Once again, Completely Satisfied and Highly Recommend New Light Electric to my family and friends. I'm grateful to say over the years, we've saved up and got many jobs completed by New Light, Electric in Long Beach, CA. For example: elctrical switch upgrades, installation of new costco light fixtures, elctrical outlets, running new lines underneath the house for installaion of proper electrical outlets for new costco toto bidets, upgrading the circuit box/panel, digging up and installing underground electrical to a dettached garage for: fridge, wall outlets, a garagedoor ceiling outlet, and powering a treadmill. Reached out to them via yelp, no response. A little disappointing, since after perusing reviews of electricians, they ended up on my shortlist. Still, all's well that ends well, since I accidentally lucked into a great electrician who did a ton of work for me in under an hour, charged pennies, and to whom I've now referred three neighbors. Maybe it's better to call them outright, or maybe I just didn't tell a convincing enough tale in my inquiry, but it was weird they didn't get back to me at ALL. read more

Michelle was amazing! She helped me trouble shoot and since my problem saving me money. This shows great integrity and honesty. I'll be calling them first with any of my issues! Thank you again! read more

We hired New Light to re-wire our old home. For the most part they did an excellent job however we have a few faulty things that stopped working this last year. When we called about it they said were too busy. All of the hardwired smoke alarms kept repeatedly alerting even after changing batteries so we had to dismantel them. The ceiling fan in our bathroom has a faulty sensor and runs even when no one is in there. The only outlet in the bathroom is non functionable as well. Our shade in our patio which was re wired worked once and then stopped over a year ago. It would have been nice if they stood by their work and fixed the things that are non-functioning instead of passing us off to someone else. read more

Met with the rep. He showed up on time and worked with my schedule. He was very knowledgeable with the job we discussed. However, two things that gave me pause. First, the overall time frame to complete the job was very short. I felt that once I signed, I'd see the project go much longer (just my gut feeling). I also felt that he attempted to upsell me on a few items that I didn't want or need. I actually confirmed this was indeed the case by doing research on the internet and speaking with other electricians. I'm knocking off two stars for those reasons. read more

Kind Professionalism from All & Precise Service One of our light switches had broken so we needed an electrician to replace it. We decided to have dimmers put into bedrooms that we had been wanting to do since we moved into our house 4 years ago. We had worked with New Light Electric twice before and knew they were the team for the job. We reached out and Danielle (director of operations) was awesome in her communication (using texts which I love). She scheduled José to come to perform the quote. José arrived a little early and was attentive as we walked through what we wanted. He asked questions to ensure he understood. He also set expectations at to some things that might not be able to be done. A few days later we received a clear quote. I called Danielle and we got an appointment booked, for the next day with Danny. This morning, Danny arrived on time and we walked through everything again. He also advised that some things might not be able to be done and he won't be sure until he opened things up. Danny quickly got to work and was efficient and meticulous (in a VERY good way). He asked to review things that were not in the norm (we have a very quirky house), gave me options and honored my choices. One of the items in the dining room entailed additional equipment and time and he advised me of the charge before getting to work so I had the option to decline. I did approve and he continued to complete the work. Once Danny was done, I did a walkthrough and everything was done to perfection. Danny made sure he was neat and left no dust/debris behind. I will continue to work with New Light Electric for all of our future electricity needs. read more

My 1929 house had old knob and tube electrical. Jose and his team completely redid the electrical in the house, upgraded the main panel and relocated it. House has all original stucco walls, and they removed, moved and added outlets and switches throughout without damaging the walls. No channeling or breaking apart stucco either. It took 3 team member 4 days to complete the project. They were very professional and thorough, no shortcuts. I highly recommend them. read more

Almost half of the house abruptly lost power on a late afternoon. Unfortunately, the refrigerator, washing machine, dryer, A/C unit and several outlets and some lights were impacted by this failure. I called Jose the next morning who promptly sent out Danny and Evan to troubleshoot the problem. They opened the electrical panel and found the root cause of the problem. They went on to fix the problem within the same day. My wife and I appreciate the quick response to our problem. Danny and Evan were professionals in their work, and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work done on their home. read more

Had New Light Electric install a upgrade panel to our home back in Oct 2021. Top rated work, the utmost professionalism, cost provided was within our budget (including permits; some outfits wanted near the same price quoted without permits). It's been near two years since the work was done and we have had no problems. I will definately be calling them back for more work when finances permit. Right now, the go-to electrician for our home. read more

