I had the chance to attend Smash House's soft opening today at it's new location, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The moment we arrived, it was clear how much excitement this place has already generated -- people were willing to wait in the cold just to get inside. And once you step in, you understand why. The decor is stunning. Guests immediately started taking photos of the walls and ordering area, and I did too. The space is vibrant, modern but with a throwback feel, and it sets the tone before you even place your order. Now, the burgers. Incredibly tasty. Perfectly smashed, full of flavor, and cooked just right. You can tell a lot of care went into crafting the menu, and the limited opening‑day selection was a smart move, it kept the line moving and made decisions easy. The atmosphere was another highlight. At one point, a to‑go customer ended up sitting with others when the place filled up, and it sparked a friendly conversation between a loyal customer from the previous location and someone brand new. My partner and I came to Smash House for the first time on Saturday for lunch and it was quite busy, but it only took 10-15 minutes to receive our meal. I ordered the OG Smash burger with double patty and made it a combo to add on the fries and a drink. Everything tasted good, but the burger did come out a bit greasy. That's expected though with a smash burger or any burger honestly. The smash sauce on the burger tasted very similar to spicy mayo and the fries were nicely crispy. The fountain drink options included Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Lemonade, Mr. Pibb, etc. I was told this was their new location and the interior looked nice. However, when the restaurant got busy, it felt very cramped given their setup. There was a good amount of seating, however not much room to wait for your order without feeling like you are standing in the way when all seats were taken. The drink station was also all the way in the back and becomes a one way path when it gets busy. The path to get from placing your order at the cashier up at the front, to the drink area in the back, got slim when busy since people were sitting at the tables and the bar. Although my first time here was a bit overwhelming given how busy it was, this place was a great option to get your smash burger fix! They also have other options including hot dogs, chopped cheese, tacos, etc. so there's something for everyone! I really enjoyed this place! This place is small and quaint but full of flavor! It was easy to get to. Hopefully you can find street parking if you go on a day when it's not too busy in Leonardtown (Sunday). The menu had a variety of options and the young lady taking our orders was very helpful with giving us tips since it was our first time ordering. I ordered a turkey smash burger, which is hard to find so I was already impressed. It was seasoned perfectly and yes it still looked like a smash burger although it was turkey. I asked for two patties since I was starving. Patties were seasoned perfectly. I also ordered fries. The fries were good, but a little salty. Next time I will salt them myself. Food came out PIPING HOT!! They also had smash tacos and smash fries, chicken, and salads. Alcohol is also available.Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items next time! read more

Through Doordash I ordered the OG Smash with fresh onions and a hotdog also with fresh onions. What I got delivered was a huge dissapointment. That has got to be the smallest smash burger I have ever seen. At least it had the fresh onions...the hotdog came with nothing. No fresh onions that I asked for. This is the best smash burger in the DMV-make no mistake about it. It's served on a potato bun. Need I say more? The edges are crispy and you might think that if you get a smash burger, in general, that you will end up with a dry one, due to the circumference of the patty, however this burger is juicy and flavorful and delicious. Some burgers, let alone smash burgers need a sauce (and they do give you a fantastic sauce) but the sauce isn't what makes this burger juicy-the meat is juicy all on its own. And back to the sauce; again it's a fantastic sauce and it's not water downed, it's not runny nor is it spilling out of your burger either. It sits nicely on the burger and adds its own flavor. And the fries....OMG!!! They're served piping hot as well. They're seasoned well, crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. They're perfect. There's literally nothing more you could ask of your meal here honestly. The ambience is great. The customer service is great. There's not a ton of seating on the inside, but you will be glad you came whether you dine in or you dine out. My husband and I came on a late night (just happy that they were even open as late as they were) grabbed a table and just vibed out. Now we have had this burger when they operated as a ghost kitchen of sorts, and we knew once they got their own stand alone store that we would be patronizing it. I am not a big burger fan but heard good things about Smash House and decided to give them a try. The gentleman who greeted us and took our order was very friendly. Service was pretty quick, it took about ten minutes or so to get our order (they had quite a few orders ahead of us). My husband and I each got a spicy smash. This was the best burger I've ever had and it had just the right amount of heat. The menu at first glance looks pricey, however the portions are very large. My husband and I shared a single order of fries and I wasn't able to finish my burger. I don't like a ton on my burger I prefer the minimal toppings so I can taste the burger and this was just perfect. Fries are hot, just enough crisp and salt. It is a year later and I'm returning to leave another 5 star review. My husband and I are such huge fans of this place. We moved two hours away and still make the drive and are sure to buy in bulk because this business is just so good at what they do. This go around we got the deluxe, single, the Oklahoma, smash tacos, chopped cheese, and some fries. Even after the drive back home everything was phenomenal. We dropped by here on a day trip to Leonardtown. The location was interesting. We got there before opening, but there was a bunch of little shops inside we were able to look at. We both ordered the deluxe burger. The service was quick! I think we waited less than 10 minutes for our food. It was sooo good and the burger was bigger than we expected.
