Reached out to them via yelp, no response. A little disappointing, since after perusing reviews of electricians, they ended up on my shortlist. Still, all's well that ends well, since I accidentally lucked into a great electrician who did a ton of work for me in under an hour, charged pennies, and to whom I've now referred three neighbors. Maybe it's better to call them outright, or maybe I just didn't tell a convincing enough tale in my inquiry, but it was weird they didn't get back to me at ALL. read more

We hired New Light to re-wire our old home. For the most part they did an excellent job however we have a few faulty things that stopped working this last year. When we called about it they said were too busy. All of the hardwired smoke alarms kept repeatedly alerting even after changing batteries so we had to dismantel them. The ceiling fan in our bathroom has a faulty sensor and runs even when no one is in there. The only outlet in the bathroom is non functionable as well. Our shade in our patio which was re wired worked once and then stopped over a year ago. It would have been nice if they stood by their work and fixed the things that are non-functioning instead of passing us off to someone else. read more

Met with the rep. He showed up on time and worked with my schedule. He was very knowledgeable with the job we discussed. However, two things that gave me pause. First, the overall time frame to complete the job was very short. I felt that once I signed, I'd see the project go much longer (just my gut feeling). I also felt that he attempted to upsell me on a few items that I didn't want or need. I actually confirmed this was indeed the case by doing research on the internet and speaking with other electricians. I'm knocking off two stars for those reasons. read more

