Let's say you're interested in getting a cabinet to add in your kitchen... If you deal with the Lowe's home improvement store in Mt. Pleasant, SC, you can expect all of the same things that I have experienced: Visit 1- I provided all of the product specs, and just needed to place the order. The person in the cabinet department had an appointment showing up, so we agreed to complete my order by phone, after the appointment. They never called back. Visit 2- I found the same person at the store the next day, but she said she's not really supposed to be there, it's her day off. She copied the info that she printed out for me on Visit 1, and did not call back in the next two days. Visit 3- Talked to another cabinet department associate, who informed me that no information had been entered with my name, number, or cabinet order. I start from scratch, to stop just short of ordering, for another couple who had an appointment. Called to make an appointment, phone rang until they hung up/ended call. This happened 3x in a row. It seems that one's determination to find exactly what they want is inversely proportional to the number of helpful associates. If you don't know EXACTLY what you're looking for and where to find it then your hopes are just dangling in the wind because you are your own shopping expert here. The absolute indifference I get in return for a detailed question about where I could find an item is very frustrating. But it's not universal. I'd say that for every 10 times I ask someone about an item I might get 3 positive, or at least confident responses. And 1 of those 3 might even lead me to where I'll find the item. Customer service is down everywhere, but human decency, caring about one's job and their customers seems to be a third of those positive responses. I'd love to see this place really have some internal training about how to treat customers as "valued" and how to carry out a transaction to a positive conclusion. I'm not trying to build a new Statue of Liberty, but by the looks on the faces and the heavy sighs I get are really a put off. read more

This store has the absolute worst customer service. Over the years we have done thousands and thousands of dollars in business with Lowe's in Mount Pleasant, SC. That is over. When I checked out today I was not awarded the 5% discount at the self checkout (wrong credit card), which typically is the only place to check out at this store. So, I went to Customer Service where I was told they will correct this only one time, don't ever come back with this issue again. I am going to do them one better, I will never come back to their store period. Home Depot is now our home improvement destination. Home Depot trains their employees to respect customers and are very helpful when asked to locate merchandise. read more

It was quite hard to find someone to help me make a copy of a key. I saw the sign and waddled over to find the machine. At first it looked like a self service but I quickly realized I needed someone. I walked around a bit and didnt see anyone with a vest. I finally found Ed who was already swamped with work, seeing his large cart full of go-backs I assume. He was incredibly kind, immediately was able to help me. This man deserves a raise. read more

So I was in this lowes on 3/16/23. I had been previously dealing with Kobalt about getting a replacement on a tool that broke. When I went into the store I went straight to the tool section. In the tool section I was greeted my the assistant store manager Scott. I ended getting back on the phone with Kobalt, He spoke with the rep and everything ended up getting handled within an hour and the tool was replaced with ease. Every time I go hear I leave frustrated. I'll give an example: Lowes has an app and a website. You can go on that app and search for the thing you want, and it'll give you an aisle and bin number so that you don't have to wander around looking for what you want. Except the stuff never is where it says it's going to be. So, you say, maybe don't use the newfangled technology and ask a customer service rep instead. Indeed! So I did that, and it seems to me only one guy there, Walker, knows where everything is. The rest of the folks just wander around and then when you ask a question, they pick up the walkie talkie and ask walker. And then you have to wait for Walker to get done to come help you. Last time I went to Lowe's I went to buy three things, and it took me more than a half hour to call on Walker three times because none of the stuff was where it was supposed to be. This should have been a 5 minute trip. Another time I asked for a piece of lumber to be cut, and I was told to wait and they'd call someone from lumber. I waited for 10 minutes for someone from lumber to tell me they no longer use there saw because of covid(?!). There's a nice Home Depot about 5 minutes north. Spare yourself this nonsense and head there. Their saws have apparently been vaccinated and work fine. read more

Except when she stopped in the middle of my check out to "discuss" break-times with 4 of her co-workers standing around. I like Lowes! I especially like shopping here for vegetable plants, or colorful annuals, and all gardening supplies. They keep the plants well stocked and are always helpful if you have questions or need help. I find the customer service acceptable in most departments, though sometimes you may have to search one out. We shop here for all our home needs, basic paint, electrical needs, plumbing, summer furniture and more. They even have a vast assortment of major appliances as we have purchased many over the years like refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and more. The selection is good with reliable name brands and lots of models to choose from. The prices are competitive and they offer home delivery. I appreciate having Lowes in Mt. Pleasant and find it gets busy at times but if you shop early or late it can be easy enough. read more

