This was a regular sub place for me when I lived in Arizona. My husband is not a great fan of subs but I was craving the Kali mist and so we stopped by for lunch after a long hike. Started with a few beers and I got the Kali mist while my husband got the Ak 47 sub. Both so well made and piping hot! I always ask for my subs to be extra toasted, how I like it! We were seated outdoors because we had a tired dog with us and when our server arrived to drop our order, she offered to get a little treat for our dog! He got a bowl of turkey.. he's never been so excited!! That was such a lovely gesture. We had a good time here and I recommend their subs always! I'm always a big fan of Cheba Hut, I love the sandwiches especially when you put it on the garlic herb bread. I normally get the Pinner 8", this was the first time I went with the Nug 4" since I wasn't too hungry but wanted to grab something tasty. Truthfully, I would not do that again, they really skimped on the meat/toppings when you go with the little sandwich. I was hanging out around Sloan's Lake and wanted a quick bite to eat. I stumbled on Cheba Hut, and thought I'd check it out. I've been to the Cheba Huts closer to downtown, and even though I like their subs, I always find it chaotic and that the bread gets soggy easily. I was happily surprised that this Cheba Hut seemed pretty organized and that the subs that were ordered were on point I've been a couple time now, and my favorite subs are The Kind and the KGB. Both were great, but I loved the KGB even more. I think the generous portion of horseradish puts the sandwich over the top. The kind is also great because there is a decent amount of bacon and mushrooms - two of my favorite things on a sub. I like that there is a huge selection of subs, including a decent amount of vegetarian options so that everyone can find something they love. They have a HH, and always have drink specials written either on the board to the right of bar or on a sign on the bar. Check them out. Food? The menu itself is more weed-driven than an actual dispensary. And yes, Cheba's claim to fame is that they toast their subs. Toasted, y'all. In true Matt-the-stereotypical-Italian-form, I ordered the Pizza Sub. Better known as DANK. Handcrafted Marinara, Genoa Salami, Pepperoni, and Provolone. The cashier recommended I'd get the sandwich on garlic bread. This was definitely a must. To be honest, the marinara wasn't my favorite, but the toasted sub component really solidified it as a solid sandwich. It's really interesting to me (yet awesome!) that they have a full bar here. I'm not entirely sure of their hours, but they told me they were open until midnight last night--on a Tuesday in December. Major props to the staff for being impeccably friendly. I've never been to a Chēba Hut before so I was a little confused on how to order. The employees were so wonderful!! They explained how to order and even gave me a suggestion (Midwest Best (Club))! The subs were hot and fresh! They piled up on the meat for sure (and for someone who loves meat and cheese in their sandwiches I have to say it was fantastic)!
