The Great Hamburger does not discriminate. But I do. And I say this place is holy....for us burger lovers. The day: Friday~a little before the dinner rush, so I had the place to myself. No worries. The music was righteous. Soul and R And B pumping through the speakers. The order: I did a "do it yourself burger" but there was plenty of titled burgers to praise and consumer. The burger was cooked perfectly. Juicy and a hint of salt. The bun, fresh brioche-sweet and buttery. A nice selection of additives. I added avocado, lettuce, and grilled onions. I also ordered a vanilla milkshake. Well done shake. Just the right thickness, slightly less dense than soft serve ice cream. If you are a cult member of the Great Burger, then this is your church. Amen.

Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. The burger didn't have as much flavor as I have had in the past and the Mac & cheese was just noodles. I was expecting cheesier baked Mac & cheese. And I think there might have been some spicy kick to them too. I picked up my order and ate it a little later, but the sweet potato waffle fries were also not satisfying as they were really limp and soft. A few pieces were crispy so that makes me think it's how they were cooked and not because of the delay in eating them. I could have crisped them up in the oven but I didn't want to go through that trouble. I didn't finish them. I still like Holy Cow but hopefully have a better experience next time.

Honestly we were so pleasantly surprised by how good the burgers are! I had the Capital Burger which had such incredible flavor and the burger itself is thick and juicy. Despite having just had a big dinner somewhere else, as I write this, my mouth is watering. My daughter had the wild mushrooms burger and she loved it -- the aioli had the perfect tang to go with the mushroom and Swiss, both burgers were cooked perfectly medium as requested. The old fashioned was just your typical old fashioned with a slice of candied bacon attached to the outside of the glass. We were hoping for something smokier and a little different but it was still a very good Old Fashioned. We shared the chocolate mousse and it was perfection. Yum! If I lived here this would be my new regular spot.

I had the blue cheese and black truffle cheeseburger, with bacon, and it was good. . Very good. I could not identify or really pinpoint where the black truffles came in, but the beef was well seasoned. The additions were a dollar too expensive across the board so I skipped those. The fries were sort of stereotypical, nothing really fancy about those. I debated about having the truffle fries, but didn't really wanna pay the extra three dollars. Bless my server, he didn't know what black truffles were, either. The Reesie's peanut butter cup Skrewball milkshake was quite good. Good use of Skrewball. Could've done with a little more alcohol, but what a great combination. Good taste. Vanilla ice cream and peanut butter all the way through. My only .. concern.. were the pickles. There's this NoVA chain restaurant that serves POPCORN before the meal, which I think has to be the most depressing, unappetizing, lazy and cheap way to start a meal. Capital Burger servers sliced sweet pickles in a jar. That.. is a step up from popcorn, but not by much... If I was in the mood for a burger and boozy milkshake, this would be on the list, but not my first choice.

They were seriously understaffed, and with a line out the door, the place was BUSY. That said, the staff was doing their best to keep up with the constant flow of customers. I was able to grab a table, and interestingly enough, ordering through DoorDash was much faster than ordering directly through the cashier. I ordered the Barbie Girl burger, which was pretty good overall, although it arrived a little soggy. The onion rings were definitely overcooked and greasy, but they still had decent flavor. Since I arrived around happy hour, I grabbed a glass of wine and enjoyed my lunch. Considering how slammed they were, the servers actually did a decent job. They were running around like crazy but remained friendly and attentive when they could. I definitely want to give Ghostburger another try when they're properly staffed and it's not quite as chaotic. I have a feeling the experience, and my burger, will be much better under normal circumstances! Worth another visit.

The smashburgers are made with 100% halal beef and they come out HOT with perfectly crispy edges on the patties and a juicy center. We ordered 3 burgers and each of them stood out in their own way. You can get a single, double, or triple patty burger and add whatever toppings to it too. The jalapeño burger was the star of the show, it had a such a nice and spicy kick to it. I wasn't expecting much but this burger had HEAT! Another favorite was the Juicy Lucy. It was packed with grilled onions and the patty was stuffed with cheddar cheese. A super messy and cheesy option that was definitely worth every bite! I liked that Jon's Joint offered other options too such as loaded fries and fried chicken sandwiches. What I found unique is that for the loaded fries, you can get it with falafel and make it spicy! This time, they had run out of the falafel so I am excited to try it next time. This time, I switched it up and got the mambo chicken sandwich over a bed of lettuce so essentially, a salad. My dad ordered the Lucky Burger, and we shared an order of fries. And honestly... this reminded me why I'm a bit torn on Lucky Buns. The food itself is definitely delicious and well-seasoned, but as someone who's gluten-free, I really wish they offered a lettuce wrap to simulate a bun instead of just turning everything into a salad . Being gluten-free already limits options, and the lack of gluten-free buns here is a bit of a bummer. For drinks, we grabbed the canned Snoop Dogg beverages, which were fun and different. They also offer beer, soda, and water - all canned or bottled. As for the setup: since it's located in Union Market, it's more of a food hall experience than a traditional sit-down restaurant. That said, the service is always solid, the staff is kind, attentive, and I really appreciate that they don't charge extra for sauces (a rare win these days). My biggest gripe is the pricing. I'm very familiar with Union Market and dine here often, but $17 for a burger without fries feels steep especially considering this isn't a full-service restaurant with wait staff. Overall: tasty food, great service, but I'd love to see more gluten-free-friendly options and slightly more reasonable pricing.
