    Class and wine time
    Malikah H.

Came here for a surprise date night for. A post Valentine's Day cooking class through classpop and can't wait to return. The location itself was a vibe and we will def return in the near future. The venue itself is home to a variety of daily events and we happened to be there when there always a live do spinning RnB and the music was vibeN. The server made us some great drinks. Mr Man got a mocktail with a sour rim and I got a sangria with some type of sparkling grape juice both drinks were tasty. The cooking class with Chef Birdie while a great time I was very unsatisfied she had us making what was supposed to be smoked salmon rolls with chicken instead. Not the venues fault so I won't take away for that issue. Can't wait to return for one of the many events. Also the have a great Groupon that will give you a great deal for wine tasting

Very chill space, interesting wine options, great staff. Came in for an event on a Thursday evening. Live music, relaxed vibes and knowledgeable staff. The wine flights were nice, as I'm not normally a wine person. Very interesting options also, which kept me engaged. I appreciate that you can buy many sizes of something you like, and not confined to committing to an entire bottle of a wine/cider. I do plan to return and encourage giving them a visit if in the area.

    Band playing for Valentine's Day
    Rob I.

Lucid Winery was a really fun find. We visited on Valentine's Day, and they had a live band playing -- a mix of Beatles and contemporary easy-listening rock hits (they even covered an Eagles song). It gave the whole space a relaxed, lively feel without being overwhelming. You could still talk comfortably at your table. The setting itself has a cool industrial warehouse vibe -- stacked barrels, high ceilings, working tanks -- but it still feels warm and inviting. Not stuffy, not overly polished. Just authentic. The wine shop was offering complimentary tastings, and the staff was genuinely helpful and friendly. No pressure, just thoughtful guidance. We tried their Red Blend, Barbera, and Cabernet. All of their wines had a distinctive character -- slightly unusual in a pleasant way, layered and evolving as you sip. We gravitated toward the fruit-forward reds, and the staff helped steer us in that direction. The Cabernet ended up being our favorite, and we bought a bottle. It's a bold choice with noticeable fruit notes up front. There were some subtle undertones I couldn't fully identify -- possibly a touch of vanilla -- adding complexity without overpowering the wine. We didn't try their full lineup, but based on what we tasted, they're doing something a little different -- in a good way. If you like reds with personality rather than predictable profiles, Lucid is worth a visit.

Attending a sushi roll making class experience with myself hoping to make new friends. The service is very awesome Miranda was very helpful with were to park and my wine selection answered all my questions. The ambiance is casual and rustic with a great atmosphere and variety of music.

Great winery with a unique perspective. Service was great. A little chilly. Loved the atmosphere and the vibe of the place. Wines were really good.

Located on Sacramento's historic R Street, Lucid is truly a hidden gem. Tucked next to Fox & Goose, it appears pretty unassuming from the outside--but once you step through the doors, you're welcomed into a spacious, cozy atmosphere filled with vintage books, board games, wine barrels, and great vibes. It's surprisingly immersive; you almost forget you're still in Sacramento. Just inside to the right is the bar, where you can also build your own charcuterie board--a fun and unique touch. Lucid offers a solid variety of wines, with something for just about every preference. I'm especially a fan of their wine cocktails (the "Lucid Chaos" line). The sour apple version was incredible--served in a large mason jar with an atomic Warheads-style rim. So good! Pros: * Beautiful, inviting aesthetic * Warm, trendy atmosphere * Easy to hold a conversation * Plenty of seating (Possible) Con: * No hard liquor Street parking is available but can be limited, so give yourself a little extra time, or consider grabbing a Lyft :)

Perfect place to enjoy a great variety of wines -- whether you're solo, with friends, or with your well-behaved pets! I'd heard so many wonderful things about Lucid Winery, and I finally got the chance to check it out on a Saturday evening. I came to support a friend who was performing for the early show. Knowing that Lucid is dog-friendly, I brought along my two well-behaved pups -- and I'm so glad I did! Lucid is located in the historic R District, with plenty of parking nearby. When we arrived, I loved seeing that they offered both front and back seating areas. There was a special event happening that night, so we sat in the front, which ended up being perfect for our group. While waiting to order, I was drawn to their tempting snack and charcuterie options. (Side note: you are able to bring your own snacks from home if you wish to bring your own charcuterie goodies instead!) I grabbed some rustic bakery crackers and goat cheese to pair with my flight of wines. You can either customize your flight or let the staff choose for you. I decided to customize mine and tried the Rosé, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Barbera, and Zinfandel. I'm usually not big on organic wines, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the Pinot and Barbera -- enough that I bought a bottle of the Barbera to take home! If you aren't feeling a flight of wines and would rather enjoy a glass or bottle, they have these options as well! The overall atmosphere was wonderful -- relaxed, inviting, and unpretentious. People seemed to come here to connect, unwind, or simply enjoy good wine and good company. The dim lighting added to the cozy, laid-back vibe. I'm already looking forward to coming back and bringing my partner next time to experience it too!

A spacious, open vibe since this winery used to be a train company's warehouse. There's no food menu, but friendly staff and you can start with wine tastings to find your favorite‼ My favarite are Sangria and Frozen wine slushees. Sooo good!

Intrigued by the name, so that's where we spent our afternoon. The service was great and the woman at the counter was knowledgeable. We loved the idea of writing out our own wine flights down on a tasting card. We also loved the adult lunchable. The names of the wines were chaotic and cool. However, the we did not favor any of the tastings we had. We learned that Lucid has beer-wine hybrids called "brewvins." The concept is wild, innovative and appreciated! It wasn't our favorite due to the selections we chose, but it could be for you if you want a genuinely unique tasting and experience!

