DO NOT HIRE JOSE LR ELECTRICAL!!! First off the reason I went with Jose is because I believe in helping out small businesses instead of going with a bigger corporation. Jose was not the cheapest but he sold me on his guarantee on all of his work. Jose initially was helpful. He installed front lawn lights and added a couple of gfi boxes in the front of the house and installed a new electrical panel. When he was done with the initial job he assures his customers that if you ever have problems with his work he will come and fix it with no problem. Well this was not the case. My GFI breakers kept popping and I'd have to keep on manually resetting it. Now the breakers will not even let me reset. I let him know. He said he'd come and take a look. So we scheduled a time and date. Got off work early to meet, Jose never showed up or never reached out. I tried calling and texted him and nothing, straight ghosted me. So I waited about 3 weeks giving him the benefit of the doubt and called him again assuming maybe he had emergency or something, he sounded surprised that I called him back. Jose never apologized or said anything about missing his appointment at my home, so we made another appointment for him to meet me at my house, he assured me that he'd be there this time. I took off work early again to meet up, Jose never showed up or never reached out again. Then I called him multiple times and texted him as well. I said just please call me by the end of the day, at least do that, never replied. I wish I would have done more research because apparently he has a history and is known to do this to his customers. Please, look at his past reviews and dont make the same mistake I did by hiring him. Now I have to find a new electrician and instead Jose guaranteeing his work, I'm going have to pay someone else. Jose was great and very responsive. I texted him and he offered to come out the same day, however, something came up and it was rescheduled to the following morning. I texted him in the morning to confirm and he responded right away and showed up on time. He was very kind and very knowledgeable. He walked through what happened to our breaker and showed us how we can tell it's broken for next time. He even showed my husband what he was doing. BEWARE, he will NO SHOW and then GHOST you. I tried to support a local business here in LB. I scheduled an appointment with Jose to replace a ceiling fan and change some electrical sockets. He was supposed to come yesterday but after I continued to reach out to him he claimed to have had a "car accident" and we rescheduled for today at 3. He texted me around noon to make sure I had a fan already. That was the last I heard from him. It is 6 now. I had given LR electrical a 5 star review initially. That review changed to 1 star because of an unfulfilled appointment on 2/23/2024. I had called on 2/22/2024 and spoke to Jose to help restore an area in our apartment that had no power. He said ok and stated over the phone that he'll show up at 9am the next day 2/23. I woke up early before 9am and had been waiting until noon. He never called nor text so I texted him. He never responded to my text to tell me if he'll be able to make it or not. Jose was one of 4 or 5 who responded and I conversed with. I was looking to install a Tesla wall charger Gen 3. After sending images of our panels, he was able to determine a 40 amp breaker would suffice. He asked to come and inspect the panels prior to the work. He came on time, and confirmed we were good to go. His pricing was really fair! I agree with a previous review, for him, it's about the craftsmanship and pride in his work. He wasn't trying to gouge us for dollars. I really, really appreciated that. I know electricians can be extremely expensive. He came on time this morning, installed the charger in less than an hour. It's beautiful. The workmanship is beautiful. He is extremely knowledgeable. I couldn't have asked for a better electrician. This part of the review had nothing to do with Jose- but sort of.. we tested that the wall charger worked and it did. After Jose left, 15 minutes into my first charge, the breaker tripped. So I went to reset it and it tripped again almost immediately. I contacted Jose right away and his response was "I'll be right back with a new breaker." Didn't even hesitate offering to replace and resolve the issue almost immediately. But actually, it had nothing to do with the breaker or Jose's workmanship. I learned that with the Gen 3 wall charger, you have to adjust to the correct amperage on the Tesla app. Unfortunately, the charger assumes your pulling on a 60amp breaker. Because we're using a 40amp, the max output amperage is 32amps. So go into the Tesla app, select charging and adjust to the correct amperage based on the circuit breaker amp. Thank you LR for responding so quickly to our electrical issue! They were the only business advertised as open late and actually responded (even places advertised as open 24hrs did not respond). We were having a leisurely sit next to the fire pit in our backyard around 9pm this evening when we noticed our EV charger incessantly beeping. We googled the beeping noise and found that this was related to an error signal. We thought we should shut off the breaker to the charger while we trouble shoot the issue the following day just to be safe. We walked to the electrical panel and noticed a loud buzzing noise then proceeded to open the panel, and the sparks started flying. Yikes! We wanted to get someone out here immediately since it appeared to be a fire hazard. LR to the rescue! Jose arrived within the time frame he stated, and diagnosed the issue quickly. He found two faulty breakers and upon inspection we could see the parts were already damaged and melting. He happened to have replacement parts on hand and was able to switch them out to make it safe, and gave us a recommendation on what could be done moving forward to resolve this in the long term. First off LR Electric is not licensed. Do not hire them for any permitted work. Working with LR started off well. He seemed responsive and knowledgeable. He performed an on site walkthroigh of the electric panel upgrade I needed. I gave him a specific work scope that I needed to be able to document had been completed back to Tesla for solar panels I will have installed. LR agreed to this scope as a condition of the project. He completed the work on the date we agreed and everything seemed in order. I paid him timely to give him the same respect I thought he was giving me. Then he never responded to me again. I asked for when the inspection would be and for him to send me a confirmation of the scope of work. I never received anything. I had to hire another Electrician who has identified several items that need rework to pass inspection. Now I am out more money and over a month delay on my solar project. LR seem like they do good work. But they are not licensed and do not stand behind their work. Really unfortunate. Did not show or call for appointment. Wasted my time. I made a special trip to my new house for this appointment because I'm not living there yet, I only came to my new house for this appointment this morning. We had an appointment at 9:15 this morning (not a window of time, but 9:15). We scheduled it via Yelp messenger. At around 9:25 having not had anyone come or received a call, I sent a message on Yelp indicating that I needed to know if he was coming because I had to leave shortly for another appointment. I waited till 9:35 for a response and then called. The person who answered said they could be there in about 20 minutes and asked if it was okay. I told them it wasn't. Being 40 min late and no attempt to contact me is not good business. I respected their time enough to drive to the new house to meet at the agreed upon time rather than cancelling short notice when I realized it would be inconvenient for me and the business didn't respect my time enough to honor the appointment time or contact me. To express my dissatisfaction with not being contacted, I asked if they had tried to contact me to tell me they would miss the appointment time. The person on the phone said someone tried to call but there was no answer. It was not believable to me and I told him I had no missed calls or new messages on Yelp.
