There was an older woman at the self-checkout (they don't have cashiers anymore) who asked the employee monitoring the self-checkout if someone could help her find a few items because she was visually impaired. This is the WORST home improvement store ive ever been in aside from a few employees and managers that seem to be nondescriminitory. A Doree who says she manages the customer service area is very discriminatory towards me especially lately.tonight was the worst. I asked her what managers were working tomorrow, Sunday. This is a general question many people ask. She then said shes going to write the names of the employees who are working tomorrow on the chart that hangs directly on tbe customer service wall the entire world can see! She started interrogating me asking why I wanted to know. I said I need to talk to someone. She continued to deny me acting like i had some sort of altetior motive. I think shes mentality deranged! I looked at the order picker who i think i get along with pretty well who was standing to the right of me watching the entire conversation. I said, "Shes part of the other team" meaning shes one of the not nice mean bad people. I was very upset at this point as this is blatant discrimination and deliberately hindering me from shopping there! She has absolutely NO RIGHT to be asking me anything or blocking me from knowing what managers will be working the next day! The entire WORLD will see just as soon as she writes the names on the wall chart the entire WORLD can see!... last week she degraded me when I tried to have a purchase fixed. I had paid cash but wanted to use a store credit card I had with money left on it. It started ok till she saw what I paid for it stating, "That price is RIDICULOUS!" very degradingly! Meaning somehow I was not entitled to pay what the price was. I told Matt another employee at the customer service desk what she said. She turned and said it again but meaner then spun directly around blocking me.... She and another customer service employee who does her hair constantly, I don't her name, were talking about me and Matt the other week. I had stopped at the customer service desk to talk to Matt quick. As I started to talk to him i saw directly behind him at the other end of the desk this woman with dyed hair spin around, trying to hide what they were saying and started talking to Doree who was facing her but hidden. A second later Doree looks around the woman over at us. They clearly were gossiping about me or Matt but didn't want us to know. These 2 women are very hateful backstabbing people. They bring their hate and backstabbing to work. They should be fired! There's NO ROOM for such immature childish displays like this! Then there's Gary the lumber manager who decided hes going to screw with me because he hates me. I've had verbal arguments, in front of many people, with this bully several times over his bullying and outright LIES! He is part of this mentally disturbed group if hateful backstabbers they employ at the Rohrerstown Lowes. Ive had literally NOTHING but problems with him! He decided afyrr taking that position i was never going to pay the price i used to pay before he took over for lumber in the outside cart that was damaged. It was and always was 90% off because not only was it damaged but rained on causing alot of it to get ruined. It was worthless but some pices were usable at parts. When I tried to buy some wood from the cart he started arguing with me claiming an outright LIE that it was always 50% off that it never was more since he started working there 2 years ago. Ive been shopping there for years. Longer than this guy has worked there. What he said was and is AN OUTRIGHT LIE! Gregg the one manager and the previous supervisor in lumber i forget his name but hes now in flooring as supervisor always knew it was 90% and I literally NEVER EVER had a problem with this! AGAIN this is discrimination to the highest degree! These 3 people are the worst employees i have ever dealt with at a home improvement store! Oh another thing thats happened lately I firmly believe is part of this deliberately trying to stop me from getting items at discounted prices marked on products they deliberately started marking up the mistinted paint thats has literally ALWAYS been $15 for gallons and $50 for 5 gallons. All of a sudden along with this deliberate hate towards me by Doree and her accomplices they upped the prices on many of the gallons 10 or more dollars and used the 5 gallons 25 to 50 or more dollars than used to be. The work was very shoddy and some pieces started lifting up just a couple of months after installation. We had a terrible experience with the Lancaster PA East Store, contracted the to install 5 new interior doors. When the doors arrived the installer indicated that all of them were the wrong size after some measuring of openings and going back and fourth to his truck he indicated that he could install the bathroom door even though it was off size a tee bit. Unfortunately for me I said please do. What a s**t show. The install looked like my 8 year old grandchild did it. We have brand new laminate flooring that I specifically spoke to the store, the installers company and the installer about (please do not damage) that was damaged. There was custom cabinetry near the door, instead of removing a door and drawers he used a nail gun near the cabinet and damaged the door and the drawer fronts. It looks like the nail gun he used was a framing gun, huge holes, pieces cut short, when he trimmed the door he caused breakout on the bottom. It was/is horrible I called their installation sales