Title: Respectful but Incompetent -- A Disappointing Installation Experience initiated with the purchase of appliances at the Palm Coast Fl Lowes. I recently purchased a washer, dryer, stove, and microwave from my local Lowe's. The initial transaction was smooth -- the appliances were delivered and installed within a few days. That's where the good part ends. The washer and dryer were installed in reverse order, with the dryer on the wrong side due to the door orientation. The dryer door is reversible, but no one took the time to do it. As a result, the vent hose was sharply bent -- a clear fire hazard and a recipe for lint buildup. I contacted Lowe's and a service appointment was scheduled to correct the issue. I specifically asked that the technician call me beforehand so I could explain the complexity of reversing the dryer door. No one called. No one showed up. This happened not once, but twice they never showed up or called. It became clear the delivery team wasn't trained for anything beyond basic hookups. I could have reversed the door myself, but I paid for installation -- and doing it myself could have voided the warranty. Ironically, the person who came to replace a damaged microwave (also part of the original order) was a contracted mechanic. Dryer installs weren't his job, but I paid him cash to reverse the door while he was there. It wasn't a simple task, but he got it done. When Lowe's called to confirm a third service appointment, I told them it was no longer needed. I had already moved the appliances myself and paid out-of-pocket to fix what should have been done right the first time. They offered to reimburse me for the extra installation cost for my inconvenience which I expected regardless. I then asked for an additional $100 credit to account for all of the inconvenience, missed appointments, and wasted time. I was told the best they could do was $50. I accepted it, but not without frustration. I also suggested to the store staff that they ask customers about dryer door orientation at the time of sale -- a simple step that could prevent this issue entirely. Their response? Blank stares and indifferent expressions. Bottom line: I chose Lowe's over Home Depot for what I hoped would be better service. That decision has been thoroughly invalidated. The experience was respectful in tone, but operationally incompetent. A $50 credit doesn't come close to making up for the hassle. read more

We are a local plumbing contractor. I came to Lowe's today to purchase two biscuit colored toilets. All the ones on the floor are gone I could not get anyone to help me get Toilets down after asking for help. I stood around for 15 minutes and no one came. I called the front desk and let it ring for 5 to 7 minutes and no one answered . I don't actually have enough stock on the floor . Very poor customer service at the store yet there were multiple employees perhaps six or seven walking around appearing not to be doing anything. Trying to buy backsplash tile. The store in Saint Augustine said they have 14 boxes in stock in actuality. They didn't have any boxes in stock. The sales person there said he would check other stores and sent me up to the Jacksonville store which had 50 boxes in stock. They didn't double check for me. I guess I should've done that as well. But the Jacksonville store had zero boxes in stock. Lowe's has no idea of how to inventory their products. Terrible customer service at least they could've compensated me for my gas and my time. But no, they refused to do that, our company spends thousands of dollars at the store per month. We will be looking into other construction supply stores. read more

