Located right off of Dorchester Rd in a safe part of town, this Lowes is pretty good and actually clean! I have a refrigerator that needed a new water filter. I called around town no one had my model until I found one for $80. I stopped by Lowes and when I had difficulty finding I an employee saw I was struggling. He quickly came over and helped me out. Not only did they carry the make and model it was $30 less than the other place! I've done a lot of projects all over the nation and Lowes is always a good place to utilize for any needs I have. I'm not going to wax poetic like I do in other reviews but end with this Lowes is great for all sorts of reasons. So many things... It's located on a corner of BGMyers Pkwy and 17A. Traffic congestion is nonstop, and the parking situation is fraught with cars speeding, or stopping in front of store for no apparent reason. In store, tried to buy appliances. Poor fella working there said he was due to get off a while back, but his coworkers never showed up for work! He felt obligated to stay, but had a line of people waiting for his assistance. I gave up and left. Purchased a wall unit for hanging brooms and brushes, etc. It broke in a matter of two weeks (photo shows the unit; I'm holding the broken piece). They sell chintzy, flimsy items and charge too much for things that are made to look good, but don't hold up to use. Next time I'll go to Ace Hardware. read more

Just left Lowes in Summerville after getting the worst customer service from "Robert." I went there for a doorbell transformer that stated they have 7 in stock. I found the item number and it was on the shelf but up above in a box. I could clearly see the item numbers matched, the box said transformers, and the cola tags I needed, it's not that hard. He came over and was super dismissive and told me they didn't sell it in store, scanned a completely different box that was empty, not the same model, and not the voltage needed, and said see we don't have it. I tried to explain that's a different model and point to the top and he basically told me I have to buy it offline; that they don't ever sell that model in store. I was so upset that he was literally ignoring everything I said that I said ok and went to Home Depot. I get that he had to drag a ladder over from 5 feet at 7:05 at night but his attitude and inability to listen to me was such a slap in the face. Do better Lowe's, or you'll end up losing all your business to Home Depot. Guess it's time to close my Lowe's card and switch my loyalties since your employees can't be bothered to listen to help.. next time I'll just grab the ladder myself and do it myself. I have been to this store multiple times almost to the point that my whole paycheck goes to their account. I purchased a very nice embroidered US flag that came with a wood pile and a plastic bracket. Finding things around takes time and some of their products are ok, I could not find one with a metal bracket. The last I had was a metal bracket and the wind broke it so this plastic one won't last long. read more

The worst service I have ever experienced! I paid for my refrigerator to be removed because I had purchased a new 1700 dollar refrigerator. The young man got out of the truck and said he is not removing the old refrigerator because of some excuse he made up! They wanted to just drop off a huge refrigerator and not set it up for me! Lowes owns the worse experience for any piece of purchasing of equipment I've ever had. I bought a range and they missed 3 individual drop offs with less than 24hours, one time less than an hour. I wasn't able to make Thanksgiving for mu kids. I had to eat out for almost an entire month. Costing me well over 1000$ and two missed days of work and they offered me 150$ as an apology. A tiny drop in the bucket of what their incompetence hosted me. I used to go to lowes because others don't treat veterans well but it turns out they just have crap customer service for everyone. This is my first choice hardware store. It is unfortunate that I can't seem to get my return processed after three hours on the phone and multiple trips back and forth to the store. I've been passed to the Pro side and back to customer service more times than I care to count. I'm missing my delivery pick up form but it seems that whoever picked up the lumber also doesn't have said paperwork. Rather than at least trying to help with the situation, everyone I've spoken to has washed their hands and not taken ownership. I'm not a Pro buyer but I have spent thousands of dollars in the store over the past six months. I definitely am frustrated with anyone's lack of ownership in even trying to help. Well I Bought a $600 grill that they advertised pre built. Got it home noticed it was scratched up, and the igniter does not work. Pretty much should have expected it. The aisles are wide and labeled well so it's easy to navigate the store. Sometimes it can't be difficult finding an associate on the floor for assistance. I purchased blinds from here and it has been one of the WORST customer service experiences I have ever had in my life. In fact, this is the first time I have ever left a negative online review which goes to show how displeased I am with the experience. It started with the blinds coming over a month late. You know what, no big deal. Things happen. I didn't say a word. Then the installation people come out and don't properly program the remote so one of the blinds wouldn't even open. They told me "just call levolor and they will fix it". This is unacceptable when customers pay for installation. Not only were the installation people not helpful, but 3 of the blinds were either installed at an angle or were defective. I went into lowe's to discuss this and was told i would be contacted by one of the head installers within 24-48 hours. Well 4 days went by and nothing. So I then called Lowe's production company. I was once again passed along and was told a different person would be in touch. A week went by and no calls. So I called back in. Finally I was able to get someone to come back out. The new guy was able to properly program the remote and set up all the blinds to correctly work. He admitted that several of the blinds were angled but said it had nothing to do with installation and must be the blinds themselves. For over $2000 worth of blinds, they shouldn't be crooked, I'm sorry. He did measurements and the one side of the blind was about 2 inches further out than the other. I am not a home improvement person but i know enough and have seen enough blinds to know something is wrong. He told me someone from corporate would reach out in 24-48 hours. Once again, I never received a call and after a week I called the production office back. They called the Lowe's in summerville and spoke to my seller and told me she would be calling the following day. It has now been 5 days and ONCE AGAIN, I have not heard anything. The customer service is absolutely terrible and I will NEVER EVER do another home project with Lowe's again. I am only posting this so others can avoid the hassle. Spend the few extra bucks and go somewhere else. I wish I had read more

