Stopped in to check it out because there were none in our area. Plenty of parking in the lot. Gigantic store filled with lots of merchandise for multiple seasons and events. Store was clean and organized. It seemed that most of the store was at least 40% off. The employees were friendly and helpful. The lines were moving slow because some of the customers had multiple cards filled. I didn't find anything to buy, lucky for me my wife didn't have the same issue. I popped into Hobby Lobby in hopes of finding a few fun details for my son's Halloween costume. I asked the staff where their Halloween section was. A very annoyed, blonde woman (pushing 70) informed me that they don't carry that sort of thing, because of their Christian values and they consider it "occult-ish". I was slightly taken aback by her attitude. She seemed very unwelcoming and triggered by my question. It was so awkward that I stepped backwards and said "Yeah, I can see that you feel very strongly about this." And she said "Yes. I do." Holy heck. That was so unexpected and hostile. It was incredibly unprofessional. I have never given one star before, but that experience left me with a strong ick. Kindness is key in customer service. Her response made me feel uncomfortable. I will never go back. I just wanted some glitter covered bats... Chill. read more

This is the greatest place on earth. There are always so many workers here to answer your questions, and they physically have everything you need to decorate your house. Christmas is always 50% off and they have every holiday decoration that you can want! The store is always well organized and clean. The only thing I have to complain about the store is at the shopping carts are not big enough for everything I need to buy! I always wind up getting so much stuff every time I go. They keep everything well stocked and each location is set up the same way so you don't get lost when you go to a different store. read more

I took my 5 year old to frame something she painted herself. She really enjoys art and I wanted her to have such a special experience framing something she created. My daughter rang the bell at the framing center that says "please ring the bell" with a smile on her face. She rang it again after nobody appeared equally as happy. The person came out with an annoyed face and told her not to ring it. She rang it again because she didn't understand (she is a child) and the lady snapped at her. I have been a long standing customer and will never return. How disappointing for something that was supposed to be a magical experience. I called for the manager and he was little help. The customer service is awful. I really should be more specific and say the management was awful. They had two registers open when I went to make a return. Each cashier easily had 10 people in their line waiting to return items or check out. What appeared to be the manager and a few other employees stood by the empty unopened registers and talked and laughed about whatever they were discussing. Finally the manager looked over after 5 minutes and decided to call someone to the front to open another register. She then proceeded to sit on a stool and supervise the two cashiers that were working on the line. I'm sick of this new era of managers thinking they're too good enough to help their employees when they're in the weeds. The employee that was called up, hopped on a register and took a handful of people from each line (including me) and we went to go stand in her line. After a little while, she abruptly stopped what she was doing and proceeded to tell me her line was now closed after she finished checking out the person in front of me. So now I had to rejoin the line I was previously in and wait again to return my item. I don't know what gives but there needs to be some serious reconsideration with the way this store is run. It left at least 20 people leaving pissed off. read more

I thought I would take a minute to rate Hobby Lobby in Mount Pleasant. After visiting their many times, I decided to take a job for Christmas. I can say from experience, having stood on both sides of the counter, how wonderful the staff is! What a great group of people to work with! I'm very impressed with the work ethic I have seen modeled. It does take a little longer to get through the lines because we don't use scanners, but we do our best to get you taken care of as quickly as possible with cheerfulness. Hobby Lobby offers great sales and a good selection of home decor, crafts, party supplies, gifts, faux flowers, fabric, seasonal items, plus more all under 1 roof. There will always be disgruntled people in the world that are determined that everything is about them and cannot be satisfied. No one working at Hobby Lobby is perfect, but they really are genuine good people who want to help you find what you're looking for. This store is a nice size with lots of choices in stock. The staff is generally friendly and up beat. However plan to wait in line at the register. They hand key in every price the old fashioned way and that sometimes takes a while. Also bring a bag with you.... I've gotten used to paying 7-12 cents for a plastic bag when I travel to places like Chicago.... Here they charge you 50 cents.... That's crazy!!! read more

