Mother Hubbard's Custom Cabinetry designed a kitchen for us within our newly created open floor…read moreplan. Based on our needs we requested 2 appliance garages, a large countertop pantry cabinet, an integrated fridge and dishwasher, an island full of drawers--only drawers. The challenge of the project was to create an island that could support the open floor plan and was still functional and good looking. They succeeded. MHCC also designed a trash cabinet, a spice drawer and 4 other drawers with dividers, a cabinet with roll out drawers, a cabinet tower for microwave and wall oven. We wanted painted cabinets and John at MHCC helped us find the 2 perfect paint colors. We are very pleased with the amount of work space we have, the size of the island, the flow from work station to work station, the color scheme and quality of our sold maple cabinetry. Talk to John at MHCC for your kitchen reno.

After two months of searching countertop companies, I discovered "Next Day Marble and Granite" (…read moreNDMG) on 17th Street in downtown Harrisburg.I found the wearhouse easily, just a few blocks off the ramp from 83S. The fenced-in warehouse had a lovely showcase area and offices. I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable professionals. Their selection of stone in their warehouse is beautiful and large. The pricing is competitive. The salesmen were knowledgeable in construction, so that was a big plus. I found this business on a Wednesday. On Friday we signed a contract and, then, by the next business day, Monday, we had countertops in our home; they also disposed of the old. Every aspect, including plumbing, was managed. NDMG is worth the trip to Harrisburg.

I found myself at Lowe's at the pickup spot where I normally do curbside pickup to get items for work. My order was ready the day before, so I went there roughly around 9 AM, bright and early. I ended up waiting in my car for over 30 minutes just for one person to bring my items out to my car, putting me behind schedule and late for my job that was planned ahead. Now, this is a perfect scenario to show how one person's bad habits, poor example, or laziness can affect other people--it's like a chain ripple effect. Most people today think that they don't matter or that their job isn't important, but everyone has their own role inside this universe. This person at Lowe's put me an hour behind schedule. Now, I did go ahead of time, and I always plan ahead because the 7 Ps have been instilled in me--and this was extra material I needed to keep things in stock. Let's not forget how this one person delivering items late affected not only myself and my business, but also the customer I had to meet. The moral of the story is: do your damn job, because someone is depending on you, and what you do every day does matter.

Well, mistake after mistake, miscommunication after miscommunication it wasn't done until this past Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Nov 23. I had to file a complaint with the PA Attorney General because there were constant mistakes and miscommunications. And he never apologized for any of it. I realize that things come up and if it would have been done done a little after Labor Day that would have been fine, but there was about a period of a month that nobody showed up to our house to do work and he left a Port a John toilet in front of our house. I had to contact him several times before he had it removed. Some of the workers and subcontractors even said over the summer that things were not communicated to them from Craig and his company. I had to constantly contact him to see when things would be addressed and often he would take days to get back to me and then lie about when it would get done. He also ordered us the wrong vanity at first and forgot to order mirrors until October. I have pictures showing sloppy work, a copy of complaint with PA Attorney General and many emails and texts to prove all of the miscommunications. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
