Placed the call, Chris was super professional, gave me a quote and i dropped off the broken drawer that afternoon. The following evening Chris phoned to say that the drawer was ready for pick up! I would not recommend Tru Custom Cabinets…read more The process started off well. The owner came to my home, took measurements, created a 3D rendering, and once we finalized the design, I paid my deposit. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward laundry room cabinet installation turned into **more than five return visits, countless phone calls and text messages, and constant follow-up on my part just to get the job completed correctly.** On the first installation, the cabinets arrived in different sizes and depths, even though they were all supposed to match. After that was corrected, the second installation left me with three different shades of white between the cabinets, trim, and crown molding. Later visits uncovered additional issues, including unstable interior shelves that tipped over, an uneven countertop, and multiple cabinet doors that were crooked or improperly aligned. What frustrated me most was that these weren't issues the company identified--they were issues I had to point out. At every visit, the installers seemed ready to leave with the project considered complete until I showed them additional problems. I repeatedly called, texted, and sent photos over the course of weeks just to get someone from management to come inspect the work in person. Instead of taking my concerns seriously, I was told I was "high strung" and that smaller projects sometimes have issues. By the end of this project, I had completely lost confidence that anyone from Tru Custom would identify or correct problems unless I found them first and pushed for them to be addressed. I essentially became the project manager and quality control inspector for work I hired professionals to complete. To date, this project has required more than five visits to my home, and I am still waiting for two cabinet doors to be corrected. Despite the repeated installation mistakes and the inconvenience, Tru Custom Cabinets never offered a discount, refund, credit, or any meaningful gesture of goodwill. One of the installers even commented that they had "never had so many problems on one project." Unfortunately, I was the customer who had to experience every one of those problems. I understand that mistakes can happen on any project. What matters is how a company responds. Based on my experience, Tru Custom Cabinets failed to provide the level of workmanship, communication, and accountability I expected, and I cannot recommend them.

While we are very happy with the final results, getting to the so-called "finish line" proved to be…read morea bit of a challenge. That is the reason for this update. This remodeling project was begun around July 21, 2022. About three and one-half weeks later, the job was listed as complete and we were once again able to use this bathroom. However, during the following week, we had to have someone come out again to make repairs: hot/cold water in the shower was flipped; hole along the tile and baseboard discovered; silicone was coming off the niche area in the shower; caulking was incomplete around the perimeter of the shower floor. Once those repairs were made, we thought that finally we were done. Nope. The paint on the ceiling started to peel above the shower. A lot. Finally had the painter return to repair that and we thought, once again, we were done. Apparently not, since we were told the ceiling was "fixed," but something different was evidently told to Roberto. After another week, the entire ceiling showed pieces of paint peeling off. Called for another repair. This time, Roberto came out and told us that the ceiling hadn't been done right in the first place and our only option was to tear out the entire ceiling and start over at an additional cost of $450. That did not sound like a reasonable idea, so it was then suggested that the ceiling texture be redone instead and painting would be done with eggshell (semi-gloss) paint rather than latex paint. We accepted that solution and waited for it to be fixed, finally. Painter came out and did the work at the end of September, but in total we were once again out of that bathroom for 5 days waiting for texture, primer and paint to dry. However, this seems to have truly repaired the problem - thank goodness. Then I get emailed an invoice for $350 for the ceiling repair. Wow. Paid that invoice on September 27, 2022: almost 10 weeks after the job was begun. Unfortunately for Roberto and his crews, though, he was what you can call "penny wise and pound foolish." We had informed every contractor that gave us a bid for this bathroom that based on our experience, we would then move forward for the really big job -- a complete remodel of the master bathroom -- a much larger and more expensive project. Because of the 6-week drag after "completion" and delay due to the ceiling repairs (along with other fixes) and the $350 invoice we received, we did not even consider a bid from Kitchen & Bath Remodeling for our master bathroom. Chose another contractor instead.

My wife and I are very pleased with Roberto's technical team. We had a bath tub removed and replaced with a walk-in shower. We picked out the new material with the help of Doris (Robert s wife and store manager). All new materials were selected from their showroom. They replaced the countertop with great stone top and all plumbing faucets were replaced. Two years ago, we remodeled our master bathroom and we loved the job these guys did. If you have a remodel job, you should give Robert and Doris a call before hiring anyone else. Reasonable price and first class personal service from job requirements quote to final job completion.

I hired Sergio from EJ Flooring and Remodel to redo my master bathroom shower based on his polite…read moredemeanor and positive initial reviews. Unfortunately, my experience turned out to be frustrating and costly. From the start, we ran into issues -- the wrong shower pan was ordered, forcing a last-minute pivot to a tiled shower floor that I didn't want and which increased the total cost. Then, the shower door I had selected didn't fit, causing additional delays. The most serious issue, however, is the poor workmanship. The shower was not grouted properly. The step began separating while Sergio was still working on it, and it's now held together with caulk and a prayer. Grout on the shower floor continues to crack in multiple places. I've had to attempt repairs myself -- and I'm no expert -- but new cracks and gaps keep appearing after each use. Even further, the shower door groans loudly despite attempts to lubricate it. I reached out to Sergio to address these problems, but he didn't respond. Honestly, the communication had become so terse and uncomfortable that I didn't feel good about continuing the conversation. I've now had to take on a third job to pay for having this shower redone by someone more experienced.
