The organization and cleanliness of this store is downright impressive. However... the customer service is lacking (we were there for 45 mins and no one on staff interacted with us ‍), and the prices are too high. There's excellent potential here, but I'd highly recommend not charging 2/3 the cost of what something would be new . Even if it means taking less inventory... I'd encourage y'all to price more realistically for secondhand. Hoping the constructive criticism serves to help your business in the future! read more

While this is one of the smaller locations of Once Upon A Child, they have quite a selection. They are very well organized and everything is clearly marked. The staff is polite and very helpful with any questions. They don't have a lot of actual items (strollers, pack n play, seats, etc- the North Chs location has a lot, if you're looking) but the clothing and toy selection is large. With my daughter growing like crazy and having to buy her new sizes all the time, I love being able to find gently used clothes at a reasonable price. read more

I have been to Once Upon A Child many times in the last 2 years. I find the store well organized and can usually find what I'm looking for as they have a large selection of clothing and toys. The clothes are clean and in good condition. The staff is friendly and helpful. Sometimes the prices on items are a bit higher than others but that is usually for designer labels. I find the value of the clothing is really good. I enjoy my shopping experience there. I don't bring any clothing in to sell because I'm the Gram who buys and sends the clothes to my grandbabies! read more

System went down after shopping with a 2 month old baby (which is not an easy feat) and the situation was poorly handled by staff. The cashier with the lady bug tattoo on her hand was rather rude and short. Cindy who called me back after holding my things for me was the only one who had any idea how to handle anything. Thank goodness for her she was very sweet. If it weren't for the rude cashier and system shutting down (which I know was no ones fault) I would have probably had a better experience. read more

Imagine being a dad just going in there to run an errand for your wife not knowing the process and getting attitude from the staff every step of the way. Then getting told what a "return" meant. Could have done without the patronizing experience. Hope ya'll have a better day but avoid this place like the plague. read more

It's been a while since I have dropped off something here. They have a new system & it makes selling items much faster. They have seem to have gotten rid of all the unhappy employees who used to work here, which makes the environment much more enjoyable. The girls who work here are friendly & helpful. They explain reasoning to what they are able to take & not take. I don't think you truly get the amount of money you could for your items, but it's better than nothing. I drop my stuff here, and whatever they don't buy, I take to an orphan relief drop off. I will return with more items to consign! read more

This is my second time selling here, and I have to say both times have been a great experience. All of the ladies working are super friendly and helpful. The store is very clean and organized, really easy to find stuff if your looking to buy and the prices are great. Don't waste your time! We brought in baby items to sell and was told to wait 20 minutes while they looked at everything. Then we were told it would take longer and to come back later. Then we were told they already had too much inventory of our baby gear, so we made a second trip to retrieve our items. We then found multiple buyers for our very good condition items, but realized they were now missing parts! When we notified Once Upon a Child that they failed to repack all the parts, they couldn't find the missing items. We were told the parts were probably mixed into things already donated to charity. This business made no attempt to apologize or compensate us for our now unusable baby gear. Not cool OUC, we will take our business elsewhere. read more

I've been there twice. The second time it was close to closing and the staff was very kind and didn't make us feel rushed. I really appreciate that. I also appreciate the extra care the manager took with answering my questions about an item. She took time to give me info and put batteries in it to show how it worked and wasn't miffed or anything when I decided to go with a different item. She also helped me redeem a credit I had towards my purchase. I haven't tried to sell items to the store so I can't review that aspect of the business. Over all I couldn't have asked for more. Was turned totally off by the sad North Charleston location. I was in West Ashley this past week so thought I'd give this one a try. The young people up front were peasant but there was just a persistent bad odor in the place. Had to leave without purchasing. Maybe clean it! read more

This store has rejected brand new clothing because it looked too worn. The clothes were brand new from children's place, and my son never had the chance to wear them. Also, refused a nearly new crib bedding set because it was being sold without a bumper. New AAP guidelines state that bumpers should not be used. Owner stated that "we only buy crib bedding with bumpers because they don't sell well without" this was after the super sweet employee explained the new guidelines over the phone. I will NEVER buy or sell to them again. Especially after my comment questioning their buying practices on their facebook was deleted after they responded in a way that came off as rude. read more

This store has been a staple in our lives for the past 4 years. With two young girls, they grow so incredibly fast to buy every piece of clothing new. Out of desperation of waiting until the last minute, I took my two there at 7 pm on a Thursday evening. It took me about 25 minutes to locate close to 30 items for my little ones. The clothes were neatly merchandised by color and size, and all seemed to be in great condition, for secondhand. It was apparent that since they changed locations, the associates had really taken pride in organizing it; it was So much better to shop than in times past. At the register, Kenisha was extremely patient (my two girls are rowdy at bedtime), and rang it all up in a timely fashion. I thought I was already at the 20% off reward threshold, but I was a little short. The store manager, Victoria, was happy to discount my entire bill anyway. I am so very appreciative, because I came in the store expecting to get the discount, and even when I was just a little under, she honored it. I hope they know this goes a long way with me. Their display of customer service earned them a loyal customer, and also recommendations to my mother/friends. Thanks so much! read more

Having just moved to South Carolina where these stores are very spread apart compared to where we use to live, when you are traveling 1+ hours to get to a store to sell items you don't expect to be treated like your items are worthless. For example the experience I've had at other OUAC stores. This west Ashley store was a pleasant experience as both a seller and buyer. The girls that worked there were very very helpful (we had ALOT to sell) and they didn't look at us like really?! Instead they were very welcoming and very pleasant. They didn't do the usual thanks but no thanks conversation once being told the total and being pregnant myself they were actually very patient while i slowly lugged everything to and from the store. No i didn't expect help because I'm capable but it was nice not to feel rushed. This is a further store than another one i am nearer too but i will definitely return here once i accumulate enough stuff to warrant a trip this far! Definitely recommend this store read more