I've been a customer of this Lowes for the past 10 years. Customer service can be here and there however, the most recent experience was the worst; not just in the store but in general. A young lady by the name of Bev needs to have way more training in customer service before she represents a company that is used to having a diverse clientele. I had my contractor help me with a purchase and it needed to be returned. There was a language barrier and immediately, her demeanor was awful and we could tell she didn't want to help us. She was condescending and downright rude with my contractor simply because she didn't understand him while he was trying his best to process a transaction. I try not to let one bad apple ruin it for everyone however, the quality of her service, or lack thereof, will prevent me from shopping at this store. She doesn't have true empathy for others who are different than her and her service was bottom of the barrel. If you can't help, get someone who can, but the absolute least you can do it greet with a smile, be respectful and get the proper assistance. read more

This is one of the more helpful Lowes stores I have visited. Staff on hand to help load up vehicle with purchases. Believe me, I've been to Lowes from SC, NC, FL, and GA as needed for whatever the occasion and the customer service has been horrible. I really like the plant selections and if you have a green thumb, there are some plants that can be purchased for cheap then resuscitated. My main visit is for gardening so I cannot speak to any other departments at this time. Convenient Main St location too. read more

I've never had too much of a problem with this location. Sometimes it is a little hard tracking down an employee for assistance but when I do he/she is always helpful. Checking out and returns can also mean a wait is in order. I have to remember though that this is Summerville and the population is booming. (This might be the busiest Lowes I've ever visited in the U.S.) This location is always well stocked which is surprising given how many people visit it. We've bought everything from screws and washers, to plants, and doors (including door installation). I keep meaning to try out the Home Depot across the street, but this location keeps meeting my needs so I don't feel the need to go elsewhere. read more

Picked up my Lowe's porch swing and found out when I tried to assemble it that it is missing 38 pieces of hardware, screws etc. Tried for 40 minutes to reach the Summerville store thru their hostile voice mail prompts. Ashely and 1 other person failed to transfer the call or hung up on me --- called for the 4th time and waded thru prompts and John said he would try to help me. Now have 40 minutes into this mess and no call back. Contacted AMEX to dispute the charge --- now 55 minutes later have to wait 6-8 weeks for resolution. I can always find what I need for my DIY projects at this location. The prices are reasonable and competitive. Like most mega-stores, I get frustrated when I realize I need something from the other side of the store - where I just was. That's my problem - not Lowes'. Sold us a washer and dryer that wasn't in stock without telling us it wasn't available. Promised delivery on Tuesday and didn't deliver. They only sent the components on Wednesday then customer service called to see if we were satisfied with our new washer and dryer. We told them it wasn't received and she looked into it to find out they didn't have it and promised to call us Thursday. Thursday at 6pm I called customer service because we've heard nothing. They were still searching for it. It is now coming from over an hour away on a holiday weekend and they can only deliver it Sunday. The store manager was contacted by customer services but do you think they cared to reach out to the customer? No. Lowe's has lost a loyal customer and I swear I will never make a large purchase from them again. read more

I have been here many times and never once has any employee asked me if they could help me, today I walked the store for the better part of one hour. Not once was I asked if I could be helped, I asked three different employees where I could find an item I was looking for, not one of them offered to show me, they all said go to isle so and so which was no help to me. I came in yesterday to get some paint for my front porch. Bill (who was working in lumber but usually works in the garden center) helped me pick out some sand so that we don't slip on the porch when it's wet. We also spoke about wood since I plan on building a pergola in the future. He gave great recommendations and ideas, helped lift the sand bag and even followed me to my car to put it in. He gave wonderful service, knew a lot and was really kind. Thank you Bill for your great service! read more

In the past few months, we have had a number of issue come up. 1st, we were in the process of new flooring (carpet and wood) for our rental home. We started the process May 27th for July install. I had an uneasy feeling two weeks in (early June). Went into the store and found that someone had totally canceled the order. Got it all straighten out or so we thought. We had to stay on them to make sure the order woul be completed within the July time frame. 2nd, We purchased a Bosch dishwasher for ourselves . We used it once and found that the stainless tub was damaged (not their fault), However, we had purchased a extended warranty. Finally got the new (replacement) dishwasher and started working to get the extended warranty switched from the inital dishwasher, to the new one. Went to the store and was advised that I needed to call their warranty department. Went home and called and was advised that I had to go to the store in person. Went back to store and was told that I needed to call. Explained that I had and was advised that I had to go to the store. They stated that they could not help me and that I would need to come back and see a specific manager. Came back in the next day and was assisted by this manager. While we talked with the manager after issue was resolved. I sat the packet down to pay for the new warranty. Got home and thought that I had left the packet att the store. Went back today and was advised by the two customer service people (without looking around station). Told me that there was nothing they could do. While I was there, the large female CSR did a refund on two perfectly good plants (woman purchased the wrong ones). Nothing was wrong with the plants, but the CSR told the woman that the plants were going to be thrown away. The Woman made a comment that the two plants had nothing wrong with them and wanting to purchase them back She was told no and the girl took them to a garbage can and tossed them in. What a total waste a a bad practice on lowes part. Went back in the afternoon and was actually help when the others would not. Brian looked up both purchased and printed out the two receipts from the initial purchased and new warranty. Lowe's needs to work on CSR attitude and the hands off approach. read more

The Garden Center staff are awesome! "Trip" helped us find the pavers we wanted, remembered that we had called to ask about them, suggested holding them at Garden register while we completed our inside shopping, and helped through checkout by providing sku number to the cashier and even helped load them!
