The store wasn't particularly busy, which made the lack of customer service in the garden center even more noticeable. As a woman shopping alone and looking for lawn-care products, I expected at least one associate to ask if I needed assistance or recommendations. Unfortunately, no one approached me or seemed available to help. I eventually found what I needed on my own. At self-checkout, my military discount also did not apply even though it was in the system. The gentleman working self-checkout was nice enough to review my receipt, but he couldn't explain why the discount wasn't applied and said it happens frequently. If this is a known issue, Lowe's should determine why it is happening and give employees a way to resolve it for customers. I accomplished what I came for, and the store wasn't crowded, but the overall experience was not very customer-focused. A little more employee presence and engagement in the garden center would make a significant difference, especially for customers who may need guidance selecting the right lawn products.