This place is very big and has a super comprehensive selection of just about anything you need for any project you may be working on. The staff here is very friendly and polite and helpful and is available to answer all the questions you have and help you find exactly what you are looking for. There seems to be more than enough staff available that they are right there when you need them. This store also has a lot of cool and unique gift items that really stand out and you can check off some of the people on your list that may be a little harder to shop for. Best way to explain Hobby Lobby is Best Buy for the ladies. I stopped in here with a friend and had never heard of Hobby Lobby until they recently moved to town in Mt.P. I was sure that it was a place full of coke-bottle-glasses-wearing folks living in their parents basement's picking up some more glue for their model airplanes. Turns out... I'm dumb. How could a store this size be selling model cars and such, and still be able to keep the lights on? They actually sell all sorts of stuff. Picture the original hobby shop I mentioned. Then add a Michaels, Homegoods, 2 AC Moore's, and a Joann Fabrics. That my friend, is Hobby Lobby. I didn't actually need anything from here at the time of my visit but, it's good to know that if I do need anything... I mean pretty much ANYTHING. It's down the street. The store is new, clean, well organized, and apparently they have a Free App to download which gets you discounts... like, 40% discounts... like, get that shit if you plan on going here... ever. read more

Let's just be honest - Hobby Lobby is the craft store to go to....unless you need a specialty item. I often find myself wandering their aisles for stamps, glass jars, ribbon, wedding items, fabric, picture frames...you name it, they have it. My only complaint is their paper selection. Sure, if you want pre-cut cards or scrapbook paper, they are your go to place. I was on the hunt for some speciality papers, more than just card stock, to make some thank you cards. I was pretty let down when I saw my options. I've also had a hard time finding paint colors and more advance model car kits in the past. Definitely check out their picture frames though - they are always half price and are a great deal! Also, the framing department usually carries pre-cut matting, which is a great money saver if you frame your own work. read more

I have fallen in love with this Home Decor Store. Been in several times now, usually for the fake plants & flowers.. awesome selection, awesome sales & awesome customer service. They are fantastic for Christmas decor with boxes, cards, wraps, tinsel, ornaments. I could go on & on. It's especially nice when they have the 50% off sales. If you have never been expect to spend at least an hour here browsing at all the stuff you like but don't necessarily need. However, when you are basically accosted by the customer service manager and told to form two lines so the line doesn't "appear" longer. We responded with a thank you , it's okay, she snapped again. I said we are waiting our turn and we are the customers, her response was "I'm the customer service manager and this is not how we do it." I went in looking for a frame for a big Beatles poster and found the frame I needed. Proceeded to ask the lady if I could bring in the poster and frame it, she told me they would do it for 2.50 I almost fainted because i had Been to 3 frame shops in mp and was stunned at how much they wanted. So I get the poster bring it in and met Macie, she proceeded to do a fantastic job with a smile that was contagious I really enjoyed watching and talking with her. This review is about the high caliber of employees working at this Mt. Pleasant Hobby Lobby. Approximately During the second week of November 2016 around 7:30 pm, my elderly mother and I went inside the store to purchase a soap making kit. My mother became over heated and sick. Several employees, including the assistant manager, came to assist and provide a wheel chair. All employees acted genuinely concerned and helpful. They never acted inconvenienced or "grossed out". I think the employees at this store convinced me this is one of the best shops in Mt. Pleasant. Thank you Hobby Lobby associates in Mt. This is a really great store if you are into arts and crafts. They have a huge selection of items for just about anything that a person could dream up. I really like the selection of Jersey display cases. Prices seem fairly reasonable and there are plenty of clearance items to browse through. I appreciate Hobby Lobby as a business, but don't enjoy shopping at the Mt. Pleasant store. I was checking out today and had about 20 items, way too many to carry in my arms. The cashier rang them up and set them on the end of the counter and made no move to bag them nor ask me if I wanted a bag. I paid for my items and waited a few seconds for her to bag them. She just starred at me like I was dumb, so I reached over to the bags and she swatted at my hand and said, we don't give away bags, we sell them. OK, that's a dumb policy, but couldn't she have asked me if I wanted a bag when she was ringing up my purchase? Obviously I can't carry all of these items. I think Mt. Pleasant's ban on plastic bags is ridiculous, but every other retailer has an alternative bag. The bigger issue those was the way the cashier handled it. I have never felt so unwelcome in a store in my life. I kindly asked an associate where I could find something and her response was "I don't know what that is maybe you can find it over there somewhere", soon after I had another associate give me the same type of response after asking if they had more of a particular product. I was inconveniencing them for simply asking a question. I don't know who does the training in the store, but their customer service is terrible. I will not support this store ever again. read more