Almost half of the house abruptly lost power on a late afternoon. Unfortunately, the refrigerator, washing machine, dryer, A/C unit and several outlets and some lights were impacted by this failure. I called Jose the next morning who promptly sent out Danny and Evan to troubleshoot the problem. They opened the electrical panel and found the root cause of the problem. Kind Professionalism from All & Precise Service One of our light switches had broken so we needed an electrician to replace it. We decided to have dimmers put into bedrooms that we had been wanting to do since we moved into our house 4 years ago. We had worked with New Light Electric twice before and knew they were the team for the job. We reached out and Danielle (director of operations) was awesome in her communication (using texts which I love). She scheduled José to come to perform the quote. José arrived a little early and was attentive as we walked through what we wanted. He asked questions to ensure he understood. He also set expectations at to some things that might not be able to be done. A few days later we received a clear quote. I called Danielle and we got an appointment booked, for the next day with Danny. This morning, Danny arrived on time and we walked through everything again. He also advised that some things might not be able to be done and he won't be sure until he opened things up. Danny quickly got to work and was efficient and meticulous (in a VERY good way). He asked to review things that were not in the norm (we have a very quirky house), gave me options and honored my choices. One of the items in the dining room entailed additional equipment and time and he advised me of the charge before getting to work so I had the option to decline. My 1929 house had old knob and tube electrical. Jose and his team completely redid the electrical in the house, upgraded the main panel and relocated it. House has all original stucco walls, and they removed, moved and added outlets and switches throughout without damaging the walls. No channeling or breaking apart stucco either. WOW! These reviews are legit and NLE is the best! Jose and his team are total professionals. They have their work dialed in and very professional. They arrive on time (or earlier) remain in contact and complete tasks on time. I was amazed as they surpassed my expectations at every turn. We decided my mom's old LBC home needed an electric upgrade years ago. However everyone we called was flaky or way above our price range. Finally we reached our breaking point. My mom lives alone and her power was blowing several times weekly. We would have to shut down nearly everything just to run the microwave or toaster. We couldn't even run two major appliances at the same time. When we came to visit her one evening only to find her sitting in the dark we knew it was time. To be thorough we vetted 4 companies. New Light surpassed the rest fairly quickly. When we met Jose and his dedicated team we were put at ease. He was so kind to my mom who was working from home at the time. The team at NLE even ran independent generators to keep her single goldfish alive and have her computer up and running. That was above and beyond!!! Every evening we were updated on progress and briefed on what we could expect the next day. I don't even want to print all they did for my mom because I don't know what they do on a case by case basis. Needless to say she was safe and secure. They even brought her food when they needed to work on the kitchen! She was delighted. It has been close to a year since we had Jose and team in her house and we have more than enough power to go around! Special Thanks to New Light Electric. My experience was exceptional for repair for my outside outlet. The process started with a phone message left early Monday. I called 2 different Yelp 5 star companies. New Light was the first to call and thus i decided to give them the opportunity. Danielle promptly returned my call within 1 hour, extremely courteous, and professional. I was scheduled for a free estimate for the next day which i appreciated needing to get my repair taken care of. Danielle explained the the fee estimate and the minimum service fee for diagnosis and repair if I approved. On Tuesday, Danielle texted me before the appointment coordinating the time of arrival for Danny the electrician, 15 min before. As i had a busy schedule, I appreciated New Light Electric's commitment to coordinate the time of arrival real time. Danny arrived as communicated. He was also very courteous, and professional. My outlet was tied to multiple circuits, which I was unable to successfully repair on my own with many different pig tied wires. Danny gave me extreme confidence on his experience and ability to easily fix. I asked if he was confident he can fix it. He confidently stated, if I cannot you don't pay anything which was very helpful. After reviewing my configuration, Danny advised me he needed to get some specific outdoor covers to make my fix better, rather than just connecting the wires and putting back the old cover. The repair was completed very quickly and efficiently. Danny was very friendly, and explained all questions in a helpful way. The final price was very reasonable and was the minimum service fee as explained up front without surprise or additions. I had a few go back checks asked and Danny happily obliged and verified all requests fully. The short - Jose and his team did an amazing job. They were all very kind. Reached out to New Light initially for a panel upgrade as we had a very outdated/unsafe panel. Jose came by our home to check things out and answer our questions. Jose, from the beginning, was very kind and explained to us the technical side as well as our options. We learned a lot from him. Jose was patient with us as we discussed our options and was always available for questions. At the end, we went with a panel upgrade, removing overhead wires to the garage and placing underground, adding an exhaust fan to the bathroom, running to new circuits to major appliances, installing correct brackets/cieling fan mounting, and various other junction box improvements for safety. He's currently doing some smaller projects for us, and we plan to do a full rewire with him in the future. His team does excellent work and his prices are fair and competitive. We used New Light Electric to do a complete rewire of an older home in Long Beach in March of 2023. Jose and his team completed the job on time and it passed inspection perfectly. But beyond that, Jose made sure that that the elderly owner was taken care of with minimal disruption of electrical service. I set an hour consultation for an estimate through New Light Electric's online system. The online system gave a specific start time (NOT an arrival window) and end time for this appointment and let me know the appointment would be with Jose Castellanos, who I now know is the owner of New Light Electric. Almost 40 minutes after my appointment start time Jose still had not shown up, nor had he called. I then called him to cancel the appointment as I had another appointment happening at the scheduled conclusion of our appointment and would not have time to go through everything with Jose. When I called Jose fought with me on the phone about the cancellation, blaming the online system for having issues, saying he was unaware of the appointment; he even went so far to say he only got notice of the appointment while we were on the phone, asking when I made the appointment (it was 2 or 3 days before the scheduled appointment and I got the automatic notification from the system 24 hours in advance). He asked me if I wanted to reschedule and I said, "No, thank you." Jose apparently did not like this answer and got his team to begin texting me from the office after we got off the phone asking me to reschedule. I did not answer, because since Jose started to fight with me on the phone, I figured he was someone I was uninterested in working with. My next appointment arrived and I was busy into that appointment time when there was a knock at my home door; much to my UNCOMFORTABLE surprise it was a very unprofessional Jose, acting like he should be there and I should let him in the house. He acted like he had the sudden realization that I was the one who cancelled with him about 25 minutes ago, then attempted to have an argument with me, saying he was only 3 minutes late, when he was an HOUR AND FIVE MINUTES LATE. He showed up at my house and tried to argue with me. I do NOT believe that Jose was mistaken and showed up to the wrong place, which was what he tried to play it off as (and would also be HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!) and I do not believe I made the wrong decision of not working with Jose Castellanos or New Light Electric! read more

He was able to drop by the same day I contacted him via text to provide an estimate for installation of an EV fast charger and some other work. The estimate came over within a week during Christmastime, and he was able to schedule the work for the following week right after the new year. In addition to the hardwired EV charger installation, we also had him add some outlets to create a new coffee bar area, a new dedicated breaker in the kitchen, an outlet in the bathroom for a robotic litter box, and replace the weird lighting in the bathroom with updated and matching fixtures.
