I spent over an hour trying to simply talk to someone on the phone about getting plywood purchased and cut. I was put on hold multiple times and it became clear I was not going to get to talk to someone who could help me. The last time I called, I asked the representative to please not transfer me until there was someone on the other end and she assured me she wouldn't. However, I ended up on an endless hold again. Unfortunately, it seems I would need to drive to Lowe's to get what I needed and even then I'm not sure it would have proved effective. I ended up calling Home Depot and it was an opposite experience. I know who will likely be getting my business in the future. read more

Lowe's has been my hardware store of choice for many years and will continue to be, I suspect, for many more years to come. This is my newest main location. The entrance is conveniently placed a short distance off Marsha Sharp. The floor staff is usually very helpful. There's a great employee working the hardware aisle and the key machine. Cashiers seem like they could care less. Every hardware store seems to have its own lineup of heavy duty storage totes. The ones with the yellow lids. Lowe's is where I get mine. If you get them from different stores, they won't stack neatly. Beyond that, it's your usual hardware and home improvement store. read more

We went to Lowes to order a generator for our house. We went into the store to customer service to get assistance and talk to someone about them since they are not stocked in stores. The young lady told my husband he would have to go home and order it online. He ask if she could help him and she ask if he knew which one he wanted and he told her he thought so. Again, she told him he would have to go home and order it himself. The lady working beside her told her to call someone and she did (finally). A young man named Jordan came up front to talk to us and offered to order the one my husband wanted and have it sent to the store for us to pick up. Not only that, he had two more sales associates follow him so he could teach them how to special order for a customer. This young man was so kind and courteous and helped us get what we wanted. He knows what customer service really is. I wish I had gotten the young lady's name at the customer service desk because she really doesn't need to be working there. She doesn't know the first thing about customer service! I wanted to give Jordan a 10 on the Lowes survey but I didn't have the code I needed to do the survey. I don't know who Jordan's boss is but I hope he reads this and gives that young man a raise. He deserves it!! read more

I recently moved to Lubbock and where I lived previously Lowe's was much further away than Home Depot, so by default I always shopped at HD. However, after visiting this store I am forever converted. We decided to build a fireplace surround in our home and after being very unimpressed with the selection at Home Depot we came to Lowe's and we're very impressed! I feel the store is better stocked, the selection is substantially greater in every department, and the staff is so nice. For example, if you are in Home Depot during the last hour they are open they come on the intercom every 10 minutes reminding you when they close. We were in Lowe's about 45 minutes before they closed and a kind employee asked if we needed help and I explained we were just finishing up and then would get out of the store before they closed and she said "oh, don't worry about that- take your time to make sure you get everything you need". What a culture difference! I told my husband I thought we should shop at Lowe's going forward and that I didn't want to give Home Depot our business anymore after that experience. Also, last evening after 3 hard-working 12 hour project days I was loading up on the last of the materials we needed. I was by myself so that my husband could continue working while I got supplies. I rang out with Kelly at the register and she was so nice and asked if I needed someone to help load the 15 heavy cement pavers and Harris backed I had. I told her that would be great but I knew it was close to the end of the night so if no one was available I understood. I waited for a few minutes and didn't see anyone come out so just decided to head out and start loading .to my surprise when I got out to my truck Kelly and another employee, Edward, had chased me down across the parking lot to help me load the truck. I was exhausted and broken at this point in the day and this small act of kindness literally made my weekend. They were so nice and friendly while helping me load everything in a fraction of the time it would've taken me to do it myself. Don't try to online order for store pickup here. I ordered 4 items. 24 hours later I get a call that one item is out of stock so they'll just cancel that from my order (no ask of if I'd rather swap a replacement product into the order). But ok, that happens. On the phone I'm told "the rest of your items are ready for pickup though". I get to the store. First problem is the pickup area - it's weirdly divided, there's one tiny section that appears to be for pickup but it's not manned, and the pickup items aren't stored nearby. Then there is general customer service. There's probably 15 people standing around. Sales associates look miserable and they keep trying to page people and get customers help. They then can't find my order. So they grab 1 of the 4 original items I'm supposed be picking up and say "this is all we have in stock". I'm sorry but I just spent an hour driving and waiting in line to not get the items I ordered and was told were ready for pickup? Gross incompetence. I then call asking for a store manager and get a snippy "this is the weekend, they don't work weekends." Cause that makes sense. No management on the busiest days of the week. Go anywhere else if you value your time. I don't understand stores offering pickup if they can't deliver. I'll always excuse an item being out of stock here or there but to tell a customer their order is ready and waste their time is unforgivable. This place is a shit show. read more

