The space is a wine and chocolate bar and has a hipster wine bar look which is suprising for the area. They also have sandwiches (including crab cake) and soup (crab & corn chowder) so I ordered both and settled in. Coffee for me, no wine (too early), but the wine selection looks impressive. The food came out in maybe 5 minutes, hot and fresh. The crab chowder was delicious, plenty of identifiable crab lumps and good flavor. The crab cake also had crab lumps, not just shredded crab. I did wish the sandwich was a bit bigger though. It was maybe about 3 inches square. Service was prompt and friendly too.

We got dessert. The flourless lava cake and the key lime pie. Both were amazing and took us to the threshold of diabetes. This has to be one of the best restaurants in the area! Everyone was friendly and we were able to be seated right away. It's right on the water, so we could see Pax River right from our booth. They offered outdoor seating, but it was almost 90 degrees out, so we opted for indoor. There was a very good selection of food items available, plus with it being Sunday, they had brunch going on as well. We decided to not do brunch; since we were going to a seafood restaurant we didn't really want breakfast foods (bacon, eggs, sausage, waffles, etc). I got shrimp tacos and my wife got the Captain's Platter (4 breaded shrimp and 2 mini crab cakes, plus sides). Meals were very good. A little pricey, but that's to be expected with seafood. Will definitely come back again. Perhaps we'll come earlier in the day on Sunday and actually do the brunch buffet.

Health Code Violations: 1. They use super hot water for the sanitizer. This actually makes the sanitizer not work at all! 2. They use bleach to clean food contact items. 3. They reuse disposable sanitizer rags. For days at a time. They actually just bleach them overnight and use the same ones the next day. 4. They left the store open when we literally had NO RUNNING WATER. 5. They don't make employees wash their hands after touching their own person, taking out the trash & more. 6. They do not throw out food that has been sitting there all day, and combine food food from different days into one container. So let's say, no one is buying chicken wings, they keep getting moved over into the new chickens bin, and just end up sitting their all day and getting served to customers! Some pieces could literally have been their since the start of my shift (3/4 pm) and could have been being giving away at 8 at night. 7. One employee sliced his finger up on the roast beef slicer, and they just "cleaned" it aka, wiped it with a reused disposable bleach rag, and continued serving roast beef on it within that same hour (it definitely wasn't an hour but I'm being generous). There were adult male employees who liked to sleep with a MINOR FEMALE behind the dumpsters, would come back in, not wash their hands, and go back to work. 8. Workers would get high in the parking lot and not wash their hands, and come back to work HIGH. 9. They would have employees who were having diarrhea and vomiting still work. Yes the managers knew, and they literally would tell employees they would still have to come to work. One time when I completely lost my voice, I showed up with a note saying I couldn't talk and they had me proceed to work still because they "needed me" and told me I "couldn't" call out. I witnessed them many times telling sick workers if they wouldn't come in that they would be fired. Worker's Rights that were Violated: 1. BREAKSSSSS. SOooooo in Maryland, it's the law that if you work between 4-6 hours you get a 15 minute break, between 6-8 hours you get a thirty minute break, and every four hours additional to the 8 you get another 15 minute break. The 15s are paid the 30s are unpaid, and more regulated by law. They made sure people went on their 30s but literally never once sent someone on a 15. I didn't even know they existed or were law until I quit and got another job. 2. Not letting sick people call out and holding it over their head. They refused to let people call out for any reason, especially if they didn't have enough time to give notice. Not only did they not let me call out when I had no voice, one time there was an intense wind storm that had knocked down powerlines, trees, and more all over the roads. Powerlines were literally on fire. They refused to let me call out. They made me go into work. Same thing with snow storms. This job pays literal minimum wage, it isn't worth my car or my insurance or my life, to make it to work during bad weather. One time I was sick and throwing up, and they wouldn't send me home. One of my co workers had the sh1ts, and they wouldn't let her call out and made her work through it. 3. The Maryland Sick Time Law. Back when this law was first put in place, they claimed you needed a doctors note to use your Paid Sick Time. This literally isn't true. You aren't even allowed to ask for proof for missing one shift for using your sick time, and they also wouldn't allow you to BUILD SICK TIME AGAIN if you didn't give them a doctor's note, which is literally illegal. Maybe someone cracked down on them for this, but with all the other things they got away with who knows. 4. A safe work environment. This job did everything but provide you with a safe work environment. One time when we were closing the lights went out, and it was pitch black. They forced us to keep closing, and to just use our literal phone flashlights to SEE. They would have people take out the trash alone at night. They would have employees clean up FECES, BLOOD, VOMIT, and more, aand obviously it wasn't disposed of properly. They would make employees climb on wobbly tables and such to clean the ceiling vents. They would mix cleaning chemicals together. The grill would leak grease on the floor, making it super slippery and nearly impossible to clean. 5. One time a whole batch of fresh coffee (was brewed into a flimsy plastic pitcher high up) got knocked down all over me, because I didn't cry, they wouldn't send me home despite me telling the manager my skin was falling off! Most of my burns were near my under regions and Jackie and Nick both made me show them my buns to get workers comp, and they wouldn't let me call out of work to go to a doctor. I would've sued if I knew better back then. 6. ADULT MEN SLEEPING WITH MINORS AND PASSING THEIR NUDES AROUND. The managers about it and did nothing about it. 7. A guy who sexually harassed me was aggressively threatening to beat me up on the work floor, and managers blamed me read more
