Oh boy- this is serious trouble for the grandparents who love to over indulge and spoil their grandbabies! And baby is right! John and I have a 2 1/2 year old grandson and a new granddaughter on the way! Due very soon. I found the magnetic pajamas and was determined to pick one out- that took easily 20 minutes. Then we were off exploring more of the store- the cashier might have nudged us to go upstairs!. This shop has three floors with stairs or an elevator to continue the shopping experience! We picked out a toy four our 1 year old niece and a couple more goodies for the grandbabies and I told him we had to check out before we broke the triple digit threshold- because that's easy to do. Under the Almond Trees is one of the best kid's stores. There are so many fun and unique items. You can even buy strollers and car seats here. The staff is very friendly. There is nearby street and garage parking. If you have young kids or know someone with young kids, check this place out. It is worth stopping here. read more

I was really impressed with the customer service, look and cleanliness of this store! Came to purchase a car seat and the manager was extremely helpful. We were able to test the weight out of different seats and practice attaching the seats to the bases. They even have a parking spot in the back to test if you like the car seat in your car. The customer service made a difficult decision much easier and I'm very thankful for that! Would highly recommend! read more

Under the Almond Trees is a shop for all baby and child needs. From clothes to toys to strollers and accessories- they have something for all children and parents. The location is on King Street and is three stories high. It is easy to become overwhelmed with all the items but everything is neatly organized. They have a large selection of hair bows and clothes, strollers of all kinds and brands, baby sunglasses, and books/puzzles/and craft gifts. They tend to carry more expensive, high quality brands that tend to be more expensive. read more

Cute store-adorable merchandise. The toilet is too cute-push something and it becomes a child size seat, etc. Major service flaw though-we entered the store. The sales girl was on the phone and did not acknowledge us-not even with a smile. Always acknowledge the customer In front of you/no matter what! I would have been a first time customer, yet did not purchase. I even used the cute restroom, and she was still on the phone when i left. I'm giving four stars because the customer service is lacking with two employees. My friend got shushed because she thought something I said was funny. I didn't understand why because we were the ONLY people in the store and the two sales clerks were just standing there talking to each other. They also didn't even acknowledge us as we walked in or ask if we needed any help. Anyway we walked next store to where all the accessories were and I bought lots of things that I had been eyeing on Amazon! I was very happy to find another baby store besides Baby Bloomers here in Charleston. The Sales clerk in the second store was so pleasant which was refreshing since the other two were very snobby. Two years ago, as I was pregnant and anxiously awaiting the arrival of my daughter, I was obsessed with researching what to register for and buy for my daughter. I walked in Under the Almond Trees while visiting Charleston a couple weeks ago, and my jaw dropped to the floor. This store felt like the culmination of my many months of baby gear research. So many of the brands - Little Unicorn, Copper Pearl, WubbaNub, Owlet, Halo, DockATot, Nuna, etc. - were companies that I had drooled over online but never had the opportunity to see in person (where I live in Pittsburgh). Some items I took the risk and purchased sight unseen online while other items I chose not to buy. However, this store pulls together all of the up and coming, trendy, well-reviewed brands for an easy one-stop-shop experience. If I have another child, I hope to have the opportunity to return to Under the Almond Trees to do some major shopping! read more