WOW! These reviews are legit and NLE is the best! Jose and his team are total professionals. They have their work dialed in and very professional. They arrive on time (or earlier) remain in contact and complete tasks on time. I was amazed as they surpassed my expectations at every turn. We decided my mom's old LBC home needed an electric upgrade years ago. However everyone we called was flaky or way above our price range. Finally we reached our breaking point. My mom lives alone and her power was blowing several times weekly. We would have to shut down nearly everything just to run the microwave or toaster. We couldn't even run two major appliances at the same time. When we came to visit her one evening only to find her sitting in the dark we knew it was time. To be thorough we vetted 4 companies. New Light surpassed the rest fairly quickly. When we met Jose and his dedicated team we were put at ease. He was so kind to my mom who was working from home at the time. The team at NLE even ran independent generators to keep her single goldfish alive and have her computer up and running. That was above and beyond!!! Every evening we were updated on progress and briefed on what we could expect the next day. I don't even want to print all they did for my mom because I don't know what they do on a case by case basis. Needless to say she was safe and secure. They even brought her food when they needed to work on the kitchen! She was delighted. It has been close to a year since we had Jose and team in her house and we have more than enough power to go around! There were a few minor glitches in the weeks following the work (which was extensive, whole house and panel) but they came out immediately and adjusted when something needed service. All in all we would recommend NLE wholeheartedly with ZERO reservation! I could hardly believe their reviews when we first started looking for an electrical company in the LB. How could a company be so good in a time when customer service is a lost art?? Well, they are that good and have really given me hope that people still want to be the best of the best in their trade. God bless! read more

Jose and his team were great. Replaced our old original breaker panel with a brand new, solar ready panel. Work was done in less then estimated time. Panel works perfectly and passed all inspections flawlessly. They had to cut stucco in order to make room for the new panel. The stucco work around the box looks great. Highly recommended. Also already planning to hire them for additional electrical work. read more

New Light Electric - Electricians Near Me - Bellflower, California

Special Thanks to New Light Electric. My experience was exceptional for repair for my outside outlet. The process started with a phone message left early Monday. I called 2 different Yelp 5 star companies. New Light was the first to call and thus i decided to give them the opportunity. Danielle promptly returned my call within 1 hour, extremely courteous, and professional. I was scheduled for a free estimate for the next day which i appreciated needing to get my repair taken care of. Danielle explained the the fee estimate and the minimum service fee for diagnosis and repair if I approved. On Tuesday, Danielle texted me before the appointment coordinating the time of arrival for Danny the electrician, 15 min before. As i had a busy schedule, I appreciated New Light Electric's commitment to coordinate the time of arrival real time. Danny arrived as communicated. He was also very courteous, and professional. My outlet was tied to multiple circuits, which I was unable to successfully repair on my own with many different pig tied wires. Danny gave me extreme confidence on his experience and ability to easily fix. I asked if he was confident he can fix it. He confidently stated, if I cannot you don't pay anything which was very helpful. After reviewing my configuration, Danny advised me he needed to get some specific outdoor covers to make my fix better, rather than just connecting the wires and putting back the old cover. The repair was completed very quickly and efficiently. Danny was very friendly, and explained all questions in a helpful way. The final price was very reasonable and was the minimum service fee as explained up front without surprise or additions. I had a few go back checks asked and Danny happily obliged and verified all requests fully. Danny even stated that i can call anytime to ask for electrical advice whether they do the work or not, and even suggested a few future suggestions for some electrical future work i wanted to consider. My experience was exceptional. I had been looking for a reputable, professional electrician, who will do exceptional work in the right way not rushed, with reasonable prices for some time. I am quite thrilled to have used New Electric and will definitely call them for any future needs. Thanks Danielle and Danny! 100% happy. 5 well earned stars! read more

Jose and his crew are incredible. Always on time, whether it was for the quote, the work, or the follow up. They are the most polite contractors I have ever met! Danielle, in the office, was amazing and fun to work with! We had a full panel move, upgrade and tower relocation. Candi and his team were so polite and very conscientious of keeping everything neat and clean. They were meticulous at everything they did. The stucco and wall repair look like they were never even torn up. It was reasonable compared to other quotes that I received. If you want a good quality team, I highly recommend New Light Electric! read more

The short - Jose and his team did an amazing job. They were all very kind. Reached out to New Light initially for a panel upgrade as we had a very outdated/unsafe panel. Jose came by our home to check things out and answer our questions. Jose, from the beginning, was very kind and explained to us the technical side as well as our options. We learned a lot from him. Jose was patient with us as we discussed our options and was always available for questions. At the end, we went with a panel upgrade, removing overhead wires to the garage and placing underground, adding an exhaust fan to the bathroom, running to new circuits to major appliances, installing correct brackets/cieling fan mounting, and various other junction box improvements for safety. We believe they did a great job patching the areas that needed to be patched where the panel was changed. While safety was our priority, we did have to consider prices while we were shopping around. Jose was what made us really want to choose New Light Electric, but his prices were an added bonus. We feel safer in our home now. Would recommend them to anyone who needs major work as well as small projects. We truly feel like we found someone we always want us to help us with our electrical needs. Thank you to Jose, Candy, Rudy, Nestor, Danny, and Jose! read more

I had Jose of New Light Electric out on a bit of an emergency basis as our pool electrical panel had failed and the water filtration system was no longer functioning. The pool had become a an uninviting, brackish place. Jose was accommodating to our schedule, spent a generous amount of his time on a HOT day to assess issues and suggest clear, corrective options, and promptly provided us a fair estimate, as he had promised. We appreciatively recommend Mr Castellanos and his company to address your daunting electrical challenges! JG in Lakewood read more