phone that they give you to call if there are issues. What a nightmare. I reported the issues and 7 days later they sent 3d party out to verify the problems, who sent his report to the install company while I was standing next to him (he was appalled). To shorten this a bit I had numerous conversation with the installation sales customer service over the next month, every time I called I had to called I ended up talking to someone different. I was wanting a FULL refund and never having to deal with them again. The only thing they offered was to send the same company out to fix it and install the other doors, which I refused. I demanded to speak to a manager and actually spoke to 2 who never followed up. Its almost impossible to get to the store manager at the store and you cannot get the email address. I found him and the installation sales district manager (DM) on LinkedIn. the store replied he was on vacation and would forward my concerns to the DM of installation sales who I never heard from. I was about ready to find a lawyer and take them to court when I stumbled across the Lowes Executive Customer Service Team "execustservice@lowes.com". I emailed this sad story to them and had a all back in a couple of hours and this lady was AWSOME. After hearing my story she indicated she gave me her direct line (which actually worked) indicated she would follow up on a certain date after reviewing all of my complaints and she did! She called with an offer of a full refund and some additional cash to repair damages, which I countered for some additional cash, and we made a deal. A few days later the store called me and indicated that the check was there for us to pickup. ***update*** I wish there was an option for ZERO stars. After a poor buying experience, the delivery was just as awful. Missed the original delivery date, had to reschedule, called two days later and confirmed the wrong date and just made the delivery window on the day of delivery. Stupidly I purchased my new washer/dryer from Lowe's. Again, MISTAKE. NEVER will I purchase from here again. Placed my order, confirmed next day delivery and that night called because something went wrong and I had to replace. I was called at 7:53 a.m the next morning and given a window between 10-12 p.m. A second call was received at 9 a.m. to confirm the same window. Noon comes and goes. I call the store and told that my delivery was scheduled for the next day. After being transferred to a "manager," I was then told that there was no order. Transferred again and NO call back. Tweeted @lowes and was given a canned apology, asked for my number to "make it right." That was a week ago and never did receive that call. Shame on you Lowe's. Very disappointed in my experience tonight. My fiancé and I have been shopping for a refrigerator for about two weeks. We were at this same location last weekend and came back tonight because the special pricing was ending today. My fiancé took the extra step in checking online earlier today to confirm that it was in stock (two left). No one greeted us and we had to approach an employee to tell them that we wanted to purchase a fridge. The woman must have been filling in or being trained. Another employee came over, started barking orders at her and telling her that what she was doing was wrong. All of this was happening in front of us. He proceeds to tell us that they do not have any in stock, that we would need to drive to another location because they are all independent. No offer to call, no offer to see when more might be available, no apology, nothing. Very rude and no help whatsoever. At that point we decided to go to customer service. We were then told that if they do not have one in stock they would call the other store for us and we could purchase over the phone. After a few minutes she let us know that they DID have what we wanted in stock, placed our order and delivery date. Are you kidding me?? Was this even the same store?? So does that mean the first guy didn't even look? Are there two different databases?!?! You really need to train your folks on what customer service is. It goes a long way. When given the choice I will choose Lowe's over the Home Depot any day! Lowe's has better quality and a better stock of inventory, employees that although are not contractors do have general knowledge of construction and repair, and overall better prices. I remember years ago going to Home Depot to buy a ceiling fan, with their sales flier in hand, only for them to say they wouldn't honor the advertised price because it was "optional"....really? What retailer does that????? The manager even backed up the cashiers statement. That experience alone left me scorned. A call to the Home Depot's home office did nothing but cause further aggravation. I also appreciate that they have wider isles, a brighter overall feel, and doesn't feel as cluttered. This Lowe's was a little difficult to maneuver compared to other Lowe's and other hardware stores. I generally love Lowe's but am giving this one an A-ok rating for this reason. I went to Lowe's to look for an oil to use on my butcher block table. I walked in at the Customer Service counter where two representatives were standy by. I asked if Lowe's carried an oil for butcher block tables and both of the workers dismissed my question (practically before I was finished speaking) by saying that the store does not carry the product. I felt that they really brushed me off. I also was looking for a desk lamp, so I continued into the store anyway. Ten feet away I saw the paint department and asked Tom there if Lowe's carried the product I was looking for. Tom