I ordered online- this is not a total reflection on the store on King Street so ill say that First! The online WEST ELM has terrible customer service. I ordered over 10k in outdoor furniture and it came without all the cushions. Im not a happy customer. I called them and they told me someone would be getting back to me. I have not received a call back or an email in 24 days. I still dont have my cushions. read more

west elm on King Street in Charleston is a great place to go for all things quality and unique furniture and home items. I really like the selection of different items that they have available here. This store is beautiful with a vast array of beautiful home decor for every room in the house. It's a chain and belongs to the Pottery Barn family. Great to come in here & actually look and feel the products that are on line or in the magazines that come through the mail. They have awesome rugs & furniture and you get to choose what fabrics you want on the furniture. I loved it in here, such cool chandeliers and other light fixtures hanging on the walls. They have cool little accents that you can add or buy as gifts for friends & family. I'll definitely return here & will watch out for the sales. I bet great deals can be had. The staff were great without being intrusive. Just the way I like it. This store is also right on King St not too far from Halls. read more

I spent over $2500 on two orders from West Elm. I received a defective play kitchen which took over 2 months to get a replacement. I ordered 1 bookcase and 2 kids book cases and paid for white glove delivery. The bookcase was marked delivered but it was never deliver. The smaller kids bookcases were delivered and were both damaged. The shipping boxes were destroyed. I tried to return them and I still haven't received replacements. I still don't know where the other bookcase is. Their customer service awful. I've been hung up on, I've been put on hold and left there for an hour and then I gave up. There is no way to talk to a manager and every agent tells me a different story. They are happy to take your money but then you never get your product. read more

I have never been disappointed either for myself and my husband or for gift giving. I am a huge fan of West Elm - we recently stopped in to check out a bedroom set before ordering it online. I have one HUGE complaint. The entire time we were in the store, actively looking at furniture, NOT ONE employee came to say hi, offered help with any items, or tried to sell me on the set. We walked in, spent 30 minutes in the store, and walked out without anyone saying one peep. That being said, they occasionally have items in the store for cheaper than the website (and you get to leave with them, so yay!). I will make a point to walk in here when we are in the area because I love almost everything they sell, but Im not sure I expect anyone to assist me, which would have been useful when we were getting ready to order furniture. read more

After noticing the West Elm logo on the flatware at a local restaurant, I was thrilled to spot the store on King. Great quality eating utensils with unique finishes. Little did I know, this store has a whole lot of everything for the home. From sofas to decor to beds /bedding and everything in between. This retail shop is but a fraction of all West Elm has to offer, but it's being able to sit on/touch/feel their products that makes me fall in love with the brand. Sales staff is not only knowledgeable about the in-store products, but also about all shapes and sizes available online. oh West Elm how I love you. Seriously no one loves West elm more then me. our entire bedroom is west elm, along with pottery barn. anyway I love to go into west elm anytime we go somewhere new. the stores are always so nicely decorated/pretty. this store was personally prettier then the one by us! much nicer sales people too. I'm very jealous. anyway we didn't buy anything since we already have most of what they sell already, it was cool to see some of the lighting we've never seen in person. I only wish we saw the new ombre light I want for our kitchen, I'm hoping to see it in a store sometime before we buy it. btw anyone debating on shopping here, do it! every time I look at our furniture or our bed I just fall in love with West elm all over again. read more

We have bought a couch, coffee table, chest, dinning room table and pendulum lights from here. I think it's safe to say we like their products! Quality pieces that don't look like the same old stuff you see in most home decorating stores. The prices are fair considering the products. They have a lot of material options. They display area is a little small but if you see something you like but want a different color or style, just ask. The light we liked was displayed with a gold cord and we wanted brushed nickel. They ordered it from their other store, simple as that! They carry living room, dinning room, bedroom items as well as decorations. One of my favorite pieces we bought was a coffee table that has storage inside. One half of it lifts up for a convenient working table or if you want to dine while you watch television. Customer service is excellent. They always greet me at the door and are very willing to help. read more

West elm is a chain; a very elegant chain with trendy home decor. But still just a chain. I have been to the West Elm in Kuwait (a small country in the Middle East) and it looks just the same as the store in Charleston, SC. Something about that doesn't sit right with me. All of their items are great quality but I don't want the same lamp as my neighbour. read more

West Elm is a fantastic addition to King Street. They are a home decor chain with items for every room of the house. They have everything from large tables and chairs to bar accessories and trinkets. I visited when they had just decorated for Christmas and everything was beautiful! The sales staff was so friendly, too. If you're ever on Upper King, definitely stop by West Elm! read more

I am only giving this store 3 stars because I love West Elm and order online quite a bit. My husband and I needed to go to the store to see lighting fixtures in person before ordering online. We would have probably bought them at the store but not one employee said anything to us or asked if we needed assistance the entire time we were in the store. The worst experience ever. Ordered a sofa back in September and should have been delivered mid December. Contacted them on the due date in December and they said right after Christmas. Contacted them after Christmas and they said mid January. Contacted mid January and they said February. Contacted them and the sofa was to be delivered February 9th. Took off work, no delivery. What a nightmare. Cancelled the order and will NEVER shop here again. I don't recommend this company to anyone. read more

I looked on line at three different rugs but decided to visit the West Elm store in Charleston, SC. My third choice in rugs I bought with the help of Erica Stine. I wanted a light grey master bedroom rug. The carved hand loomed shine rug in silver was light beige. The radiating ovals wool rug, platinum was beautiful but not soft to walk on. I ended up buying the Winter Branches rug in feather grey which is light grey and very silky. The store has great coffee tables, curtains and rugs. read more
