    Asian Wrap
    Heather R.

I'll start with the fact that I'm not a great listener. I came here with family who had been here a few times and they warned me that the Asian Wrap wasn't a good choice, but I am a sucker for Asian-style anything and really wanted to believe it would be absolutely delicious, so I took my chances. The Asian Wrap was bigger than I expected (which is great because who doesn't like a good portion size) and filled with crispy chicken, tomato, and a slaw type mixture. My issue with the wrap was that it was drenched in two sauces, and half of it dripped into a big messy puddle on the plate whenever I picked it up. The sauces, while tasty, seemed to clash. One side was covered in a mustard sauce and the other was in a sweeter soy-type sauce. I felt like I was eating two completely different wraps at the same time! I didn't hate it, but I also regret not listening to the locals' opinions when ordering! I also ended up swallowing part of a small bone that somehow snuck itself into the crispy chicken, and as a result decided to tear apart the wrap to make sure I wasn't eating the other small bones that also had snuck into my wrap. Needless to say, it was a very messy and not-so-pleasant dining experience. The sweet potato fries were standard and tasty, but the honey mustard went perfectly with them!

Lucky Bird- I know you don't know me, but after having met you this past weekend, I'm smitten. Okay, I'm more than just smitten, I'm OBSESSED. Your divine menu offers the best of the best, is perfectly hand crafted and 100% delicious! I had the pleasure of noshing on your Asian Tenders (juicy, hand breaded chicken tenders, smothered in sweet and spicy Asian sauce with honey mustard and topped with scallions) and loaded sweet potato waffle fries (Sweet potato waffle fries, buttermilk dressing, Cotija cheese, bacon, scallions) which literally made me weak in the knees! Like HOLY MOLY. Your staff is beyond friendly and provides killer recommendations and the ordering process is easy peasy, which was great for any size group, like the one that joined me recently in Edgewater this past weekend! You definitely go out of your way to showcase your skills with the best of the best!! Sure you're a bit pricy, but your large portion sizes and awesome depth of flavor makes you 100% worth it! I can't wait to show you off to all my family and friends, so countdown the days until my return! Your latest love- Katie F

Seeking to sample a bit of everything at Edgewater Public Market this past weekend, Katie F's husband sought out everything sharable for our group of five. This of course meant bringing back several tasty items from Lucky Bird which totally knocked our socks off. Let's break it down: First up: Loaded Sweet Potato Waffle Fries -- Sweet potato waffle fries, buttermilk dressing, Cotija cheese, bacon, topped with scallions. Lucky Bird is not kidding when they said these fries are loaded! These sweet potato waffle fries out other waffle fries to shame. In fact, I don't know if I can go back to those unimpressive bare waffle fries of my past. Next up: Asian Tenders -- Hand breaded chicken tenders, sweet and spicy Asian sauce, honey mustard, topped with scallions. Yum! The hand breaded chicken tenders are juicy and fried to perfection; while the sweet and spicy Asian sauce is completely drool worthy. Def a perfect match right there. To say we enjoyed our meal would be an injustice. We loved our meal! I will definitely be back to try more of Lucky Bird's mouthwatering, delicious menu -- soon!

I have the Buffalo wrap with crispy chicken. Would say the Buffalo to blue cheese ratio was way off. Needed more blue cheese. Also there were so many carrots it took over the flavor. Chicken would be better cut up rather than just placed in there in tender form. Was a large size which was the only plus.

    Yum!

Crispy on the outside, moist, tender, and juicy on the inside. Spicy enough to make your lips tingle, without being painful. Blue cheese to keep the fire to a smolder and the touch of fresh scallions really gave it the perfect pop of flavors. So, so good.

    Oh yeah

Got up into that Buffalo tender! With my best friend. The chicken was moist and tender. The spice was right. It wasn't too spicy too turn others off. The blue cheese was pungent. Overall a great and different meal to come and enjoy!