The worst managed Lowes's I have ever been to. No one will help you, no one answers the phone in the department they are supposed to be in. Customer service just says no one is there right now. Paid for fridge delivery in apartment but movers refused to take it up one flight of stairs. When I scheduled the delivery and listed address as an apartment there was no mention of the possibility that the delivery could not be completed because of stairs. Instead the "professional" movers suggested I "grab a couple of friends" to move it upstairs. This issue was continued with the situation of moving my current fridge out as they refuse to take it unless it is on the first floor. No type of reimbursement was provided for the incomplete delivery despite me paying a full delivery charge when originally purchased. Talked to customer support and they were rude, dismissive, and took zero responsibility for this situation. Not only will I not recommend Lowe's delivery but I will encourage others to stay away from it due to their lack of transparency and professionalism. Overall I am very dissatisfied with the result of the delivery as I'm left to figure out how to solve this issue on my own. read more

I recently decided to make a large purchase, a zero-turn mower, so I did some research and found that Lowe's carried a highly rated mower at a decent price. Their website said that I would have to wait two weeks to pick up an order placed online, so I tried to call and talk to someone, but the phone system regularly hangs up while on hold. I went in to the store, was told that they had them in crates in the back and that assembly could be done on Monday so I could pick it up after work. I called Monday and after talking to three different people, someone agreed to check my order and call me back. They didn't call. I called again and a manager finally agreed to check on my order and eventually told me I could pick it up. When I arrived and they found the mower I thought they were trying to give me a used machine - it was dirty and the owner's manual (and warranty documents) were a soggy, pulpy mess in an opened bag. The two young men who were tasked with loading the mower on my trailer refused to listen to me when I asked them to put it in neutral and instead just forced it to roll. I will never buy another big ticket item from Lowe's. read more

Let me tell you how Lowe's Home Improvement Center Lubbock does business: I went in and bought a $600 dryer for my 94 yr old grandfather. Once dryer finally got delivered it didn't work. It would run but not heat so I read the manual. According to the manual it means there is something wrong with the breaker box. So he called an electrician....due to covid it took over a month to get one here. Electrician said nothing is wrong with it, it's the dryer. On Monday i called Lowe's. Store associate said we have a 10 day policy too bad so sad. I'm now 'Karen' mode so I asked for the manager. Waited on hold for 27 minutes and was disconnected. I didn't call back because i needed to calm down. Called again today.....was on hold 18 minutes without anyone answering and called back a few 4 more times. Someone finally answered and I told her I needed to speak to a manager. She said they were all busy but she would try to help. So I told her the situation. She said too bad so sad It's corporate policy you have 10 days. Yes thank you I heard that.. I would like to speak to the manager! Boom manager is now on the phone. Manager said that's our policy on clearance items. I said it WAS NOT a clearance item and then she said it's 30 days. Great...educate your employees because i wss told 10 days twice. Great...please look up when I bought it. I can't m'am I don't have that capability. I said what do u mean you don't...they looked up something the other day using my phone number. Manager: i can't do that..its not possible. (practically yelling) After a few minutes of her bs she asked for my# and looks it up. Me ready to come unglued said ...you just argued with me for 5 minutes that you didn't have the capability for that. She says i didn't know I could. I bought it on March 27th....over 30 days ..sorry about me! By this point we are both sick of each other and she refuses to give me her name and hangs up on me. But I'm no quitter.....so I call back to get her name. It's Linda!!! So if you want to shop at a place where the rules are different according to whom you ask and they could care less about how they speak to you or lie to you, then yes shop at Lowe's.....but I'm out! The young management at Lowe's in Lubbock do not believe that the customer is king and I really do not know who trained them but I hope it wasn't a bunch of woke democrats....I was shopping for an item that was supposed to be 159 instead of 299. I asked about it and they basically told me that it is not this item even so it had the same isle location than the display (display above 159, item directly below 299). Indirectly they told me that I'm an idiot and that I do not understand. My 5 stars are for the guy, Tay Watson, that had to come back out to fix my new refrigerator which the previous two people didn't do their job. I'd give them NO stars. I've called several times to talk to the manager, but you can NEVER get through to him. Hope he reads this. After the first two people came out to install the fridge, I didn't notice until the next day that the freezer and fridge doors would not close properly. So I called today and asked the delivery people could send someone out to correct it. And that guy was TAY WATSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He took the time to go out of his way to come by and fix it. If you do home improvement projects then you've been subjected to the self check-out lines that Lowe's competitor uses. These things are evil and just frustrate you. With that said, Lowe's only has actual people checking you out. It's fantastic! Every department is very well stocked and the people who work here actually seem to know what they are talking about. As far as I can tell, the prices are about the same as others around town and since they continue to help me they have earned a loyal customer. read more

