So I went to Lowe's to pick up four pieces of half inch rebar, that was it. I checked my app on my phone and it said they had over 100 pieces. So I get there, and they have none in there bin on aisle 21. I went to the front contractor's desk and she checked her Lowe's app and said they had plenty in the back. So I thought I should have them go pull it to make sure they have it. And the Lowe's worker said I had to pay for it first. I'm in hurry I didn't want to argue and so I paid for it because I'm in a time crunch. So the worker goes to the back and says he doesn't have it. So now I had to go stand and return line for $24.00. I should have insisted that he goes to check and pulls the order before I pay for it. This is why I don't like dealing with Lowe's. This does not sound normal to me that I have to pay for a 24-dollar item first before they go pull it. Extremely frustrated and not happy with Lowe's. I should have went to Home Depot--i wouldn't have had this problem of having to pay for it first. Absolutely terrible customer service. I spent 1 hour and 10 minutes on hold just trying to get someone to answer the phone for a simple quote, and no one ever picked up. For a company as big as Lowe's, this is honestly embarrassing. I used this store a lot last year, so I expected better service, but clearly things have gone downhill. If you're going to have a phone line for customers, then at least hire people who can actually answer the phone. Making customers wait over an hour with zero response is completely unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for people's time. It feels like customer service here just doesn't exist anymore. When someone is trying to give you business and can't even reach a person after more than an hour, something is seriously wrong with the way things are being run. Purchased a clearance microwave that did not heat or turntable spin when installed. Tried to return it and could not because of the very small "sold as is" print on the tag that no one reads and is not advertised anywhere else. Cashier Victoria was not very customer friendly, a month ago I bought some PLU wood and waited for like 30 mins. No one showed up so I left the plywood as is. Today I was going to try again so I asked Victoria would anyone be available to cut the wood today since I had to wait so long on my last visit, she said her guy just went to break so it might be a while. I asked how long is his break 30 mins? She said 15 mins. I placed an online order to pick up in store. No one was willing to fill it. So, I drove to Victorville to see what was going on, and try to find help and get my stuff. The guy sitting at the customer service desk refused to move a muscle to help me, or even attempt to find someone to help me. I've never seen anything like this inaction before. He was just sitting at the customer service desk doing nothing. The store was not busy. I started to look around for someone to help me, and came across a young man named Shane who took over the situation and started gathering the items for my unfilled order. One of those items was 6 bags of concrete. He picked them up and help load my truck, and by this time, with another guy he enlisted to help, once he got to the lumber dept. with my fence posts. I'm sorry I have to give the store 1 star, but if I could specifically give stars to Shane, I would give him 100 stars. His attitude was the EXACT OPPOSITE of the completely useless and unhelpful customer service workers who simply refused to lift a finger to fulfill my order. The only reason I didn't cancel this order was because I had received, and used, a 10% off coupon code that came in the mail, and I knew if I cancelled it, I would not be able to use that code again. As completely useless as the customer service employees were, just sitting on their a**, SHANE WAS UNBELIEVABLE. His attitude was amazing, and he was so competent, knowing exactly how to fulfill my items, scan here and there, and finalize my order. I believe there was a young man in the lumber dept who could have helped with my order, but the customer service employees would not notify him, or anyone. As I said, I ran down Shane all on my own. He was actually working in the garden department. Customers should not have to be in the situation of finding the employee who is going to fulfill my order. It was ridiculous. I went in directly after my long commute home to purchase a new washing machine as mine died approximately 3 weeks ago. I have been researching this specific washer online for a couple of weeks now and I was sure this was what I wanted. I was very excited to finally be able to purchase it. Lowe's had the best price so I walked in directly to the appliance section. I walked around the washing machines and found the washer I wanted. I waited there for a few moments and looked around. There were two young female employees present in appliances sitting at the center computer desk talking. The two young ladies did not acknowledge me at all so I walked around the section for a few more minutes, so they could see that I was shopping. I noticed there was an open box washer that was the same brand and had the features I wanted in the new model so I took a closer look at it. It was definitely a good deal but it indicated that it had been repaired, I again looked up and over at the young ladies sitting there talking. Nope they could not have cared less that I was there. Now a bit annoyed I continued to walk around the section. A young male employee who was coming in from the garden area saw me and walked directly over to me and asked me if he could help me. I said YES thank you. I'm here to buy a washer, but I did want to ask a few questions about this open box/repaired model. We walked over to that washer and he answered my questions in a quick few seconds. I said thank you and then took him over to the new model I wanted to purchase. I told him I tried to purchase it online, but it wouldn't give me a delivery date for Saturday and I need it delivered on Saturday because that's the day I would be home to receive it. He said no problem. Let's walk over here. We wandered over to where the ladies were still sitting there talking about "Starbeez gift cards" and he said can I use your computer. One girl who didn't even say a word got up and moved over to the next chair never