    Sweet Potato Waffle Fries

Located inside edgewater public marketplace, they specialize in solid fried chicken sandwiches and waffles fries. They have 4 different sandwich options all served on a potato bun, some wraps and salads and a few variation of waffles fries including sweet potato. I had the spicy bird which had a gojuchang sauce with a nice kick to it. There is nothing else inside the sandwich other than the chicken and a pickle so you can really taste the fried chicken which was nice and crunchy. If you're a sauce person, I may recommend ordering a side of sauce as well as they put only a moderate amount on. They really load the sandwich with chicken though so it's filling. The waffle fries were crunchy as well but a little on the salty side and served with Dijon mustard which takes away from the flavour. I ate them without the sauce and they were still tasty but would have liked a chipotle mayo or ketchup to dip. The service was quick-readywithin 10 minutes and reasonably priced (about 10 dollars for the sandwich and 5 for sweet potato waffle waffles fries) They also have a loaded fries option which I did not try but would be curious to

Found this location listed in the Michelin guide and thought... let's try it out? On the third story it's not your average restaurant set up... we were seated next to the kitchen where we got to see the magic! Johny was our waiter who was absolutely killing it! He and his whole staff were engaged, checking in, and even the chefs were bringing us our plates right to our table! Absolutely just one of the best experiences as we order the "Walk With Us" for 2. Walk with us: 5/5 Banchan style servings or tapas as I'm so used to... are ways of giving you the chefs vision of a story they want to paint with food. A taste so unique that I will say... only gets better as you keep going down this experience. Starters throughout the experience have so much flavor and textures that complement each other. The entrees... they get so much better.... Short rib Wagyu galbi that's so scrumptious and a Korean fried chicken that's crispy as can be with a perfectly cooked chicken through and through that's moist and just the perfect definition of a k-fried chicken! I would say my top 3 favorite bites would be: 1. Shaken rice 2. Oyster mushrooms 3. Entree meet: (chicken & beef) tied The chef who brought us the shaken rice explained the meaning behind the dish and what was in it... the back story is so wholesome and unique that it leaves you heartfelt and just happy to be sharing this experience. The oyster mushrooms have so much flavor... you would need to have them because. They mimic beef so well and they have been seasoned to perfection! Entrees.... Yes! They're that good! They will be a challenge to eat because everything else around you is also super good!!! The only thing I wish I would have tried would have been the milk rolls as they looked so good.... Also, he aware that there is a service charge for the walk with us as it is a full show and display of food. Think of it as a tip, but don't be scared to show them some extra love as it's well worth a star in my book. I hope they get one and I can come back and celebrate it! The venue was lively and everyone was so nice! 5/5 this is what you look for in an experience!

First, the meal was very reasonably priced. We opted for "Walk with Us". That means each person picks a main course (centerpiece) and then everything else on the menu is included with everyone's meal. It was a lot of food and it was a lot of deliciousness. Some of our favorites: The cucumbers were spicy delicious, kimchi perfect, the grilled mushrooms earthy and tasty. Hey Kiddo is known for its fried chicken and it should be--tender, crisp, crunchy and with 3 dipping sauces. The Wagyu Beef Galbi is served Korean BBQ style, to wrap in a lettuce leaf. Pork Belly tender and meaty. The grilled sea bass, with a butter sauce and mussels tender, tasty and tremendous. Potato Pave must have had 30 layers- incredible presentation and taste. ...and the shaken rice, aka a work of art, when presented, then shaken and eaten. Everything Asian influenced Our server was impressive; he knew a lot about the quirky, but specially selected wines by the bottle and shared his knowledge about several as well as providing a great road map of the food courses. We could not have had a better experience without him. Don't skip on the cocktails--all good with some subtle twists on old classics. Now to the downside. The place is NOISY. We were seated early and the music was deafening already. Just blasting out of multiple speakers. Then as the restaurant filled up, and everyone started yelling at their tablemates, it was just too loud to enjoy the rest of the meal. Hard floors, no soundproofing and a room full of people enjoying themselves makes for a very loud atmosphere.

We had to inform the hostess. The drinks took a very long time and we then ordered food. Thankfully the appetizer came out timely because it took over about 1 hour and 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. We saw about 3 other tables who ordered after us get their food sooner. The manager stopped by to apologize saying they were very busy, however that didn't explain the sequence of when we received our orders compared to those in the same section. The food was pretty good overall even though my steak and sides were lukewarm by the time I got them. My family didn't have the same issue. We didn't complain about the temp due to not wanting to take even more time. We did express our concerns and they offered 25% off the entrees but that was only about $26 off the total tab for drinks, appetizer, and 4 entrees. It is a cute restaurant so I am disappointed that the service was not that great and the fact that we brought my mother in law here while she was in town expecting a positive experience. We will not be returning or recommending this place to friends and family and hope that they are able to make improvements.