Rudest customer service person in blinds I ever dealt with.(Gabby) I drove to Amarillo to pick up the 1 out of the 3 blinds Lubbock store couldn't get. Amarillo cutting machine down so brought to Lubbock. Waited 10 minutes before I found someone to call someone to cut. Gabby was called.Gabby was rude, condescending and hateful. She acted like I was wasting HER time. The second she walked up it was obvious she was mad about something. No greeting, no how can I help you?, Seemed totally ticked off to be at work. She put blinds in machine and I asked If it cut right through the box. She pulled it out-totally pissed off and said this can't be cut. I asked why the 2 previous sales people told me they could be cut. She in a round about way suggested I was lying. I guess thats why I wasted my time and money to drive to Amarillo. Not really happy with big box stores altogether, whether it be Lowes, Home Depot or even WalMart. Seems like when they first open up, Oh! they are so and helpful, but once they get established your on your own. Lowes employees see you coming for help and all of a sudden they pick up their phone and walk the other way. I've received more help from other customers than store employees. This doesn't just happen in Lubbock it is like this around the country. My Lowes store in Flint, Mi. where I used to go is the same way. The customer service is poor. If you go needing assistance and/or questions answered, be prepared to spend a couple hours waiting. Last week, for instance, I stood at back counter waiting for a sales associate almost 45 minutes. Several times, I called the store from my mobile to be transferred to the department, hoping someone would answer the phone, see me and finally help. The phone remained unanswered every call. Unfortunately, this is familiar territory when shopping here. Waiting for customer service, whether to ask questions, retrieve product or check out. I ordered a Garage Door, online. Drove 40 miles to pick it up for the store. Arrived and parked, they brought it out in the box. I seen the box had a hole in the side. I looked in and could see the door panel's were bent. I told the Lowe's employee this wasn't acceptable. He said he would see if there was another one, and of course that was the last one. I refused it. I asked about a refund, I had payed for it online. Or at least something showing a refund. He told me it would take five day's or so, before it would be refunded. I try very hard to be extra understanding of retail situations because I've got many years under my belt doing that kind of work. And what I know, and what this Lowes needs to learn, is that it's important to "touch" every customer, and at least give them the opportunity to open a dialogue. If you ignore your customers, you ignore the people who enable you to have that job in the first place. Once, I went to this location on a Monday morning when the parking lot was pretty bare. In fact, it seemed like the associates outnumbered the customers. I walked into their outdoor area where there were a good dozen people working to set up Christmas stuff. I looked around, fairly discouraged because I couldn't find what I was looking for, and not a single associate addressed me. I went home with about half of the items I was looking for, then ordered the rest off Amazon. In addition to the lack of customer care, their carts and flatbeds are in appalling shape. Several times now, I've gotten carts with flat tires, which completely bites when you have a load of stuff. Today's visit, I didn't notice until I'd loaded up my flatbed with bricks that it had a bum wheel. To call moving that load up to the register "interesting" would be an understatement. Another gentleman got a flatbed that was completely missing a wheel, and he left empty-handed. Word to the wise, Lowes. If people can't get service, and if they can't move their purchases, they're not going to want to shop there. With so many online shopping options these days, stores need to remember that their livelihoods depend on getting people in the doors and keeping them there long enough to make their purchases. read more

Unbelievable. Ordered 1,000 worth of appliances- washer and dryer. Scheduled to arrive and be installed last Friday. Spoke with Clint- delivery manager, then Victor, then Renee- even though I had shared with Victor that we could not receive appliances until after 3:30pm on Wednesday. Was contacted twice to say that 'delivery was delayed" It took ME calling them on TUESDAY to schedule- even though the appliances had arrived in the store. Victor told me- sorry we make deliveries and are already overbooked til after 5p. Keep in mind- I was scheduled for Friday last week. Today-Wednesday Renee- delivery- tells me "we stop working at 3p" calls to tell me they are "on their way at 1:30p". Then Renee decides take his phone offline. No answer- at main store- rang about 100x- not kidding. NICE... good luck on that payment from me Lowes. Employees need to know definitions (and management) of customer service. The installer Lowe's sent promised 2 discounts and told us where to go in Lowe's to order the shutters we selected. He gave us a price. We followed the instructions but we went in to the store to make the order and pay, the Lowe's employees told we were at the wrong desk and they knew nothing about the matter. Finally, after a long wait and three supervisors later they printed out the order. They gave only one discount and refused to give the second discount that had been promised. I will NEVER try to use Lubbock Lowes for home improvements again. We got Lowes to come give us a quote for windows and doors. They sent Jamie. He came down, measured, etc. He sent a contractor to come out a week later after I contacted him asking what the status was. Contractor came out, did his thing. I told Jamie we wanted to go forward July 28th. He told me he ordered on Fridays. Well Friday came, didn't hear from him. I contacted him again, and he said sorry he has been busy, we will order the following Friday. Once again, don't hear from him. August 14th, I contact him AGAIN, says he is calling me to order as soon as he gets to the store. To this day, have not heard a word from him, been 5 weeks now. Who knows how much business has been lost because of the way business is handled. I finally called Lowes out of Midland. Jerry came in 2 days, ordered my windows and doors 2 days after that. DO not rely on Lowes installers from Lubbock. read more

