I went into the store today and bought some screws for some furniture. I'm making while installing the screws. Two of the heads snapped off now I'm stuck with wood and is virtually useless that are spent countless hours and doing. Bottom line as I called the store and discussed it with a manager, "James" I expressed how pissed I was normally I do not buy my stuff from Lowe's. I go to Home Depot and James is the reason why I go to Home Depot. I do not need somebody treating me this way talking to me like I'm stupid telling me to go out to Johnson's lumber and ask them for help instead of his dumb ass manning up and seeing if he can help. I don't go to places because of the product they sell. I go for the staff and how they can be of assistance. read more

I recommend this Lowes location. Friendly staff, quick curbside service. Interior installation services: service scheduling was painless and timely. We had an issue with above stove microwave. Exterior installation, I suggest looking elsewhere. Zero contact from Lowe's or assigned contractor once we prepaid and you have to pay entire amount. read more

When I was here visiting a friend he asked me if I could help him with changing door locks. We stopped here and I liked how this store is layed out. Very easy to find what your looking for. Today, May 18th, I called Lowe's south cedar street, where I had purchased a storm/screen door on April 25th. I have yet to have the door installed. The person that spoke to me from Lowe's did nothing to help all he did was transfer me to their contractor, that did not answer their phone. They already have canceled installation twice. My perception is that because I am an old disabled veteran, that I have nothing else to do but wait here at home. I paid for the product at Lowe's, yet they offer no help. Our installation was fantastic (Beau). Our flooring guys at the store were great (Alex, Ty, Andrew and a manager Jordan). All fantastic! Would be five stars if not for the fact that it was supposed to take 10 days to come in and took a little over a month. Apparently the order was shipped back or not shipped at all (depending on who you talk to). Finally Jordan got it sorted and we got it in a few days after much calling and being disconnected or no calling back. The flooring department was fantastic the installation was beyond fantastic, the customer service and lack of communication was atrocious!!! And whatever goes on with the warehouse is RIDICULOUS! I would recommend for the install, the great guys in flooring and Jordan. Other than that if you have over a month to waste go ahead, you just need a TON of patience. Not the stores fault Lowe's as an overall company is ONE STAR. And better training for customer service! read more

Managers Alex and Cory took good care of my wife and I. ordered a zero turn and my wife ordered a washer/dryer from Lowes. There was some minor issues in the delivery. My Wife and I are updating our Condo in East Lansing. We wanted to get new appliances and needed to replace the cabinets. Matt Nelson helped my wife handle both purchases and was helpful and knowledgeable each time. His level of personalized customer service was evident when he fulfilled his commitment to get our cabinets delivered by yesterday, by end of day. It took an extra effort for him to deliver on his commitment and he did. We greatly appreciate his help. He has solidified my preference for Lowe's because his level of customer service reminded me of the way my Dad ran the home improvement and hardware departments in his Sears Stores. (And he's rolling over in his grave about Sears now!) I saw that Lowe's is reducing it's workforce by 2400, probably due to low sales. I'm a Lowe's fan! I like this place much more than Menards, the store is set up better and their prices are usually lower. Bigger selection as well. I've personally never had any issues with the staff as they are knowledgeable, always friendly, willing to help with any questions and they'll even load up your items for you when you leave. read more

This Lowe's store is wonderful, but especially Matt Nelson in the kitchen design and appliance dept. He is knowledgable, polite, and goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. I only go to this store because of Matt!! Even tho he is in Kitchen Design, he will walk you to exact right aisle and show you anything else you might have asked about. I urge military veterans to avoid the Lowe's in Michigan, especially South Cedar location. I just had a horrendous experience with a manager there. I am a veteran of Viet Nam. Recently, Lowe's began a policy that it will give a 10% discount to veterans; however, it only gives it if the veteran has it on the driver's license. However, many, if not most, veterans got their driver's license before the recent Michigan law that allows it to show "veteran". I tried to show her my dog tags, but she became argumentative and confrontational. I lost my cool. (It reminded me of the disrespect shown Viet Nam vets.) When I tried to point it out to the manager, she discounted my comments. She was rude and condescending. I am very active in veterans groups and will tell them of the discourtesy. I usually do not lose my cool, but she was disrespectful of me as a customer as well as a veteran. Although the floor staff are great there as I have been a regular customer, I will go to Home Depot or Menard's first in the future. read more