stopping her NON-work conversation with the other employee. He showed me the delivery date for Saturday, we discussed it for a few short minutes about time windows etc and the he rang me up for the new model washer I wanted. He made sure I also purchased the set up kit and arranged for the Saturday delivery I needed. This took less than 15 minutes, and I was done. All without either female employee acknowledging us at all. I thanked him and he headed back to his department, I took a lap around the refrigerator ms and then went to the front to ask to speak to a manager. I waited a good 15 maybe 20 minutes and the same male employee, Shane, came up to me and said was there something else? I said I wanted to speak to a manager, he said is everything ok? I said well I was really disappointed in the two female employees lack of customer service or any assistance AND very happy with your customer service and assistance and I wanted to relay that to the manager. He smiled and said thank you, and I am actually a supervisor on duty right, in gardening (I knew he didn't work in Appliances when he came in from outside area to assist me) I will talk with them. I appreciate your compliment and we do have a survey you can take. I thanked him again and told him I would complete the survey for him, and I left. I would have walked out had Shane not come up and offer to assist because if the employees can't be bothered I surely didn't need to spend my money at that store. I would've happily driven across town to the other Lowe's in Apple Valley to make my purchase. I even looked at refrigerators after Shane rang me up and neither female employee stopped chatting to even acknowledge me once. Shane was the absolute only saving grace to this entire encounter. LET THIS BE A WARNING Do not buy any kitchen appliances from this location! I bought a refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. I paid extra to have each installed, and the old appliances hauled away. At no time did the sales lady ask any questions about my hookups at my house. The first date of delivery was set for 8 am. to noon. I received a text the day before the refrigerator and stove were set for delivery, but the time was incorrect, so I had to contact them to reschedule. Along with their text was a link to reschedule. However, I was contacted the next day, informing me that the delivery people were on their way. I then called the company and informed them of the link confirming a rescheduled date and time. I was told that they never received the changed delivery date. So, I called their scheduling department and tried to confirm the new date of delivery. I was informed that the rescheduled date was unavailable. A third delivery day was set for the 5th of May. The delivery people arrived and moved my couch, end table, and another table aside to bring in the new refrigerator and stove. I was then informed that they could not install the stove due to my having propane. They did, however, place the new stove in place without hooking it up and hauled the old stove away. The refrigerator was another ridiculous issue. I was told that they could not install the new refrigerator because they could not unhook the old refrigerator. So they left the old refrigerator in place and set the new refrigerator against my cabinet. Upon attempting to plug in the new refrigerator, they could not figure out how the cord could reach. My daughter had to push the refrigerator over before the installer realized there was a way for the cord to reach. Instead of the people who were getting paid to do the installation, my daughter had to step in to fix the situation! It's absolutely shameful for the installers to rely on a customer to do their job!!! Finally, these people left without accomplishing most of task they were paid to accomplish other than delivery and one haul away. They also left my living room furniture pushed across the room so that, again, my daughter had to move all the heavy furniture back into place on her own. As if that was not bad enough, the delivery people left my front gate open so that my dogs got out after they left! I called the manager at Lowes by the name of Chris. He promised to get ahold of the delivery peoples boss and have him call me to reschedule another installation attempt at another time. So far, that will make four days of wasted time on what should have been a simple delivery, hookup, and haul away. Chris also promised me that his employees would be retrained by asking the necessary questions prior to setting up new appliances. I still have another appliance being delivered and installed, but this one will be done by a third-party company who hopefully knows how to do a job correctly. I guess we'll see how the rest of this horrible experience plays out. read more

I received a rebate in the form of a Lowes e-gift card and when trying to order online, the balance on the gift card was wiped away to zero and the order did not go through. It was supposed to use my credit card for the remaining balance of my purchase, but it did not, and instead took my gift card balance. Ive tried calling numerous times and called different departments and no one has helped me to get my balance put back on my gift card. A case was opened which they never resolved. I can't get anywhere with anyone, only wanted to let people know about the problems with buying items that are supposed to get a rebate. The rebate comes as a e-gift card and the balance disappears when trying to order for online pickup. Bottom line up front, this Lowe's is a great place to stop for the gardening section. The outdoor garden section is well organized and has a large area to walk through to find what you are looking for while maintaining social distancing during COVID. This location is also pet friendly which was a big plus while running errands with the pets. As far as the checkout lines and return line, this location seems under staffed. When I was there, it was two cashiers at checkout in the garden section, one cashier at the checkout inside, and one cashier at the self checkout managing all the kiosks. That would be fine if it wasn't a busier day, but Saturday? I couldn't help to notice everyone's frustration as they waited to check out and the line got longer and longer. I don't think it is entirely the fault of the store as some of