My husband and I went to the Palm Coast Lowes instead of the one in Palaka Fl. We went to buy a 11 ft. Patio umbrella. Did not see anybody in the area, so went to customer service to see if they could get someone to help us. Nobody came. We asked some of the employees if they could help. Not their department. Finally Sa Quin walked by and said he could help. It wasn't his department but he helped alot. The manager of that dept. wouldn't even help. Wayne. Sa Quin even helped us put it in our suv. This is the second time this has happened. I ordered something this local store didn't have in stock. The order was placed to have this shipped from the warehouse to the Palm Coast store for me to pickup. For the next month I see "delayed, but will still be shipped." After a month I call and they say the order was unilaterally cancelled, even though they still sell the item, with the same item number, but at a higher price. It worries me that slowed has decided to completely cut off customer interaction at the check out line. Today we were ushered through to the self "checkout" lines. For the older generation scanning there own items, paying for their items through a machine is so impersonal. I Wish LOWES would have done some market research on how this was going to affect all age demographics. To stay ahead of this may I suggest you have a greeter at the front door advising older folks that your transitioning to a new and improved checkout processes. That you'll have someone walk them through it when they are ready to pay. May I also suggest that you have your friendliest and most patient tellers be at the self check out kiosks. That way they can ask how the person is paying before they start scanning items on the CC only kiosk. Someone that knows how to smile and can change the computer to accept a card payment. I ordered a new front door in October. The front door had marks and was damaged. The installation job was awful. The door doesn't properly open and is ruining our hardwood floors. After HOURS of being on the phone and months later the new door was "scheduled" for reinstall May 12th. I called to verify someone would be coming. My husband and I took off work. No one showed up. Had Lowes install two decks on my house for $7000. Both had pressure treated frames with a brand of plastic wood for the service. Six months later, the surface was bowing downward on both decks enough to puddle water. After contacting Lowe's, having 5 months of lip service, nothing has been done to repair the decks. Purchased washing machine at Lowes on 3/22 . Unfortunately I was asked what time I would like delivery and was given a few time frames. I chose 8-Noon on 3/25. Found out today from Paul, Lowes Dept. Manager, I should never have been asked. Was also told by a Appliance sales person today that the delivery service is a 3rd party and Lowes has no control. Paul again said this information is incorrect. Sounds like the Appliance Dept. needs a training refresher. I received an email confirmation of this delivery date and time. However when Noon passed, I called Lowes Appliances and was told truck was probably delayed by the 3rd person I communicated with in Appliances. He obviously was wrong too. I called Jacksonville to the dept that handles routing and delivery. I was told that I was 15th on the list and my washer would not be delivered until late in the day. Meanwhile, I got the runaround from a lot of people I spoke to on the phone in Lowes and in the Jacksonville dept. 2 disconnects, 2 sales people who gave me incorrect information, 1 person told me just to re-schedule. The only person I spoke with during my many phone calls today who has any initiative is Carlos in Jacksonville. He said he would escalate my issue. I can't believe I am the only person this has happened to. Not quite sure why Lowes cannot follow a schedule that has been communicated to the customer. Horrible customer service in garden department. Well one person in particular his name is pete I believe he is the manager of that department. I went there for an interview and he basically was ass. Guess they hired there quota for the day. So he just needed to Treat people Ike crap.so glad I wasted 4 hours of my day watching a movie w the 25 other people. Before covid. He told me if I wanted to work in garden department I would have to lift 50pds of mulch all day. Well I have been there several times since then and I don't think the elderly ladies that were at the registers were lifting anything. He just plan didn't like me. They delivered damaged drywall, some damaged cabinets and after more than 30 phone calls and multiple emails, I have not heard back from them. They didn't even deliver all the cabinets... We were in this store looking to order a washer and dryer set expecting to hear all sets were backordered and to our surprise the set we were interested was in stock and could be delivered in two days! Five stars for the staff at the Palm Coast store. We go home and I pull out both the washer and dryer to make the delivery even easier for Lowes, which also allowed me to clean a little before the new units went in. Unfortunately this is where the pleasant experience ended. We were originally expecting to leave the area the morning that these units were to be delivered, but we decided to adjust all of our plans to accommodate this delivery. As scheduled, we receive a call right at the start of our 9:30-12:30 delivery window that the truck is 15 minutes away. The driver arrives to our door empty handed and begins to tell me his truck is completely loaded and he isn't sure he has room for our haul aways(we paid extra to have our old units hauled away). I pointed out that you will be taking two units off the truck before these old units go on, so you will not be adding to your load. He left and came back about 15 minutes later again empty handed saying he only has 45 minutes for each delivery and he is running out of time. I pointed out that I had pulled the old units out which will make his job easier and I will help in any way I can. We can even leave the old units on the loading dock until they can come back later to pick them up, but we need this done today as we are now scheduled to leave this afternoon and cannot reschedule. He leaves again and returns about 15 minutes later empty handed again to tell us they are leaving and that we will need to call Lowes to work this out. How does this happen? I then spend the next seven hours trying to reach anyone at Lowes to find out they are having phone issues. I finally reach the manager at the Palm Cost location, very nice gentleman. He tries to help to no avail and asks that I call the Jacksonville distribution facility as this is who is delivering the new units. I call this location and sit on hold for 30 minutes to then be auto transferred to the Orlando location. The lady that answers the phones feels like she will bend over backwards for me, but in the end can do nothing because the delivery was out of Jacksonville so she works to get me ahold of Jacksonville. Another hour plus passes and I finally get a call back from the Jacksonville location with two options, I can reschedule my plans again and they will try again to deliver later in the week, but cannot return today or they can cancel my order. Unfortunately we can carried out a few parts from the local store so I mentioned I needed to return to the store to return those parts. Once I get to the store I find out the store cannot process the return of anything that was going to be delivered and that I should have let them process the cancel on the phone call(no one mentioned any of this to me on the call). Now I get to sit in the returns area at the store while they try to figure this out, again trying their best to help me(the team at the Palm Coast store again was great) but letting me know that this is a systems thing with Lowes and they simply can't cancel the order. They need to send an email to the Jacksonville team and Jacksonville should process the cancellation the following day and send notice to the email on file. Well, two days later and still no notification. This has honestly been the absolute worst delivery experience I have ever been part of. Every aspect beyond the initial order has been a disaster. Simply be aware that if you are ordering anything in this area to be delivered you may want to look elsewhere to a company that has a better control of their delivery ecosystem as it is apparent that Lowes does not. The companies they contract with for deliveries simply do not care. Again, five stars for the local store, zero stars for the delivery team out of Jacksonville. read more

