Hands down, best restaurant in Danville. Staff is very friendly. We frequent often and most of the waitresses know what we are drinking and usually eating. The menu selection is great. I love the hot wings and habanero wings. All of the burgers are outstanding as well as anything else on the menu. It's not a bad idea to make reservations as dinner time can get quite crowded on certain days. The prices are reasonable and the location is great as well. Mostly a restaurant but has a small bar for single diners. The bartender asks you name and addresses you as such. She was great. They have several types of special fries, I had some of the best garlic Parmesan fries I have ever had, I was just taken back by the portions. Parking is a little tight, but as visitor, the staff seemed to know a lot of customers and the place was busy the whole time I was there. I will be back when I get back to the area. read more

I have eaten here at least a half dozen times and it's always very good. The service is equally as good. There's a full bar. The Bloody Mary is a good choice if you like spicy. Lots of horseradish. My wife had a burger and fries, I had a cheesesteak wrap and fries. My wife thought her burger was fine, but my cheesesteak could have been cooked longer, and both our fries, though plentiful, were cold. Had takeout tonight and it was fantastic! We ordered three burgers/medium doneness and fries. Everything was PERFECT! Kudos to the kitchen! I also want to give a compliment to the bar tender. Most of our food was very food, especially the two different soups that were had. However the 'Jumbo' wings were so small and looked like they had been fried 3 times. They were truly inedible and when we kindly asked the server if we could just get something else instead, she immediately became unfriendly with a big attitude and said it would just be faster to get another order of wings. The food quality is very hit or miss. The ribs are inedible, but sometimes the steak isn't too bad. Just don't be strict about your doneness preference. They won't get it right. When we ordered, the waitress asked if we wanted fries or chips with our wrap and burger. We selected the fries. When we got our bill, $2.99 was added to each. When we asked about this, she said it was for the fries. Her question when we ordered certainly implied that fries or chips were included---as at any other restaurant we've been to. I stopped here on the way back from Geisinger. My guess is, this is the case with most visitors from out of town. There are several chains in the area. But I wanted a more local flavor. I weighed out a cheaper local diner, a mid ranger (this place), and a more expensive local brewery. I chose Evans because of its convenience, menu, and style of food. First, let me say it is well marked and easy to find. There is ample parking all around the building. If the private lot is full, the place is probably too packed. But I am sure you will be able to find parking nearby, if needed. There is an outdoor deck for nicer days. It looks well maintained and clean. It could be a nice hang out after work for a beer or drink. They run nightly specials for drinks and food. This Monday night was 50 cent wings. So ask for those specials. You can check the menu online, for yourself. This is always a big plus in my recently busy life. I really didn't feel like ordering a platter so I went with a sandwich. The burger menu did look good, though. In fact, the entire menu looked fairly decent for a restaurant bar setup. The prices were moderate. Some folks are living 10 years ago when they balk at the prices in places like this. Costs are out of control in this business so if you can't pay, no problem. Eat fast food, stay at home, or pack some sandwiches for your trip. No shame in that. I ordered the Reuben and upscaled it with some fries. I read positive reviews on the fries so I decided let's give it a try, right? I love Reubens. So I expect certain points to be covered. Is the bread right? Check Is the corn beef fresh and dripping a little bit? Passable Does the sauerkraut taste fairly fresh or at least have a nice mild flavor and texture? Check Is the sauce thousand island or a custom version of such? Check So, the Reuben was good. Not the best I have had. I am still in pursuit of that perfect one. I would order it again. The fries were fresh cut. Average homemade style fried but not overly greasy. They were not salted so I did such myself. I read that they will flavor their fries with Old Bay. I should have done this. I was slightly dissapointed but the serving was huge so points for that. The beers on tap were normal selections with the Yeungling seasonal and Blue Moon mixed in. I ordered the Yeungling Octoberfest. Good stuff. The service was good. I was seated by a young guy waiting for customers at the door. My waitress watched over me and made sure I had everything I needed. She answered all my questions and came back to check on me several times. No attitude. Just a good waitress. She even made sure I had vinegar and ketchup waiting at my table for the fries. The ambience was bar casual. Not Saturday night at the bar but typical small sports bar restaurant. There was a great conversation ,between a bar patron and the bartender, about Penn State and Eagles football that I was enjoying listening to. Including the latest betting lines. Bottom line, I like Evans. I would recommend it to people that don't mind this type of atmosphere. Maybe you are on your way back from the hospital and want a decent meal and a beer. It isn't exactly a Vegan or Sunday after church place. Although the Sunday after church comment may be debatable. The food would be good with your NFL Sunday. Enjoy! read more

We stopped in around 5pm on a Friday to get some dinner. I thought it was a little odd that we were the only people in the dining room. There were people in the bar, but it looked like they were there for drinks. We ordered the quesadillas with prime rib for an appetizer. My wife got a crab cake sandwich and I got a burger. The quesadillas were okay, a little greasy with very little flavor. My wife's crab cake was mushy and kind if gross. My burger was overcooked on the outside and slight undercooked on the inside. The fries were actually not too bad and seemed fresh. The food overall was terrible. The service was good with the waitress checking on us often. They had a decent selection of beers. We had reservations for 9 on Saturday. We were seated right away and given menus. My son has celiacs and we asked for the Gluten Free menu. The waiter brought it and went over it with my son. Wow, and not in the good way. Went to this place on a recommendation. I'm hoping it was just a bad night for the place, but doubt it. We started with the Caribbean jerk wings, which were dry and almost tasteless. It was pretty much fried chicken as we couldn't even find any seasoning that feel off on the plate on which they were served. I had the "bowl" of chili. It was neither a bowl and whether it was chili was debatable too. It was more like a large cup of tomato soup with a few beans and some meat thrown in. As cheap as this place was, I wouldn't be surprised if it was scraped off previous diners plates and thrown in to save a buck. The wife had the blackened crab cake. I really wish that someone would tell the "chef" (term used loosely) that blackening comes from the spice rub, NOT from leaving it on the grill until it's black. Need I say more? Oh, yes, I do. It was served with a piece of wilted lettuce that looked like it was shoved in the back of the frig two weeks ago and just rediscovered today. It was further accompanied by cocktail sauce that contained lumps. Yes, lumps. This was a first for both of us. Finally, I've been in fine dining establishments that engage in ala Carte pricing for add ons, but this is neither fine dining, nor really add ons. When you offer quesadillas at $5.99, add chicken for $4.99 or beef or shrimp For $5.99, onions or peppers for $1 each, all you get is overpriced swill at inflated prices. Onions on a burned sandwich, $1 please! Add fries to said burned, overpriced sandwich for only $2.59! We were excited finding this place as we travel this route frequently, but that quickly turned to disappointment. read more

The only reason I am just giving this restaurant a three star rating is because the service sucked and the drinks sucked. The food on the other hand, is well worth the stop at this restaurant.
