For years I've said this is the unhelpful hardware place as no one ever has a clue when I go in there. Between the nasty paint guy and everyone else looking like a deer in headlights over simple questions, I'm convinced they exist only bc of how far everything else is. When I was in over the weekend, I was told I could bring in my rewards coupon to have adjusted since I left it at home. Today, when I went to do that, they told me they would have to charge my account again for the entire purchase amount. I came in looking for two specific things, a kitchen cabinet knob and geranium. They had neither. The store is huge compared to every other Ace Hardware but I'll stick to my smaller store. J & W Hardware does an outstanding job in having everything you need in a local hardware store and much more. The Staff is sometimes more than the customers in the store and are knowledgeable about their departments. The prices are very fair and in some cases much better than the large stores especially when you factor in your time and gas to drive an extra 10 to 20 miles. J&W Hardware is a diamond in the rough . The mom and pop stores hardly exist anymore. At J&W you get prompt customer service as soon as you walk in the door! A local hardware with enough staff always ready to stop what they are doing to assist a customer. They are currently in an expansion mode and have literally busted out walls to add new merchandise in every category. Their motto seems to be a "little bit of everything" and I can't think of the last time they didn't have something I needed. You may not find five different brands to choose from but you probably will find what you need. They even have a section geared to the mobile homeowner. All Spring and Summer, mostly outdoor plants, can be found at competitive prices that always look healthy along with everything else you will need for lawn and garden care. Outside, local vegetables and fruit are sold in season. Ace Hardware has a loyalty card that offers nice savings on a regular basis. I've been to just about every hardware store in the state, and J&W is by far superior all of them. They are always well staffed and have knowledgeable personnel in the proper locations. I was amazed by the vast inventory they have as well. I rarely have to go to Lowes or Home Depot anymore if that tells you anything... J&W gets 10 stars in my book! read more

This is how hardware stores should be. The shelves are crammed with parts. The floor staff is super knowledgeable about repairing things. If they don't happen to know, they admit it and find someone who does instead of bs-ing you. They assume you are compitent, which is the opposite of some places. Amazing variety of things in a small store. Prices reasonable , I noted they were 10% lower than the Lingelstown Ace. If you are looking to put up Martha Stewart swags, go somewhere else. If you want to stop a dripping sink or fix your hot water heater for less than $50, this is the place. They also have lumber, drywall, garden stuff for bigger projects. read more

This is the greatest hardware store, like, ever. Incredibly helpful and available staff and very large selection of virtually everything you could possibly need whether you're a homeowner like me or a small contractor. I've been going there for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend the place. read more
