This was the second time I was here the first time I had the Bacon jam burger and it was so good I wanted to go back again. This time however it wasn't as good, it was dry. Our service was quite slow took us 2 hours to dine which was fine but these days places want you in and out fast. read more

Really nice place to eat. We stopped here after seeing a show at Sight and Sound so we arrived approximately 2:30pm which put us after the lunch crowd and before the supper insanity. Walked in and no host anywhere but several people working there ran to find someone to help us and only a few minutes later we were seated in a clean quiet booth. Ordered the mushroom ravioli which was amazing! Husband ordered the skirt steak which arrived perfectly! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive! We were very impressed with our time there and will be returning soon! read more

The food, super yum; would Love to go back; everything delicious - unfortunately, I will not go back. Starting off with the positives, a crock of onion soup. One of the best made, restaurant onion soups I've had in a long time. Plenty of carnalized onions, perfect meaty broth (absence of salt), thick slice of herb bread, draped in melted cheese; perfection. Though my caesar was heaped with fresh, crisp romaine, topped with homemade croutons; the dressing itself, missed that zip of something (more lemon juice, dijon, worcestershire, parmigiano?) not sure. The dressing was a bit of a let down. A pineapple upside down cake was stellar. Moist, crumbly cake, a caramelly pineapple atop, alongside heavenly, rich ice-cream and a swirl, of homemade whipped topping. Now, to why we won't be coming back to this restaurant - the service. The restaurant was practically empty, but we were there for nearly two hours. We actually had three waitresses. I'm not kidding. Waitress one, was training waitress two. The trainer was so engrossed in the training, that she actually neglected the customer; my husband and myself. Waitress 1, spoke super fast, spoke over me and got my drink order wrong. Waitress 2, corrected it for us. Drinks were not refilled. Waitress three, brought out our food - but between soup and salad, was an hour wait. Between salad and dessert, was a thirty minute wait. Waitress three, brought us our dessert. My husband actually had to hunt down waitress one, to pay the bill. read more

The food is great, a little inconsistent (example Brussels sprouts, one time great other time undercooked) and wayyyyy too expensive. Also if you order online the "notes" aren't always followed (example, utensils, side of ketchup etc) But good overall. read more

Came here for my Dad's birthday back in March for the first time. I had a good experience! I got a gluten free cheesy bread as an appetizer (pretty much pizza) and it was awesome! I also got a reuben on GF bread and it hit the spot! It was really cool to see an extensive GF menu because it gave us a large range to pick from. Our waitress was really busy with all of us, but worked really hard and did an amazing job of taking care of us. We all had a really good experience here and I would definitely come back! read more

Service is awful here. Food was decent... not as good as it was 6 months ago. We are disappointed.

This restaurant is very comfy and cozy, service is quick. Friendly staff and great tasting food. Would recommend

All the food came in big portion sizes and had very good flavor. The people that work there are very nice but it took them quite some time to recheck the table for additional needs. They also forgot some things for the to-go order. Beautiful outdoor dining patio with stone walls and inside and outside seating. Lots of trees and a koi pond in the front area. Would recommend! read more

Came here with a large group last night, our waitress Ann (I believe) did such a fabulous job taking care of us. Couldn't have asked for better service. She killed it! My food, however left something to be desired. Ordered the Delmonico and while it was cooked well, it lacked any sort of flavor, not even salt... and was missing the herb butter AND the demi glace. Had the risotto cake and it was sooo black-pepper filled that it was almost too much. Honestly the only saving grace was that the fries were delicious with their ranch and the cheese curds were good too. read more

I have dined at this resteraunt a few times and food is excellent not to mention the Chef. The staff is friendly and spot on. The best is sitting outside when the weather permits. I will definitely be going back. read more

I was so disappointed in my experience here because I really wanted to love it! I came here before seeing a show at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theater which is right next door. The inside of the restaurant is a little odd. I get that it is a Robin Hood/treehouse them, but the inside seemed kind of dated. I wish we came in the summer so we could have tried the outdoor dining. It looked very cute. The service we received was awful. It took over an hour to get our food and we ordered as soon as we sat down. Even when we told our server that we were in a rush, the food still took another 20 minutes to come out. I'm not sure whether it was our server's fault or the kitchen's fault, but it made a nice evening very stressful. We had to get most of our food boxed to go and then we had to run to the theater to make it to the show on time. It was so awful I think that they should have taken one or multiple items off of our bill. Our food was good, I just wish it would have not taken forever! I had the caprese flatbread. I would come here again if I was in the area because there aren't a ton of options around here, but I would probably sit at the bar to ensure better and more attentive service. read more