I have always loved shopping at our Palm Coast, FL Lowe's because their staff members are so helpful and nice to deal with. In May 2020, when I went to get my online order (using Lowe's great curbside pick up) of a boxed garden cart and a 96-gallon trash can, Cole was the Exceptional employee who wrestled my order! I was relieved when I saw he had a mask on, as I did. He tried everything he could think of to fit that huge trash can in my car. I was the one who finally gave up and said I'd return, once I asked my neighbor with a truck for help. Cole arranged everything to keep my item safe on hold until I could return. Purchased appliances from the very first experience everything went wrong. The order was deleted had to return to have items added back. We scheduled delivery and installation of the microwave. When the installers showed up to install microwave it was done incorrectly and they broke the microwave I know have 2 extra holes in my cabinet. Lowe's ordered a new one immediately and scheduled the install for Friday and they never showed up so I had to go get the microwave and install myself. The store refunded me the install fee and gave me a credit of $500 everything was fixed and fine. Then the delivery of the other 3 appliances was scheduled between 12-2 Lowe's shows up at 10:30 am I told them I am 15 mins down the road I ll be right there they told me they couldn't wait any longer. They said we can put in your garage since you have a keypad. I was not comfortable with that idea. I was told that if I don't then they were leaving with the items I paid for. They forced me to give them my security code to my house. They left the items in my garage in the process they broke my sons fishing poles and damaged the fridge. I have received payment for the broken fishing poles just today. However Lowe's is playing games and does not want to work out a reasonable deal. They offered to refund the price of the fridge but then they said that was meant for another customer and should never have been offered to me. At this point they should refund the entire transaction. My home and privacy was violated by Lowe's in palm coast Florida. Do not do business with Lowe's in palm coast. read more

Your buy 1 item recieve one item free seems like a good idea, until you try to find the free item its no where to be found. The sign above registers says if more than 3 in line will open a register . there was 6 of us. and after 10 minutes I went to customer to ask if another register could be opened. finally was after another 5 minutes. I have not shopped for window blinds for a few years, and I was shocked to discover, that in order to get a plantation blind cut to size at Lowes, you have to buy Levolor blinds. Seems Lowes has this little business relationship with Levolor, wherein Levolor places their cutting machine in Lowes, which conveniently only cuts Levolor brand blinds. I have nothing against Levolor blinds, as far as quality. But, with a cost of approximately 30% to 40% more than other blinds on the shelf, the additional cost can not be justified in certain applications, i.e. a washroom. It just pisses me off that I'm forced to buy a higher end product, when there are more economical choices on the shelf. Furthermore, I guess since Levolor has a captive audience, they don't feel it necessary to include 7 cents worth of sheetrock plugs for installation. I'm not an attorney, but this sure smells like some sort of collusion to me. read more

It is now may and I have still not received three of my appliances. I designed my kitchen around these appliances specifically so what do I do with half a set? My propane permit is about to run out and Ill have to get another one. I spoke to three different people today and all three gave me a different timeline for when Ill actually receive my appliances. We bought a nexgrill from Home Depot in June of 2019 and the stainless steel is rusted like crazy. We contacted Loews and they pawned us off to deal with the manufacturer direct. Basically the mfr of nexgrill told us tough crap. You have what you have. We hardly use the grill and it is under cover out of the elements on our lanai. Needless to say we are very upset. Anyone that we entertain have told us that our grill looks like crap and we agree. Ergo we are totally unsatisfied with Home Depot and the Manufacturer Nextgrill.
