I needed a television for a difficult wall in Williamsburg and had no time. I tried amazon and Best Buy and non I could figure out what I needed. Called Lucas they beat the price on Amazon and I came in the store and they offered to install that night. At install they suggested we go with cheaper television and they went back to grab another tv that fit better and handled the refund turn key. Televisions are a pain in Nyc. I was about to pull the trigger on a window A/C unit online and then I thought, wait a minute Lucas Electronics are local and they match online prices. So I called them up, Lucas gave me a great price and even leant me his hand truck to wheel the new AC home. The whole thing took about 20min. Later I had second thoughts, it seemed like more BTUs than I needed. So I called him back up and he said no problem come return it, or he said i could run it for a few days and then decide. I was around Greenpoint, Brooklyn yesterday for work and I always love to walk around and see how much has changed and how much things are the same! You can walk into a grocery store and there's very little that's in English. Wait, Poland, is that you? ;) It's great. There are few places like this left in NYC. The highlight of my trip to Greenpoint was this notso tiny electronic store, Lucas Electronics. At first I thought it was one of the shops like you find all over Manhattan that caters to tourists with refurbished merchandise. This is not the case! New TVs, New computers, New Audio Video systems at very good prices! If you are looking for a small clean new nice place that carries some of the latest in technology (Apple, Samsung, Sony, etc.) you should definitely stop by and ask some questions. I spent time asking the guys stuff and they were happy to answer. I would love to have to a neighborhood place like this, so I don't have to stop into those big departments store type places (they price match) and better yet they match Amazon prices! I don't love buying things from Amazon, because on the good chance that something doesn't work or isn't really what I wanted and then I have to deal with returning it to the post office. Eww. (Jimmy Fallon) This is the little neighborhood shop that we all wish we had in our neighborhood. The good thing is, even if you don't live in the neighborhood, this place is worth a visit. Other tasty things to try nearby are a $7.5 Cuban sandwich from Cachaco, a pastry at a local pastry shop and your favorite coffee at Upright Coffee. I was proud of myself that I did not go into that tasty Peter Pan Donut shops. That place is dangerous with the old school donuts! Mmm. All nearby and all have lots of High 5s on Yelp. You won't find staff as helpful as Team Lucas! Anywhere. I stopped in just to price check an item and realized they really do beat any price on the market -- since then, I've been back several times. While it helps that I live around the corner, Lucas staff is genuinely committed to their customers and know their products very well so have kept my business. Can't find what you want in the store? They can probably order it for you and have in stock within a matter of days. Definitely recommend -- plus it's important to support a local business over the Amazons and Walmarts of this world :) read more

These guys are awesome. My old air conditioner died in the middle of a heat wave and I was so happy to have found these guys in the neighborhood and with ACs at competitive prices. But what I really loved about this place was the customer service. While I hung out in the store waiting for my BF to talk ACs with me, each one of the staff members greeted me with a smile and offered to help. Not only were they kind and helpful but with the store open for only 10 more minutes one of the guys, Paul I believe was his name, went above any beyond and offered to deliver the AC with his hand-truck four blocks to my house (in the rain). He really deserves a raise, that guy. I don't know who Lucas is but he'd doing something right. read more

I just want to write an update/addendum to my former review. Lucas (he looks exactly like a young Elvis) and his beautiful wife, Monika (she looks just like a young Uma Thurmann) are two of the most gracious, kind, caring people. Everyone needs to shop at Lucas Electronics, Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Lucas, Monika are totally the best, best, best Following a terrible experience at the store a few weeks back; dealing with a most rude and discourteous worker during my two visits, I wrote and posted an extremely negative review about the worker and the store in general, on Yelp. Lucas contacted me immediately, and after several phone conversations, we were able to meet yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, July 17th) at the store, to discuss thing personally. I was late for the meeting; Lucas was not at the store when I arrived; Monika called him right away, and within a few moments, he returned back, and we were able to talk together. All during the conversation, I felt that Lucas was most concerned, and I knew that he was going to do the right thing, in order to make me happy; keep me as a customer. Both Monika and Lucas made me feel welcome and as a valued shopper at their store. Yes, sometimes bad things happen to a customer in a store; yes, sometimes, a bad and poor worker can make the customer feel terrible, and the customer needs to air their views online (as I did). But, sometimes, things can and do have a good ending, and in this case, there is a very happy ending. Merci, merci, merci encore, Monika et Lucas. read more