My family and a friend from Australia came here for the first time to celebrate my 76th birthday. I would say that the overall rating leans more towards 4 1/2 stars than 4. First of all, the atmosphere is charming, and we were seated immediately at an outdoor patio, which was a joy since the weather was perfect. Service was perfection. Sadly, I don't remember the name of our server, but she was most accommodating and helpful. Now as to the food... there were some excellent items and some not quite perfection, although certainly not bad. I ordered the French Onion Soup, which was fantastic. There was an excess of cheese on top, but the broth and onions were absolutely delicious (one of the best I've ever had). For my meal I ordered the bone in pork chop. It was a generous cut of meat, but it came out looking dry. Then I was surprised to find that looks were deceiving. The meat was not only moist inside but also so tender that I was able to use my butter knife to cut into it (they forgot a steak knife). That said, the meat did need a bit more seasoning. The potatoes that came with it were both creamy and flavorful. The best part was the coleslaw. There are a ton of ways to prepare that dish and theirs was truly the best for my taste... very creamy and with nicely cut strips of cabbage. For the most part my companions were pleased with their meals too. One ordered the salmon and declared it full of flavor and quite moist and tender. Another ordered the cottage pie and also enjoyed it very much. The last one ordered the meatloaf. They liked it, but after taking a taste I found the meat to be too soft with no bite to it, although the flavor was fine. We all very much enjoyed the complimentary birthday Nutty Buddy Brownie, along with the Lemon Sorbet, which was not too sweet and very refreshing. Prices were very reasonable for what you get. One last thing, although I don't drink, the others enjoyed a few different cocktails and said they were excellent. read more

Was not impressed! The first thing I noticed was the smell it's like the dirty dishwater smell that restaurants to get when they use gross water to wash down the tables. Our menus completely stuck to the table it was very appalling. Since this was a work lunch I didn't wanna make too much of a ruckus and decided to only order a side salad and soup. My bill was $10 which was nice because that place was less than satisfactory. I was wondering why they only had an overall rating of three stars when I walked in because it looks like a very nice and fun establishment... but now I know. read more

Been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Great atmosphere, amazing service and food. The Skirt steak was honestly one of the best steaks I can remember, cooked perfectly and the demi glaze was to die for. Despite being overwhelming busy, they were able to keep up. It was honestly impressive seeing everyone come together and rock it out. Tabitha was/is amazing and an absolute rockstar!! Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed!! If you love dining outside, then you will love this restaurant. It is spacious with 2 huge floors of outdoor dining areas. Love the ponds at the entrance with lots of various sizes of koi fish and lotus flowers. They even gave out small container of fish food to feed the fish. Fish and chip $15 with 2 large pieces of fish- 4 stars Wild mushroom ravioli $16 - beautiful presentation, sauce a bit too oily and heavy - 3 stars stroganoff with beef tips - too heavy - 3 stars Ribs were too dry The real stars are the complimentary Legend salad and Ceasar salad. They were quite large portion and fresh. Service was great. Will definitely come back when I am in the area. read more

I've only ever been here for dinner and drinks, and it's been awhile since I've done that. Nice place to sit outside in the summer and enjoy dinner. Server was friendly and not overly crowded for a lunch meeting. The booths help soften the noise. It can get loud due to the layout and acoustics. No complaints with the food. I've never had anything that was horrible. Consistent experiences. read more

What a great experience. We came in after a long day of antiquing in Adamstown. The seating is gorgeous. The deck is huge. When you walk up to the building there's a mote with fish and lush plants. I guess it gives the castle vibe. We came in for a early dinner around 4:30. We were seated with no problem. Service was friendly. We ordered a flatbread and French onion soup for starters. The soup was really good. I ordered the beef pie and my husband got steak. He said the steak could use more flavor but we were both happy with our meals. Desert was great. Husband had bread pudding for the first time at the servers recommendation. He loved It. I got the chocolate truffle bomb. It was bomb. If you're looking for a relaxing outdoor atmosphere with good food I'd definitely say stop at Loxleys. read more

I stayed at the Heritage Hotel Saturday to Sunday for my cousin's wedding. The wedding was off premises. Loxley's made accommodations for an after party at their establishment which was amazing!! The service was beyond stellar! Zach (bartender) was hands down, THE BEST, not just his fantastic bartending skills, but very importantly his AWESOME personality!! This was not an easy squad, as both families know how to party! All of the staff were amazing I followed up Sunday morning for brunch, with Zach back behind the bar (bless his heart). Wonderful way to start the day before heading home. I would 100% recommend not only the hotel, but Loxley's for sure to get some food and drink and enjoy!! Oh, and don't try to pet the coy fish. Just ask the hostess for some fish food to feed them. Just a 52 year old's thoughts read more