the instances was due to customers not having a bar code on the item they were purchasing, but I do think that a more efficient system could be developed for this store. Additionally, I purchased an item that I decided to return immediately after I got to the car because I realized I would not need it, so I went inside to the return section. I waited for 10-15 min before I was finally up with only 3 customers in front of me. When I was returning the item, I was asked "did you use it?" It was a grass seed dispenser.... and I just bought it and walked back in. It seemed a little ridiculous of a question. To make it less better, I was told that it was probably just an impulse buy. No, it wasn't, it was just that I would rather save $18 and do it by hand considering my lawn is small. I bought grass seed/ fertilizer, so it seemed necessary to buy the dispenser. The line also got much longer and again, i over de people's frustration as they tried to maintain social distancing while waiting longer than necessary. Again, I would say that some of this is due to customers not having receipts, not having bar codes, etc, but I believe there could be a more efficient method of getting through the line. Maybe pre screening with another employee and having two lines: one for less complicated returns and one for the returns due to lack of receipt? Just a thought. Even an automated text messaging service that allows for a return check in is a viable solution in the long term (especially because that requires funds and much more planning). Sticking to the bottom line I stated at the beginning, I still believe this to be a great Lowe's to get most of what you need, especially if you aren't needing a ton of help from the sales associates. read more

This is the direct result of in store and delivery personnel's refusal to do their job. Within an hour of the online purchase I contacted the store to reverse doors. When delivery personnel arrived I informed them I contacted customer service to do this prior to delivery. I then stated you need to reverse the doors and leave the handles. They proceed to bring the fridge inside and immediately began to install the handles. They left without completing the job. We proceed to do the reverse & were unable to get the doors on. A waste of a trip. I swear I felt like I was in one of those old commercials where somebody is in this type of place looking for help. I went in there looking for a garage door mounting kit. I went up to two sets of two employees at different times and not one could help. First I went to where the garage door openers went and didn't see nothing. No employees were immediately around the area so after 10/15 minutes of looking for help we decide to go to the other side of the store find my first set of employees that told me they should be where I was at. After I told them I didn't see them they sent me to another aisle to find something else which wasn't there. No "here let me help you" from either of them. So we walk around again through them aisles and we finally see two more employees walking close by talking to each other. So we go up to them and same crap. Except they send me all the way to the other side to find a "rig". Mofos! If I wanted to take extra steps I would have taken my Fitbit! Not one of these people could take a minute to help show me or call someone. I swear I don't think these guys could of been helpful if they tried. Not to be a jerk but they couldn't even give me a correct aisle. The store was light in customers! There was no need for this. I swear if there the Hispanic day laborers were outside I would have paid them to help me. Hell I would of bought them lunch also! All I needed was a mount or bracket. As you can see from the amount of stars for this location. The store has poor customer service. We ordered a fridge from Lowe's that offered a rebate and a ring. The first fridge was broken. Bummer! We had to get another. We were not given any paperwork. It seemed to be an even trade. When we got our working fridge we tried to get our rebate and our ring that was promised. However, when trying to get it we were unable to receive because they said we did not have the paperwork for the new fridge. I found this to be problematic in 2 ways. The first is they did not give me my paperwork needed for the new fridge, they should have know. Worst Lowes we have ever been to. We are in the market for a portable swamp cooler. One was on a shelf above a price that said $299. The other swamp cooler was below it with a price above it saying it was $399. Took pictures of both to send to my husband. He decided on the $299 one. Went to pay for it and the price came up $399. I showed the picture to the cashier and she zoomed in to verify the sticker was for this cooler. It was. She called a manager to override it. We showed the picture to her and right away she started to accuse me of taking the picture of the item over a wrong price to get a discount. Even the cashier was on my side trying to defend me and attempting to explain that I sent the picture to my husband. First off I don't owe this manager any explanation of why I took a picture of said item. I can go on and on about how this person should not be working in customer service, but my rant is long as it is. I haven't even finished with my day's experience at this particular Lowes. So she asked me where did I get this from. Duh...I told her where the swamp coolers are . She came back with a picture of the sign that said $399 and a picture of the other swamp cooler. She states that this is the price of both swamp coolers. So I ask her if I'm hearing correctly. That this one sticker with a item number counts for both swamp coolers. Even though they are completely different. She said yes. She then offered me a 10% discount for my "trouble". Ummmm....NO! She accuses me of doing something wrong and tries to make up for it by giving me a crumb. I would have preferred an apology. Mistakes happen, I get it, but not from this lady. Apparently she knows everything. The cashier was embarrassed and very apologetic. She was awesome and shouldn't have to be apologizing for the incompetence of her coworker. This incident is my main complaint about this store. Also, the place was a mess. Many of the shelves are empty. Shelves that did have stock were messy and unorganized.