Absolutely the BEST electrician in the LBC! Jose and his team did an electrical panel upgrade on our 1920s historic home about 6 months ago. He's currently doing some smaller projects for us, and we plan to do a full rewire with him in the future. His team does excellent work and his prices are fair and competitive. Danny (one of his workers who does the finishing touches) stopped by today and fixed a few small things for me. I was equally as impressed with him and his understanding for what our project entails. If you have an older home definitely give them a call for any electrical work. It took us months to find a company like this and we had bids from almost every electrician in the city before deciding to use New Light Electric. read more

Full disclosure - I did not have actual electrical work done. My Aunt did and she raved about how good they were! I spoke with Jose twice about a condo. Jose was full of knowledge and information concerning the electrical. He didn't stop me from buying it, but he gave me such detailed information I was able to make a very important decision based on the facts of a professional. Thanks José! read more

My house needed an electrical panel upgrade. I searched online, read several positive reviews about New Light Electric, and decided to call. I barely sent a text to the company when Jose Castellanos, the owner replied. That alone was impressive. He never dropped the ball. He provided a reasonable estimate, and I accepted his offer. The crew was exceptional. Like Jose, they were friendly and professional. These guys REALLY know what they're doing. The job was successfully completed that same day. Kudos to Jose and his workers! I give them five stars, and two thumbs up! read more

Jose was recommended to me by my neighbor who said he did great work, and he was right! I appreciated Jose's promptness for appointments and quick response to texts. This business is amazing! Every staff member is knowledgeable and friendly. We were given a fair bid and time frame to complete the rewiring of our 1944 built home. Thank you New Light Electric for installing my new electrical panel and everything in between that was needed throughout my home's remodel. Jose and his crew are professional, detail oriented, trustworthy and got the job done quickly. There is no other electrician I would hire over Jose. We used New Light Electric to do a complete rewire of an older home in Long Beach in March of 2023. Jose and his team completed the job on time and it passed inspection perfectly. But beyond that, Jose made sure that that the elderly owner was taken care of with minimal disruption of electrical service. They also installed new can lights in the living room with dimmers and a new heater in the bathroom which was way beyond the original scope of work. Jose even bought lunch for the owner! Just excellent service and great care. Thank you, Jose. read more

I set an hour consultation for an estimate through New Light Electric's online system. The online system gave a specific start time (NOT an arrival window) and end time for this appointment and let me know the appointment would be with Jose Castellanos, who I now know is the owner of New Light Electric. Almost 40 minutes after my appointment start time Jose still had not shown up, nor had he called. I then called him to cancel the appointment as I had another appointment happening at the scheduled conclusion of our appointment and would not have time to go through everything with Jose. When I called Jose fought with me on the phone about the cancellation, blaming the online system for having issues, saying he was unaware of the appointment; he even went so far to say he only got notice of the appointment while we were on the phone, asking when I made the appointment (it was 2 or 3 days before the scheduled appointment and I got the automatic notification from the system 24 hours in advance). He asked me if I wanted to reschedule and I said, "No, thank you." Jose apparently did not like this answer and got his team to begin texting me from the office after we got off the phone asking me to reschedule. I did not answer, because since Jose started to fight with me on the phone, I figured he was someone I was uninterested in working with. My next appointment arrived and I was busy into that appointment time when there was a knock at my home door; much to my UNCOMFORTABLE surprise it was a very unprofessional Jose, acting like he should be there and I should let him in the house. He acted like he had the sudden realization that I was the one who cancelled with him about 25 minutes ago, then attempted to have an argument with me, saying he was only 3 minutes late, when he was an HOUR AND FIVE MINUTES LATE. He showed up at my house and tried to argue with me. I do NOT believe that Jose was mistaken and showed up to the wrong place, which was what he tried to play it off as (and would also be HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!) and I do not believe I made the wrong decision of not working with Jose Castellanos or New Light Electric! read more

Jose (New Light Company) visited my house yesterday for a walk-through of the work I wanted done. He quickly provided a quote later that day and squeezed in the work the following day. New Light Electric just finished installing 6 new Led can light modules and converted 15 - 6 inch can lights over to led modules. Arrived early this morning and 3 workers started on my job. We saw the New Light Electric ad in The 908 magazine. We always try to get recommendations from friends as well before we do any type of home improvement. We found a friend who had work done by them so they came highly recommended. They did not disappoint. Jose, the owner, was very responsive to our many text messages, and they were able to give us the timeframe we needed for our project, which was to replace all light switches and outlets in the house. In addition, they fixed a light on the front porch that was not working. The work team was very professional and efficient. They completed the job in less time than we thought it would take. We highly recommend New Light Electric. read more

We hired New Light (Jose C.) to upgrade/replace an electrical panel from 60W to 200W. Work was done on time, communication was prompt by text and email. They also repaired some water damaged wall sections they discovered during the work. Candido and his team swept up after and left the patio clean. Overall, very professional and I'd hire again and have already recommended them to a neighbor. Their rates are competitive too, as we asked several places for an estimate. read more
