continued till I waved them down and they told me to just sit anywhere. I ordered a burger and fries. I'd say the burger was not great. The fries were standard. Popular and busy location at the opening of terminal 2 at DCA. Sat at the bar and service was quick and good. Their old fashioned cocktail was tasty and well mixed. I was leaning towards a chicken sandwhich based on posted pictures but the bartender swayed me to the standard burger. Mistake because the burger was good, but not great. Not her fault. The chicken sandwhiches look delish. Fries come with an interesting vinegar based white sauce that I found to be delicious. The portion is also huge so you get your money's worth, but I like my fries crispier. Not their fault. But you can't go wrong with them. I asked for a side of ranch and it tasted like it was homemade and great. Better than mist airport burger restaurants. Lots of TV's to watch your favorite sport too. read more

My family decided to eat at this place before our flight. While the burger was fine, the 3 chicken sandwiches we ordered were dry and it seems the chef decided to soak them in their sauce to try and hide it. Sorry, that didn't work. Good airport food Our vacation has come to an end, it was time to fly home. One place we ate at while visiting DC was Lucky Buns at the Wharf, so when we realized there was another one here at the airport, our lunch pick was obvious. For lunch I had their Belly Bun, a double patty 1/2 lb cheeseburger that includes bacon and their lucky sauce. This tall, messy, juicy, flavorful burger was a hit with me, just like the one I had earlier in DC. The quality and price were the same, there was no cutting corners or gouging just because we are all trapped at an airport. They appear to be understaffed; no one came by my table for about 10 minutes to take my order, then it took an additional 5 minutes to receive my beverage (and even longer to get the water I had asked for at the time of ordering). Food (green goddess caesar salad w avocado, paid $3.50 extra for avocado) came just after the water, was meh. Wildly underdressed, had 4 small slices of avocado in it. Asked for some more dressing, took another 10 minutes and a walk-up to the counter for it to come. Of note, I asked to order ginger beer (which is included in cocktails on their menu), but they were not able to accommodate that/just gave me a direct no since I didn't want alcohol in it. Ordered ginger lemonade instead. Overly sweet, tasted like pre-squeezed lemon that comes in a plastic lemon-shaped bottle and sits in your fridge, barely flavor of ginger. Had a 3 hour layover and wanted a spot with a good beer selection, and a good sandwich. They had one of the better draft beer selections in the entire airport. Wish they had more hazy's to choose from but the one they did have was tasty. Hard choice between the fried chicken sandwich selection and burger selection, but ended up going with the belly bun burger on the recommendation of the bartender. This was not a great experience. Came here early on a Saturday and the waitress was almost nonexistent. Took a bit for her to show up and after she took my order I pretty much didn't see her again. There were about 7-10 other tables that she was serving BUT she would disappear for long periods of time. Another waiter came out and helped at some point but I had to track someone down for the check by the end which isn't great considering this is an airport location and you have limited time. I had the breakfast sandwich which was super greasy. To be fair, it's sausage, egg and cheese but even the bread was buttered so it was super heavy. Damn. I really wanted to like this because I'm a sucker for good branding but this was across the board disappointing. I got the namesake lucky bun, which is basically their take on a classic burger. The meat was dry and unseasoned. So incredibly bland and flavorless. There was some sort of oil that dripped all over the burger and the packaging, as well as through the bag. It was a mess. The bun was soggy because of this and the burger fell apart in my hand. Very difficult to eat. Only redeeming things - there was a nice subtle spice and the pickle had a good crunch. That is the only reason I (VERY) begrudgingly gave this two stars. I also got a ginger lemonade which was way way too sour. Like. Warhead candy sour. Which I love as a hard candy but is so undrinkable in liquid form. I know it's a big ask for airport food to be good but this was very disappointing. Happy to see a new lucky buns opened at the airport. Most of the Chicken sandwiches are spicy so watch out if you can't handle the heat. I had the chicky bun which is a tandoori chicken and wasn't spicy but someone in our group had the hot tiger bun and he was sweating! He said it was great but definitely hot! The chips and queso and chips and quac were both really good! I would order them both again. The fries we had were next level. The burgers and chicken sandwiches don't come with fries so definitely add them to your order. They are thick and meaty and come with a mayonnaise malt vinegar dipping sauce which was so good. Odd this isn't in the mix for Reagan National Airport. Really (really) good burger. Note that I had a Beyond, though it was one of the best I've had. Also: best beer selection at the airport. Got to the airport early and tried this place as had seen it but never tried it. Burgers are creative but can be confusing. Odd thing is that that they are not inexpensive and do not come with fries which were close to $9 extra. Beer selection was ok. Service was prompt and friendly. Burger was delicious on a fresh roll. I had asked for no onion but they put it on anyway. Luckily it was grilled red onion and were whole slices so were easily removed and left behind a nice taste. I like the taste of onion cooked along with food but not the onion itself (weird!) . The fries were served with a malt vinegar mustard which was good but runny so I was afraid I would drip on my shirt. Fries were unremarkable otherwise. For condiments they served HP sauce and malt vinegar. I think you could request ketchup. The sauce and vinegar were nice additions. read more

Horrible experience. Of all of the places you could potentially eat at the Reagan airport, you should really avoid this one. While the menu looks promising, the prices are exorbitant (even for airport pricing). $~17 for fries?!!! But I could even get over the pricing but the service is absolutely horrible. We ordered from the takeout line, didn't realize there was a seated area. After making the order, we noticed there was nice casual seating and we could enjoy our food there. One young waitress let us know we could sit on the raised bar and enjoy the food but not the regular tables (which we were fine with as we didn't need any service since we had already purchased the food). As my 10 year old and I proceeded to sit, another older waitress asked us to leave. When we explained that we had ordered from the same establishment and didn't realize that there was a seated area too before ordering (or we would've just sat down and placed the order) she wouldn't even listen to us. 95% of the tables were empty! Very disappointing and unnecessary. I will never eat here again. One star for the nice young woman who took our order and the young waitress who tried to give us a good alternative so we can eat the food in a dignified manner. 4 stars lost due to the older woman waitress who overrode the kindness that the other staff was trying to show. read more