pointed to the shelves where I had several options. I alerted him that Customer Service isn't aware of the product, asked him to advise them, and purchased my oil. I went elsewhere for the lamp. Lowe's apparently does not need my business. Two different employees noticed my quandary and offered help immediately. In addition, as I was wandering the store after locating my item, several other employees stopped to offer their assistance. I recently purchased a refrigerator, microwave, oven and dish washer from the Rohrestown lowes in Lancaster PA and scheduled and paid for delivery and installation for each. The delivery and installation of the first 3 went awesome. All installers were friendly and did an excellent job. The refrigerator installers even went above and beyond by taking the doors off and putting back to get our old refrigerator out the door and into our garage. All 3 arrived on time and worked quickly. Great experience. Then came the dishwasher. What a debacle. The installers (Hall and Sons Plumbing) gave us a window of 2-6pm on Tuesday, only to call us at 4:30 that day to cancel because they were tied up with another customer. The only day they could offer was the very next day from 8:30-12:30, otherwise we would need to wait 3 weeks for the next available date. My wife had already taken off work the previous day from 2-6. She could not take off again and neither could I on short notice. So my father agreed to take off and be there for the installation. My father waited around until 12:15 when the installers finally arrived. The first thing they did was go right to the existing dishwasher to check it out and immediately said "we have a problem. We can't install this today." They claimed because we have granite/stone counter top they would need a special bracket to finish the job so that the dishwasher was safely secured. My Father asked why didn't have that bracket. They said "your son was supposed to buy that." My father is very knowledgeable and handy, he could tell they were lying. He asked to see the purchase order. They showed it to him and it clearly said on the order "stone countertops. Bracket needed." He pointed this out to them and asked why they didn't have it. They continued to say your son should have purchased it when he bought the dishwasher. My Father, still trying to make this happen however he could, volunteered to go buy the bracket on the spot (we live 5 minutes away from lowes). They told him that wouldn't work. That the bracket Lowe's has is not any good anyhow..."Your son needs to order a specific bracket off of amazon. hopefully he has amazon prime. But we can't install this today." So my father asked if they could install it and he would put the bracket on later. They claimed they could not do that as they did not want to be liable for it being unsafe and falling on a child. In fact my current dishwasher was installed incorrectly without the bracket and is dangerous. My father then demonstrated how impossible it would be for that to happen even without the bracket. It began to get heated and words were exchanged on both sides. They left in a huff and called my father an "a**hole." I got a call from a woman named Tesha that was the manager of installation some 5 minutes after this all occurred. I was called in the middle of my work day and told by her point blankly that my installation was cancelled, that there was an altercation and my father "had struck the installer with the dishwasher door and cussed them out." She said our residence was being flagged as a "hostile work environment" and will no longer be able to have the dishwasher installed. I can pick up the dishwasher and install it myself or get a refund. I pleaded with her to hear our side of the story and she refused. She did not even want to hear anything I had to say. She simply said we are banned from receiving installation of the dishwasher. My father claims their story is completly fabricated. He did argue with them because they were refusing to install the machine, but that's the extent of it. Amazingly, my father, who was allegedly hostile and who was there only because the installers canceled last minute the day before, could still have Lowe's install a dishwasher at his residence. But I cannot because my account has been flagged. How absurd. After calling back many times, speaking with numerous Lowe's employees and even pleading with the Store manager where we purchased the Washer (His name is Dennis). Nothing has been done. Our dishwasher is still at Lowe's waiting for us to pick it up. We have paid for it and paid for installation and delivery. Dennis, the store manager was totally apathetic. He did not even seem to care to hear my story or exert any kind of effort to do anything to resolve it. He kept repeating the refrain that he has nothing to do with installation and that the installation manager decided your residence is hostile and the decision is final. I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life. I have been a loyal Lowe's customer for the last 15 years and use them for nearly all of our home improvement needs. No longer. I went in there today to get my reimbursement, for spilt paint in my car because the lid was not closed correctly when I purchased it last week. The manager that i spoken with at the time said it was fine and helped me out no problem. Unfortunately I didn't receive the same service today from a higher up manager. The manager I spoke to (her name was AJ) had a terrible attitude towards me, when I was being mature and trying to handle the situation with respect. Online Order pick-up area looked like a dozen tornadoes