Such a wide selection of items! Love that they are closed on sunday and strong supporters of Christianity. I love coming here and just browsing through all of the neat items they have and home Decore. The prices are very fair, but some of the stuff is cheap and breaks. Also, they have a great frame shop. I have gotten two frames done here and they both came out fabulously. The customer service in the checkout is usually average or sometimes below average, but people are usually helpful when you need to find something and the folks in the frame shop are geat. I go to this hobby lobby often and make many purchases. Today my phone died and my car broke down after shopping there. I went back in and asked one of the employees if they could help me. I was told we aren't allowed to have cellphones so sorry I can't help you, and that was it. She didn't offer to let me use their phone or ask any of her co workers if they had a phone. She didn't care that I was stuck there with no way to contact anyone and a broken down car. I can't believe how rude and inconsiderate this person was. I walked over to Harris teeter for help instead and someone there was nice enough to help me. Makes me never want to spend money here again. read more

Please note that while I have been a consistent shopper at Hobby Lobby...I will not be going in there again as well as advising all my friends and family as to what happened !! I went there yesterday evening and bought a gift, gift bag, tissue and ribbon for a gift I needed to go to the restaurant next door to the Mt. Pleasant store. After my purchase, I requested if someone had a pair of scissors to do TWO SNIPS of the ribbon so I could package the gift. I asked at the register and while the cashier did not have any she called a manager who went to see if there were any at other registers...came back to say." NO scissors here" She suggested the fabric dept. I said "been there.waited for 3 minutes no clerk",.she VERY COOLY said, well she was just not at the desk...I thought "well, obviously .....customer service isn't what it used to be...it got so WORSE !!! I got to the clerk who REFUSED to cut my ribbon. SAID IT WAS FORBIDDEN...SHE CAN CUT MY FABRIC BUT NOT 2 SNIPS OF MY RIBBON ?? sent a note of complaint to the website and the replies were worse than that...lots of "i am so sorry" which did no good...never said it was the store policy... I stopped by this location the other day to see if I could exchange some ornaments I bought at the Rivers Ave location for another size. I didn't have my receipt, which I realize means this was going to be more difficult than if I had it. I'm second in line at the returns/exchanges line and the couple in front of me have a rather straight forward return, three calls to a manager later and three times asking how the customer's Christmas was and they were on their way. They were polite, but clearly annoyed. My turn! I started by saying I'm sorry I've misplaced my receipt, but... I stopped speaking when the cashier actually "tsked" me like I'm a small child being scolded. I just stared at her for a minute. I explain I just want to exchange them, but she interrupted me again to call the manager. The manager, Diane, comes over and just starts barking everything Christmas is 80% off over and over. I read the return policy and understood the position I was in. I know I'm going to pay more for what I want. I finally had to raise my voice to say I didn't care about the money I just wanted to see if they have the size I needed. The cashier says to find something the exact same price as what I'm returning and I realized trying to explain again was a lost cause. Of course they didn't have what I need so I just went back to the register to grab the ornaments I came in with. The cashier told me to have a good day. I should have told her what she could do. First, if you can't work that register without calling for a manager repeatedly, go stock a shelf or something. Second, how dare you berate me for not having my receipt. I realize it makes the transaction more difficult, but I wasn't being difficult. And Diane, how about you actually listen to what a customer is saying before you dismiss them so quickly?
