A little background first before I talk about how AMAZING Blue Collar Roofing and Construction is-we were NOT looking to get a new roof. Another roofing company stopped by and did a cold call and we agreed to a roof inspection. Fast forward to later that week we were stuck in a three hour sales pitch about what they could do and were told we needed to replace our roof asap. They also pushed for us to sign right away because when she walked out of the house the price would be $5Kmore. Needless to say, that did not sit well with us; however, we were concerned about the roof. That same day our neighbor across the street just happened to have their roof replaced and it looked fantastic. So we asked them who they used and got Blue Collar's number. Preston responded right away and we got an appointment set with him. In the meantime, I also searched the web and set up appointments with two other roofers, both with excellent reviews and reputations. Everything I could find on Blue Collar Roofing was also excellent, so I was confident that we would find out what was really going on with our roof. All three roofers agreed there was a leak and some damage, but said that we could continue to patch our roof and get a few more years out of it...but of course, no guarantee that we wouldn't continue to get more leaks elsewhere. We had already had roof repairs the year before. All three quotes were pretty close in pricing when comparing similarly rated shingles, the only quote that was outrageous was the original quote that started it all. We compared the shingles, the costs, the underlayment materials, reviews, and of course our opinions of each meeting. Honestly, all three were roofing companies were friendly and reputable...however, we couldn't help but feel that Preston and Blue Collar Roofing was the RIGHT FIT for us. During our inspection and discussion he was very honest with us about what he found. He did not push us in any way to get a new roof installed. In fact, he was happy to do the repairs and have us keep him in mind for the future. He explained to us the roofing materials used on our home by the builder vs what he would recommend we eventually install. We went out to his truck and he showed us the different roofing shingle types and brands and actually explained the differences in them as well as the differences in underlayment. We took a few days to review and do some additional research on the products that we were quoted. Everything Preston had talked about was right there in black and white and I found several interesting videos that compared the different underlayments and shingles. We decided we wanted to get the roof replaced now instead of limping along for a few more years and risking damage to the inside of the house. We both agreed that Blue Collar Roofing was the roofing company for us. This is our forever home so we wanted quality products and an experienced roofer. Preston is very personable and he is passionate about his business. He is not a salesman that comes to just sell the product to you. He owns the company and takes pride in getting the job done well and right the first time. He doesn't watch from the sidelines, he is up on the roof right alongside his guys getting the work done. The installation was smooth and seamless even when they found an issue from the original roof, they were able to fix it and keep on going. We absolutely love the new roof and as I'm writing this it is now pouring rain outside and I am so grateful that I do not have to worry about the roof anymore.
