I'm surprised this shows in yelp with a rating of 4 since it is absolutely not a 4. Food - frozen patties that are below grade. Hot dog bun that was 2 pieces like you find with cheap buns. Ketchup is some 3rd rate knock off brand. Service - the 2 that are working are busy but the waiter has a hard time keeping up. Soda could use a refill, maybe a straw with my drink, silverware came later. This isn't a 5 star place so service was as you should expect. 3 star Value/Price - 2 stars. $3.99 for a fountain drink. $1.25 to add cheese to the 3 oz burger? I think for the price you could get better quality food at a chain like chilis, fridays, or other. Let's just say having a 4-start rating is far from that. This dinner is mediocre at best. Yes, the theme is 50's malt shop. The bar has no foot rail, after sitting for a few minutes your legs are dangling in the air. A customer offered me a milk carton for my feet. Being a server/ bartender, I pass no judgement I will tip 20% or more. This diner was not busy, they forgot my son's side of bacon. When asked for it to be removed from the bill, they just offered it at that moment we were finished and getting ready to leave. Let's just say it cost the same as a pound of bacon in the store. Drove up after dark and their neon Heeter's sign made it easy to find. The right side of the building has an order window for take-out and a picnic table. An entrance to the diner area is on the left side of the building. The diner runs front to back. There is a small counter seating area by the door with most of the room being booths. Four seater booths on the left and two seaters on the right and at the back. A TV in the back corner was showing fox news on a very loud volume. The waitress was very friendly. They offer canned beers and fruity malt beverages that are made into slushies along with sodas. The menu offers a variety of options and being on the road for several days we came for their dinner salad offerings. The salads are quite large and the greens fresh. Plenty of protein on there. The chicken ceaser came lightly dressed with warm chunks of chicken breast over the top. The warm chicken did wilt the greens a bit. Perhaps placing the warm chicken around the edges of the salad instead of on top would prevent that? Chunk light tuna is used in their tuna salad and I opted for no additional dressing on my salad greens as the tuna salad is enough dressing for my taste. Their tuna salad has a mild taste; nothing surprising in there (that's a good thing). Inside was quite warm on a cold December evening. Service and food were good. There is a private parking lot. Location is small and historic. Parking is okay. Seating is decent but small. Staff is two older men, not real talkative and right to the point. In a good way. Prices are okay to higher. Burger and fries are frozen patties and okay. Soft serve ice cream is good but over priced. And if they ask if you want nuts. The answer is NO! They are not free and will charge you $1 for a light sprinkle. Outside of the pricing no complaints! And worth checking out if only for the historic look and feel. Not something I'd go out of my way to eat at, but also not somewhere I'd avoid. read more

When we were paving SR-54 we would often use the wide spot across the street to stage vehicles and equipment, of course we wanted to patronize the local businesses So I made sure to give this place a shot. They have great ice cream for them hot summer nights, pricing is decent for the portion size you get which is fairly large, and they do not skimp on the toppings. Haven't tried the food yet but they have great service and they are quick. read more

Extremely delicious food at this old style diner. Even though a touch under staffed, a group of six was still accommodated extremely fast and well. Big props for still making our large group feel welcome and taken care of while juggling so many other tables - the staff were fantastic here. The food was particularly delicious diner style food and I always love a place where you can add chili and cheese to just about anything. I went with the fried fish sandwich and some chili cheese fries and boy oh was were they delicious. Portion size was huge and the fry on the fish was just perfect. I love diners so had to try this place! Services was excellent! I had the 1/4 lb chilli, onion, cheddar Jack hot dog. The bun made the hot dog! I've been here a few times for ice cream only. The quality and service is fine enough and our orders have been made as ordered. The problem is the prices for what we get here. Extremely unprofessional. We booked Heeters mobile ice cream truck for our biggest corporate event of the year. They were our desert vendor. He showed up on night 1 of 2. Left 1 hour before the event was over, without telling anyone. He never showed up for night 2, no call, no contact. Left us hanging with no option to find a replacement. Step inside a time portal because you are about to go back to the 50's. Heeters awesome design makes me feel like this is what eating at a restaurant in the 50's was like. With the tables, floor, chairs and music. The experience is very nice and I know the older generation has to love it. The food is pretty good, nothing that is going to make you say wow but a nice little place great for breakfast and lunch. My go to there is the chicken quesadillas with the works. You get a large amount and they are stuffed pretty well with chicken, peppers, onions and cheese. Also a big hit in the summer is their ice cream which I think is a little pricey for ice cream but if it's good people don't really care. Just about everyday there is a line for the ice cream in the summer. I am more of a milkshake guy myself getting either coffee ice cream or tea berry which are both very good. My Wife and I aren't from the Danville area. We had an appointment at Geisinger and wanted something to eat afterwards. We found Heeters on Yelp and it had great reviews, so we tried them out. The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. We ordered the Wisconsin Cheese Curds, and they were uniquely fantastic. My Wife ordered the Fried Mac n Cheese Burger and it was a fried dream. Absolutely delicious. I was in a breakfast mood and ordered the Bacon Egg and Cheeseburger. The quality was out of this world. I also liked that it was served on a bagel rather than a bun. It added that "breakfast" feel I was craving. The fries were perfectly crispy. The 50s theme was fun. I was also impressed by their hot sauce collection. If you're a hot sauce fan, definitely try this place. Overall, we were so happy with our experience that we'll be making this our regular stop every time we have appointments at Geisinger. We order from here out of convenience of location. While we usually order the same items and sometimes it's a surprise what we are served. For example, we like the Buffalo chicken salad. Sometimes it has a lot of corn chips, some corn chips and sometimes no corn chips. The spiciness varies as well as the amount of cheese or tomatoes. The servers are so nice and, they are right on the ball, you do not have to sit and wait for someone to walk over to you and, wait on you. Very friendly and, they treat their customers so nice. A 50's- 60's themed drive-in type of restaurant. Stopped on our way home for some ice cream. How can you screw up ice cream? Well, they did! Asked for a 50's Twister (their version of a DQ Blizzard). $4.50 for a regular (small), but according to the little tags next to the cups, to indicate what size for which ice cream, we didn't get that cup, actually a smaller one. Got the Twister...won't ever get one of those again! My impression, it was made with freezer burnt, heavily crystallized ice cream that they tried to soften with milk, which DIDN'T work. It ended up thinner than a shake! I didn't need the spoon it came with, drank the thing instead. The people before us - they got hard ice cream cones. Looking at them, I have NO idea how she was able to scoop it the way she did. Not in a "ball" form, more like flaps piled on top of each other, and not in a nice appearance. To the point it was immediately falling apart with the girl offering a cup to dump it in so they wouldn't lose it to the ground. On a positive note, I did see a couple with some soft serve that looked good. Better stick to that if you're gonna visit. read more

The whole version of the sub is literally 20" long, and the combo of steak, lettuce, tomato, and mayo are to die for!