What an amazing venue. We hosted a baby shower here and I cannot recommend the venue and team at Loxleys enough. Our guest count kept growing and Loxleys was so accommodating. We eventually had to change rooms to fit everyone and it was no problem! Erinn added some decorations to the buffet table area and they fit perfectly with our Woodland theme! The guests loved the venue and the food was excellent! We are so appreciative for all their help and providing our family and friends with a beautiful day to celebrate a little one on the way! read more

Wow! Has this place changed! Unfortunately not for the better. First, we came here just for the ribs. They changed the menu about two months ago and took them off. Second, my wife ordered one of their specialty drinks. The waitress came back an said they ran out of that flavor today.... My wife ordered something else. The waitress delivered the first drink my wife ordered saying they found just enough to make her drink. My wife says it is a very weak drink. She thinks it's about half simple syrup. Third, we both ordered the brisket sandwich. My wife says that it really is very thinly sliced brisket. I say it's thin sliced roast beef. I've had just as good meat from Arby's. Fourth, it looks like they've stopped allowing you to choose a charity donate to when you pay your bill. I want to close with a couple positive things The burger bun was very good. Very nicely toasted. The French Fries were also good. Nice and crispy and stayed crispy. read more

We had the cheese curds as an appetizer (delicious) and I had the goat cheese burger and if I lived closer I would be at Loxley's ordering it constantly. This was my first and last visit. We arrived for a table of two and were told 30-45 min wait. No problem, we went to the bar to have a drink and order an appetizer. The round bar smells of stale beer, the floor is sticky, the bar top was covered with empties and hadn't been wiped. There were 3 people working the bar but only the female appeared to actually be working. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak dip appetizer which took about 15 min to come out. We dug right in only to discover it was cold in the center. We told the bartender and she took it back to the kitchen. 7 minutes later it came back out this time with a spoon so we could make sure it was hot. 2nd one was maybe room temperature in the middle, the bartender stuck her finger in it and agreed. Now we go for the third try and 10 minutes later it comes out actually hot but it's our same dip from the first time (we had broken a chip off in it and it was still there). 32 minutes total to get a hot appetizer and 3 tries Now our table was ready and we took our drinks and appetizer to the table with the hostess. We finish our appetizer and our drinks, never seeing any server. Finally a young female server stops and ask if everything is ok??? We said nobody has even been here yet. No apology, she said "we all thought you had a server because you already had food and drinks". We say we would like water, more drinks and we are ready to order. She doesn't clear our empty drink glasses or appetizer plate. Our food comes out in roughly 15 min and she finally brings our drinks (still no water). We ask again for water and she says she will bring it right over. Still doesn't take the empties. We finally get water just as we are ready to leave so we say we'd like our check. She types into her digital pad and points to a total saying we can pay her directly. I ask for a printed copy just for spite and because we wanted to see it was accurate. She brings the printed copy and places it on the table, we verify the amount and flag her down to pay it. She's annoyed now because we want to pay by credit card and she questions why we wanted a printed slip. We paid the bill, left an 8% tip and left disguised. Someone need to get this entire place straightened out. Bad service, semi rude staff, cold food, not cleaned floors. Just horrible. read more

We usually have a pretty decent time here but tonight was a definite miss sadly . Our server Ann was fantastic, she was quick with our drinks and water requests. She recommended a flatbread pizza for an appetizer so we went with the Buffalo Chicken one and it was delicious ! I ordered the Reuben which was okay but the bread wasn't grilled and there was an overdose of Thousand Island dressing , I only ate half of the sandwich and declined a to-go box . My boyfriend ordered the Friar Tuck burger which he's ordered there before - turkey burger with Carolina BBQ , cheddar cheese, bacon , jalapeños and onion rings , simple enough right ? Nope . He received a turkey burger with some type of cheese , jalapeños, lettuce and a tomato slice . The server apologized and took it back , returning with what she called a " refreshed " burger . They added a few onion rings and a squirt of bbq sauce to his burger which is now cool along with his fries . But again ... no bacon or Carolina bbq . Ann , our server , asked another server to get some bacon from the kitchen and she brought that to us . There was another server rushing around because she was "trying to get out of here " so maybe the kitchen was in that state of mind too even though it wasn't even near closing time. Ann apologized again and said she'd let the manager know. About 5 minutes later the manager came out and also apologized and offered to pay for a round of drinks for us ( why not just take off the burger price ? ) . Imo the whole thing was not good customer service. I would think you would offer to remake the burger the proper way or make something else fresh instead of "refreshing " a burger that was made wrong and is now cold and dry along with the fries . We left feeling a bit insulted and disappointed. Chefs should take pride in the plates they send out and if your customer has to tell you what your menu says then there's a problem. Our experience this evening left us feeling like we were an inconvenience or that we were bothering them because what we ordered ( and we're paying for ) was not what we asked for . I'm sure we'll eventually go back and give them another but it's going to be quite awhile . Sorry Loxleys but you dropped the ball on this one . read more