I've read alot of negative reviews about this place. I've worked here before, a good 6 months, and can honestly, based on experience, tell everyone it's exactly as most reviews say. The chain of command is a complete mess, no leadership training is offered on dealing with individuals needs or employees concerns. A very physically demanding job with no proper warmup or stretching. Most times employees here show up for their next checks and have no energy to care about customer needs. It seems the literal torture coming from untrained and, quite frankly, uneducated higher ups has taken its toll on their people. It's one thing I always said when I was there "you gotta learn to take care of your folks." Unfortunately this culture is coming from the top and the store manager Jeff, whom I've spoken to multiple times about, is contributing significantly to an awful atmosphere at Lowes. Whatever happened to good reliable leadership? Lowes have been going downhill and I've heard it from several of my co-workers who put in YEARS working here and saw significant downtrends in almost all areas. I never bothered to open up a 401k after researching the place because of the heavy debt Lowes is currently operating under. The lubbock Lowes #0271 is, if anyone is aware, the most profitable in West Texas and East NM by way of the lumber department which, if anyone knows how fast lubbock is growing, is an obvious consequence. Same thing with other hardware stores in town. What I'm saying is outside the lumber departments' profitability, the store is losing money, and also becoming highly demanding to their workers especially and customer service is becoming worse and worse. The issue with getting anyone on the phone was a big one! Believe me the managers are not at all busy with anything! With most hold times going on and on over 30 minutes then being abruptly disconnected. This was always the case with me personally and can tell you to have to call back and have your problem restarted from scratch by a different person is very frustrating and a huge waste of time! I did my part when I was there... tried to get team huddles, stretching circles, and brought a positive attitude to my fellow co-workers and lo it was not enough from one man. So I watched the dread, physical debilitations, and negative attitudes grow worse. Hopefully I enlightened anyone looking to do business, or worse, dedicate their time to being employed with Lowes because the place definitely needs a massive overhaul of leadership and logistics. read more

As a veteran, I tend to give my business to those who honor our service with either donations to veteran causes or offer veterans discounts. Today, I visited my local Lowe's and decided to use my veterans discount, which I had pre-registered for recently in the store. This was a lengthy process after standing in line for over half an hour at customer service/returns. The cashier took my phone number and entered it into the register which showed my name and registration information on the screen. After she cleared it through her front line manager she proceeded to check me out. I paid for the purchase and she handed me the receipt. But when I checked the receipt, there was no discount. Only a note advising to "update your military status before Sept 1, 2020". I went to customer service and was advised to call the 1800 customer support number, which was closed. I had to demand to see the manager and explain to him that Lowes was committing fraud against Veterans by offering a discount that did not exist when they checked out. His excuse was the store no longer handled the Veywrans discount program and it was handled completely at the corporate level. If you are a veteran I would be aware of the discount policy at Lowes. I informed the manager that they should just not offer a discount program rather than be dishonest with the practice. The manager finally offered the discount in the form of a refund but I explained they should be ashamed if they are offering a Vetrams discount in a fraudulent manner. To me, if you offer a discount, honor it and make it simple. If the state of Texas is willing to put a Veteran statis on my DL then that should be sufficient to receive the discount. If not, do away with it! read more

We went in to purchase a dishwasher. Granted it was on a Sunday; but still, you should be able to at least buy something. The girl that helped us in the appliance center was very sweet, but she encountered all kinds of road blocks. First, one of her computers was down, so she could only help one person at a time. Once we got her help (30 minutes later), she rang up the wrong dishwasher through no fault of her own. She called her manager no less than 4 times (different methods and different managers) for an override. After another 30 minutes of waiting on the manager, my husband went to customer service to ask for a manager. The manager on duty followed my husband back to the appliance desk, but on the way, he had to stop and talk to his friend about his working hours (5 minutes). We ended up canceling our purchase all together. It would have been easier had we just ordered it online. Does Lowe's just not care? That's what it seemed like. I would hate to work there as the management staff doesn't care about their employees *or* customers. That makes for a very hostile working environment. I'm so glad there are other places in Lubbock to shop. read more

This one is one of the better Lowe's stores. They give you no problem in returning anything. This includes things other stores will give you problems with. I would take this store with me to San Antonio, but unfortunately I know have to deal with these stores in SA and won't get this great service anymore. read more