I heard about Lucid through a work colleague, and I'm so glad I stopped in today! This place has all kinds of entertainment; there was even a live band playing, which was awesome. They switch it up throughout the week too, so there's always something different going on. I tried the Wanderlust and it was so good. For my second drink, I went with the Apple Cider. Michael let us sample it with the cucumber sour (I think that's what it was), and wow--it was amazing. Super refreshing. If summer were a drink, this would be it. I even left with a bottle of the Apple Cider. That was a pretty cool experience in itself--I got to cap off my own bottle! I'll definitely be back. The energy here is just incredible. I love that they're not afraid to get creative with their drinks. They're honestly like wine chemists over here!

Long waitlist at Fox & Goose, so thought why not grab a drink and place to sit as my date and I awaited our table. The atmosphere is industrial mixed in with apothecary and overall rather eclectic. I wound up getting a mimosa; with pineapple juice, and my date got a hot tea, two drinks plus tip brought the total to $17. We got our drinks and sat down taking in the environment. After the first two sips I realized I didn't really care for the mimosa. The juice mixed in was not cold, the sparkling wine mixed in; though cold, seemed flat with little to no carbonation and overall the sparkling wine they used left an aftertaste I didn't care for. When we left we returned our glasses. I would up giving a more then half full drink back to the barista and was not asked if anything was wrong with the drink. Maybe I just didn't find the right drink for me and will have to try again one day.

One of the cutest wine bars in Sacramento! Overall customer service was good but Michael was amazing, super helpful! The flights are customizable where you can taste wines, ciders, and other menu items. I should've opted for the dealers choice, but I did enjoy my selections. My favorites were the Hibiscus and Cucumber Rose. They have a few snacks available in case you get hungry. Plenty of books on the shelves and even a table full of board games! Lots of seating in the front and in the back, with a private area located in the middle of the room. Area is very spacious and bathrooms are clean. We just so happened to visit on St Patty's Day weekend when there was a singer who kept the guests entertained and a singles event! We met a bunch of nice people and had a great time overall. I will definitely be back!

This is such a great spot. I love how big the inside actually was. All the books and wine barrels. It was a cozy vibe. The service was great, bartender was amazing and we got non alcoholic mocktails, gut healthy. Most importantly, we came with a group called Meet up. Where a bunch of us got together to make new friendships and play board games and have a cookie bake off competition. They had raffle wine bottles and this was so fun to do. Def will be back.

Ask the Community - Lucid Winery

Can we (ladies group) bring food to make it a dinner and wine night?

Hey Naomi. We were there a few weeks ago. The gentleman that was working there that day encouraged us to order food from somewhere if we were going to be there for a while. They have lots of seating areas with tables to spread out.

Reservations only or walk In welcome?

Walk-ins are always welcome unless they're having a private event that's booked the entire place (I think most events only book the back half of the winery).

Are kids of all ages welcome or only babies?

All ages welcome! Well behaved & quiet children of all ages and well behaved and quiet doggos on leash are allowed :)

    Is the venue dog friendly?

Yes! Quiet and well-behaved dogs are allowed. Thank you!

    Is there outdoor seating?

No, indoors, but the inside is really nice and fun.

The Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg is a historic beet sugar refinery from 1934-1993 that has wine shops and tasting rooms for local wineries. They have over a dozen wineries. Wine tastings average $15 and most wineries waive the fee if you buy a bottle. They have wine shops in the main building and in the other building. Don't forget to walk back and to the right to the shops in the separate back building, there is 3-4 more wineries. Each winery are literal walled shops with their own seating areas. Temperature controlled which is nice on hot summer days. Each have their own wine tasting, food offerings, and special events. Old Sugar Mill is less than 15 minute drive from downtown Sacramento. The buildings are beautiful. They kept the historic brick walls and exterior. It has a modern shabby chic look. Three different brands owned the refinery. It all began in 1934 with Amalgamated, American Crystal Sugar Factory (1936-1982), and Delta Sugar (1983-1993). The sugar was refined by local Northern Californian grown beets. The buildings was renovated in 2000 for its current use. Awesome concept and beautiful architecture design. They also host weddings and events. They have a banquet room with slideshow equipment. There is also an outdoor lawn and adjoining paved patio area that is shaded in the afternoon by the buildings that would make for a gorgeous wedding venue. On hot summer days, the Delta breeze kicks in for instant cool down. No outside food are picnics are allowed. On the weekends, they have food trucks. All of our guests were so complimentary of the wine, the setting, and the flow of the evening. We really could not have wished for a better venue experience. We also want to note, Paesanos was an exceptional caterer! I know some might be concerned with not having a choice of caterer but we found it to be a relief (one less vendor to coordinate) and Paesanos did a fantastic job. Rain was amazing at communication, and Diana was wonderful to work with on the day. They even packed up a couple of containers of leftovers for us to go home with. Thank you, Scribner Bend, for being an excellent venue!

Loved everything about this place! This was my first visit,…read morerecommended by my husband's friend who works here. The venue is beautifully designed and cozy everywhere you look! Just being there feels so relaxing, and the patio is dog-friendly too! The staff were warm and attentive, the food was delicious, and the wine tasting was an absolute delight. I can't wait to come back again soon!
