Awful customer service. We ordered handles and knobs for our cabinets. They were crooked, misshapen and incorrectly sized. The owners then suggested we drop them off and pick up new products. Sadly they had already been drilled into the cabinets. I asked them to pick up the faulty pulls and replace but Rob has not responded. I ordered the same handles directly from manufacturer to be delivered right to our door for 1/3 the price. We want to support local businesses but unfortunately they did not answer the phone to respond to our complaint. read more

What an amazing store!!! I came in with my aunt and uncle to meet the owners/browse and was taken back by the organization, professionalism, variety, and quality of the business and the staff. The owners Christina and Rob, as well as Andy, do a great job explaining all the intricacies of what they do and are not pushy at all. With so much to pick from, they patiently work with each customer and meet their needs. They have third party employees who come and assist with installation. Moreover, they explain the costs which you pay and they are great prices. They have the standard stuff you can find anywhere, all the way to the top brands like Rocky Mountain. This is what small town American business is all about and if you want to support your local shop and be happy about it, Foxworth is your place! There new location is across the street from the Okra Grill and there is parking behind the shop(don't park in the Okra Grill parking lot). read more

We needed a replacement for a front door handle that had become worn through 20 years of sea air. I saw the ad for Foxworth's, and gave them a call. Andy was our contact, and he asked us to send a photo and the dimensions of our previous door handle to see if he could find a match. He emailed me the next day with what he thought was a good one, and asked me to look at the door plate to see what the old brand had been. Sure enough - - perfect match. We asked him to do a 2nd day delivery on the item, received it immediately and my husband installed it. Going over to Foxworth's tomorrow to have the lock rekeyed for our current keys. In today's times, customer service that is beyond excellent is hard to come by. When our front door lock/handle/pull that we'd purchased two years earlier started to pit, we called Foxworth and sent some photos. They were appalled and immediately contacted the account rep and within two weeks the entire assembly, inside and out, was replaced and installed at no charge. I went in to try to find a match to an antique dresser pull I had. I walked in and no employees were in sight yet I could hear them in their offices in the back. I browsed around trying to find a match and heard a funny noise coming from the corner. I looked over and they had a dog laying there that was growling at me. Now, I'm a dog lover, but I was not comfortable going anywhere near the hardware pieces in a 10' radius around that dog, not to mention the owner was nowhere in site or clearly going to do anything about it. Just a little tip: do not have a store dog if they aren't friendly... FINALLY, an employee came out and I asked him for help, not the other way around. Anyway, he proceeded to tell me I was never going to find a match and that I should just buy 8 new pieces of hardware and give up on my search. Now, I would have believed him if we didn't already find the exact piece we needed online. I'm just extremely annoyed with their customer service and the fact that all he wanted to do was sell me 8 new pieces of hardware instead of helping me find the one I wanted. read more

I purchased a condo this year on Daniel Island as a vacation home. Being that I am in the construction industry in Columbia SC, I set my sights on remodeling my new place from top to bottom. I work hard to have nice things and wanted to have some really nice high end hardware on all of my cabinets. I found Foxworth Decorative Hardware on Mount Pleasant and instantly fell in love with all the selections they had to choose from. I spent a nice chunk of change in this place. Some of my knobs/pulls were $40 a piece! For any of you that have selected and paid for hardware, that is not cheap! After receiving all of my hardware, my cabinet guy came to town and did a few things for me, one of which included installing all of my new hardware. Everything looked great with the exception of the most expensive pieces I ordered. None of these particular knobs/pulls would tighten down and some of the screws would not even fit! My trim carpenter didn't come with much more than a screw driver for this particular visit so I told him to just leave them and I would contact Foxworth and see what needed to be done. I immediately sent an email to my sales contact Andy and he responded telling me that it could be a number of reasons such as; screws being too long and may need to be cut, may need washers behind the screw itself or it may not be tapped enough for the screw to completely thread. He suggested I bring them in for him to take a look at and offered to take care of it or replace them. All is good, right? NO! I went to their store today when I got in town and was treated incredibly bad! Not one person there offered to help remedy the problem! Instead they insisted that my trim guy could have just cut the screw. Okay, so maybe he could have, but he didn't! So I am here now and asked if they could help, after all I did purchase it from them and paid $40 a piece for them! The two males working there (I won't call them men because it was clear that they were not) spoke back and forth to one another asking if the other wanted to cut them. They one male that I assume was maybe the owner looked disgusted that he actually had to get up out of his chair to come talk to me! At this point I was in dis belief that he or anyone else in customer service would act like such in front of a customer. Anyway, he got up and walked over and said "your trim guy could have cut the screws". I explained to him that my trim guy nor myself lived here and didn't have the tools to do that at the time. He went on to say that we could have gone and bought a hack saw to do it. I'm thinking to myself.....really? Can't you just cut them for me so I can be on my way?!! I explained to him again, that neither of us had that and could he just cut them since he had the ability to do so? The other male took one of the pulls and went to start working on it, in the meantime this same guy I have been trying to talk to (owner I think) continued to tell me that my trim guy should do that! Finally I asked him if this was the way they normally handled their customer service? He replied, no we offer great customer service! I believe at this point my mouth may have already hit the floor and he continued saying "the point is, your trim guy should have done that". By this time I had enough! I finally gave him a piece of my mind! He walked backed to where they had taken my hardware to work on and told them not to fix it and gave it back to me! I can tell you at this point, my thoughts of this individual began pouring out of my mouth! I couldn't believe that someone in this business, heck any business in sales would act this way! I have been in this industry for over 20 years and trust me, all of that could have been avoided by them just cutting the screw or giving me the correct size! So, although this store may have beautiful items, be cautious. They treat you like gold when you are giving them money but don't go back and expect anything you "should" have gotten if you run across problems with your purchase! The TRUE colors come flooding out when that happens! I have learned that there are so many other hardware stores all around Charleston from talking to many people about this incident. So for all of you looking for great hardware with a company to back the product you purchase, steer clear of this place!! read more