Where to start? So many issues within the last few weeks. I have spent over $8,000 plus at Lowe's in the past year. The cabinetry department is not very knowledgeable. They take hours to look up product numbers manually to place orders. Then, when they try placing the order, the system won't let them order a product that is not in stock at their D.C. Location. Oh, and the cabinets I was ordering is a new product line that they don't keep enough stock. The cabinetry department doesn't even offer alternatives. I had to search the missing cabinets online and drive out to Ann Arbor and pickup the two cabinets needed. Then, they were out of stock of end caps for the counter I ordered. They didn't have them in stock and the lady wouldn't offer any alternatives. I then got online and ordered from Battle Creek location to pickup. Then, finally they said they would have them shipped to the Lansing location for free. Why didn't the cabinetry lady offer that to begin with? My cabinets, dishwasher and other products were supposed to deliver on a specific day. They never showed up or called. I then called and they could not explain why they missed the delivery. Then, they said they didn't have all the product. So, I had to go into the store and check off each product to see if they had it to deliver the next day. Apparently they could not find the dishwasher. Then, they said they found it. The next day, they delivered the product and brought the wrong dishwasher and no dishwasher was delivered. Also, some of the cabinets were damaged in the delivery truck or at the store. No refunds were offered. I had to go into Lowe's to let them know they never delivered the dishwasher but they said it was. I said, no it wasn't. They finally found the delivery slip showing they didn't deliver it. It said they still had 2 in stock but could not find any in the store. Then, the manager offered to give me the better model at the same price. Then, they didn't have that in stock either so they refunded my money and I had to go to Home Depot to get a different dishwasher. Then, today I call at 12:15 pm to ask if my flooring and end caps are in. They said, no it should be on the truck tomorrow. Then, I get a call back 1:15 pm today and they left a voicemail that the flooring and end caps are in and ready to be picked up. I got to the store tonight at 7:30 pm and they couldn't find the end caps or flooring which should have been ready at the front of the store. Then, they finally found the flooring and took awhile to bring to the front of the store. Finally, they found the end caps in the front of the store. An hour or so later, I left the store picking up product that was supposedly ready. Let's hope that my appliances come in soon so I can have my kitchen back. I haven't decided if I will shop at Lowe's after this project is complete. I'm very disappointed with some of their customer service and how alternatives are handled. read more

My problem with Lowes goes far beyond their 'ignore the consumer at all cost" in-house store wide training program. I have found it's easiest just to go to Menards where the people are friendly, helpful, and they don't scatter like roaches when the light comes on (as Lowes people do when you need help). My big problem is when my Mom spent over $8500 on replacement windows and a sliding door, and was completely taken advantage of. The home windows she purchased were improperly installed and still leak air and water to this day. 2 Johns work at Lowes and both lied back and forth through the entire process of her home window purchase. The window installer did a shady job at best, and said he would be back to finish it. 8 calls to Lowes later, they 'found' someone else to come out. He explained all the windows were replaced wrong. Lowes will do nothing but put Mom on hold. She is out a lot of money, her windows leak, the replacement door, fortunately is between 2 inside rooms... because that was installed 4 inches to high. I do not believe in posting bad reviews about businesses because I am a business owner myself... and I know 'people' are responsible for their own actions. However, after numerous visits to Lowes, never being helped, and after the way they completely took advantage of my Mom through her home improvement window and door project, my money will never be spent here again. I tried getting them to help but I just get passed from person to person on the phone, the door and window installation guy is no longer there to fix what they damaged, and in-store help... sure... If I could give them a zero, I would. I ordered a chest freezer on the 1st of September; on my confirmation receipt it said it would be delivered on the 15th. I waited until the 17th to contact them about why I hadn't received my freezer. The woman who answered the phone was utterly UNHELPFUL. All she could tell me is that it was still in the regional distribution center, but couldn't give me anymore information. So I sent them an email, and someone else called me the next day, and tried to tell me that I ordered the freezer on the 8th. NOPE! So he said he'd give me a call when it was actually in so we could set up a delivery time. I missed the call telling me the freezer was in. I called them back- and I got the SAME woman as before. She again, told me the freezer was still in the regional distribution center. When I told her I had JUST received a call stating it was in, she was entirely baffled. Ten minutes later, I was finally connected with someone who knew what was going on. However, he couldn't set up a delivery time. So now I don't even know when I'll be receiving the chest freezer, just the day (two days later, instead of same day/next...). Would not recommend shopping at this lowes. read more

I have been dealing with Lowe S. Cedar store for over 13 years. After trying to deal with other box stores in the area I have found the service at Lowes to be outstanding. I have totally remodeled our home , built a wood shop on my barn, replaced porches, decks and yard projects during this time. I have found their building material to be superior to most and when there is a problem they work with me to fix it. The store manager is a hands on guy and employees are courteous and professional. I am also a military veteran and have never encountered a problem showing my military ID as proof of my service . The staff immediately thanks you for your service with a smile.Today you can have your military identification put on your MY LOWES CARD and never show an ID, I would encourage fellow vets to shop at Lowes and if have you a bad experience talk to the manager in charge of that department or directly to the store manager read more

Horrible horrible customer service!! We went into the store on February 24 and found an area rug we liked it said they had three in stock but in actuality they had zero so we paid for the rug $150.00 and were told it should be in around Tuesday didn't hear anything Tuesday so Wednesday I called they said it's on its way we ordered it well give you a call when it comes in. Friday still nothing one week from the day that we purchased it. I asked to speak to a manager he said he was going to look into it and give me a call back instead he had the person from the flooring department give me a call back and her message was that they had to order it from the grand rapids store and it was on Its Way, Grand Rapids is 45 minutes away from Lansing as of today we still hadn't heard anything so 10 days out I called today and spoke to another manager who is going to look into it they miraculously found the rug in the back room and nobody has any idea how long it's been sitting there!