We were in Mt P and were shopping for a new washing machine. They had what we wanted, so we bought it. This was Saturday. They said it would be delivered Sunday. We waited all day, nothing. Not even a call. We finally got through after several times of trying because either they hang up or the phone rings forever. They wound up sourcing it out to another store and someone bought it. So finally they delivered it on Wednesday. again after they said Tuesday at that point. I told the girl in delivery I wanted some kind of compensation for my time. She said call her after it's delivered and she'll credit 10% back. Guess what, couldn't reach her. I will never shop there again. read more

After recently having a larger project of putting a new floor down in my bathroom I can say that the staff were more than helpful in getting me everything I needed to get the job done. This store is ridiculous with the sheer amount of badly trained, ill-fitting employees. Every SINGLE time I call the store to ask them a question (while trying to pick up/order materials as I am a co-owner of a small handyman service) no one can ever answer my question correctly. For instance I just 2 days ago called the Mount Pleasant store (not the N. Mount Pleasant store, which ALSO is badly staffed and also terribly stocked) and asked if they cut blinds or not for free and the girl on the phone was like "yeah we cut them for free, no worries!" I get there today to buy the blinds for my client who has a price list because that's what I was TRYING to do-get pricing, and I TRY to always go straight to the horse's mouth. So, I get there only to find out that the blind cutting machine is actually broken and then to add insult to injury, they don't cut just any blinds that they sell in their stores- they only cut (Levolor blinds-which happened to be the most expensive brand. Pretty SLIMEY of Lowe's stores to ONLY cut the MOST EXPENSIVE brand of mini blinds in their stores. Why don't they just ONLY sell Levelor? If they're going to rape my clients (and almost all of their other shoppers, I'm sure) why don't they take away all other options? Also, WHY don't they more effectively, and THOUROUGHLY train & educate their employees so that they can avoid having people like me rip them new ones on the internet and EVERYWHERE else I have an avenue to speak up about this BS. For the first time in 30 years I am not near a Home Depot. Being new to Mt Pleasant I was surprised that HD was not close at all. I have bought online and in store from this location. The online experience with a store pick up was a nightmare. What should have been a quick 10 minutes in and out took almost 45 minutes. They couldn't find my order then had trouble ringing it up. I also ordered a washer and dryer online from them to include delivery and install. That too was a nightmare with their delivery company have some sort of invoice issue. My delivery was scheduled in the AM but I didn't actually get my items till the evening. Their big tickets items prices are inline with HD. What I noted years ago is for the smaller items they are not competitive. I will still shop at Lowe's but truly looking forward to a HD opening in Mt Pleasant. read more

Worst customer service in town. Only few of their staff is nice and helpful. Most of them have no clue of what they are doing, they are rude and they try to avoid you when you need help. Especially at the electric saw that is always down, and they just don't care if you need your wood to be cut now. Also, You're in luck if you happened to deal with the only nice and smiley cashier they have in house. I know staffing is an issue here. But I rather drive to north charleston to another hardware store (home depot not to name it) , at least they hire professionals. I can't wait to have another home depot here in MT P. read more

We have shopped at the Lowes in Towne Center for years, purchasing appliances, doors, ceiling fans, flooring, lighting, tools, and smaller items too numerous to mention. The customer service has always been poor with a few exceptions, but lately it seems to have gotten even worse. Since there is a new Home Depot virtually down the block , similar products, similar pricing, and employees that are friendly and helpful, we no longer have any reason to shop at Lowes. Lowes is one of my favorite places to shop. I automatically go to the garden section first. I'm the back they have all the discount plants. You can then enter the store through the side door. The store is huge and laid out well. There are a few things I want to complain about: the signs for the aisles are confusing. The have one sign per aisle, but the item you're looking for can be on the aisle before or the aisle after. You kind of have to take a gamble. I also feel like there is never anyone on the floor to help. I walk around aimlessly looking for a worker to help me. I usually walk 7 aisle away until I find someone. And sometimes they're not usually in that department so they are unsure on how to answer your questions. There is also not enough registers. People buy tons of things at Lowes and the lines are always so long! read more