just ripped through the area, and it wasn't well-marked...someone scribbled "Pick-up Here" on a piece of cardboard and taped it to the wall! Two employees were busy chatting amongst themselves before they realized I needed to pick-up my order. They then told me that "that guy over there" will help me, which he did. Couldn't find my order, which easy to believe considering the clutter. Finally found it and carried it out...dropping it on the floor. Mind you, this was a heavy-a$$ pressure washer. He didn't even offer to help load it onto a cart! A passing customer saw me struggling with it and helped me load it onto a shopping cart...no flatbeds in the area. Then to top it all off, one of the employees who were too busy chatting to help me, ran into my leg with a steel flatbed cart...drawing blood! Didn't apologize, just muttered "Oops". The whole process was painless and quality of workmanship was excellent. The installers were on time and very professional. The cost was actually less than others and work guaranteed. Lowe's sold me a dishwasher then pulled a bait and switch. Then pulled another switch for an inferior dishwasher with their installer who said that the dishwasher we ordered would not fit. lowe's has permanently lost a customer to home depot. went here looking for flooring. was assured by flooring staff that it is a very quick process and their install company comes out and within a day or two will give a quote a day or two after coming to your house. we paid $35 for this "service." nearly 2 weeks after our initial visit to the store we received an over-the-phone quote - not even on paper! - that was astronomical (even higher than a local business). not to mention that the person who took the measurements in our home had such a poor attitude it was pathetic. this person literally complained that he had to work so late on a friday night (5 pm is late??). to ask people to pay $35 for a quote that should be free and then delay receipt of that quote for nearly two weeks is unacceptable. additionally, employing contractors who are unable to form complete sentences and whine about 5pm appointments is ridiculous. so we went to home depot and purchased a nearly identical product and used a 10% certificate and are having an independent contractor do the work for us (at a savings of nearly $500 off lowe's quote). read more

Instead of cutting a key from a new plug, the associate placed the key back in the machine, compared it to the original and told me it should work fine. It doesn't. I have generally preferred Lowe's but, after that experience, am taking my current requirement for insulation and plywood to Home Depot. Tried to order something online and it said it would ship that night. It then changed to 2 weeks later but by that time I would no longer need it. I called and cancelled it and then received an email confirming that it shipped. I tried calling customer service and they said I had to bring it back to the store. The whole point of ordering online was to avoid going to the store and having to get it the product to fit in my car. I then called the store and the manager promised to have someone pick it up that night. Needless to say they never showed up. I had to have someone with a truck take it back to the store for me. Not the first time they've screwed up my order online. Will never shop there again!!! The Lowe's on Rhorestown Rd in Lancaster has always had iffy service...but this last time I went was absolutely atrocious! No help what so ever...I understand there may not have been enough staff...I don't mind waiting...I pushed the button for help...10 minutes goes by...I push again...then I hear someone push the button where I was saying that help was there...no one came to help what so ever...I gave up and purchased the items I already had...then the check out girl at the self checkout was beyond rude...I mean how does that happen? Its self check out...but they managed to make it a miserable experience even at self check out....ridiculous! I went to Home Depot on Fruitville Pike instead....it was lime night and day on the customer service! Lowes used to be a hardware store. Now they're more interested in peddling flowers and Christmas decorations, than real hardware and lumber. There are rarely sales and I frequently have to return shoddy merchandise. They do readily accept returns without a hassle, but they need to hold their suppliers to higher quality. read more

I came in for a simple buy. I needed rock wool insulation to finish off my house. After buying two different types I went up to the register to check out just to find out one of the bags was not on their registry. They didn't have it up in their system so for half and hour at least 3 Lowe's employees including manager and customer service talked blatantly right in front of me on how much to charge for this item that they apperently don't carry but is just what I i needed. After checking me out and charging 62 dollars for the one bag which is just obsurd and telling me I got a discount I went to my car and checked for my self. I found the same bag online for 52 dollars from the manufacters site What's worse it was 52$ on the Lowe's website for that same product online. Customer service was terrible except for one nice employee who chatted to me while all this was happening. They lied straight to my face and wasted my time. I had also come from Home Depot where I recieved a wonderful discount on that same item because it was the last bag Vs Lowe's making me waste my time extra money mixed in with horrible customer service and pay extra for something that should not have been.
