There is just something about this store, like it strips the employees (sorry, Team Members) of their souls when they punch in. The way they look away when someone is looking for eye contact or assistance, the way management rushes through the zones like roaches scattering from a sudden flood of light in the room. It's the shoppers who act like blind drones pushing their carts through the aisles asserting their Right-of-Way through customers. There is an extra layer of sadness when I see a palate of goods leftover from the overnight just sitting in front of the items I need to get or blocking an entire aisle altogether. Other Targets are fine. I don't expect to be treated well or even acknowledged when I go in to pick up stuff off a shelf. I prefer to order online and have somene load my stuff into the car so I can avoid the self-absorbed yoga moms and their self-hating soon-to-be-ex-husbands. That's not Target's fault but it is their target audience: people too ashamed or proud to set foot in a Walmart to pay less. This location just sucks the life out of you, like the overhead lighting is just a bit harsher and the air a bit staler. It's like the shift huddles that block the aisles focus on stripping the Team Members of their dignity by claiming that they are only there because of bad life choices and that they should sweat a blood oath to the brand that pays to keep their families alive and sheltered. I don't expect a department store to be an amusement park, but I expect that I should at least walk out still in a good mood. read more

Q Today I called Target North, Harrisburg Pa. @ approx 12:25p and the telephone operator that answered connected me to the Camping Dept. as I asked her for a lunch bag.. That Dept didn't answer, which lead to the call ending.. I immediately called back to try again at which time, the telephone operator did NOT answer the call.. Then wondering why I couldn't get thru, i called back again, and this time she ended the call on her end, and did not answer my call AT ALL!! i tried twice more and she just kept from answering my call! Yesterday, my 10 year old and I went to target specifically to get a toy that he was saving up for but noticed on the Target app that it was on sale and now he had enough money to purchase it. We went to the store and when he was at checkout the toy price scanned at $5 dollars more than he had. My son asked the man why it was more expensive than the price on the app. He opened it up and showed him the price. Julian, was helping us at checkout and kindly explained that it was for circle card members but he couldn't pull up my account. He said to my son who was almost in tears. "It's okay, I will give you the price as shown on the app and also because we are having a 20% off toy sale, I will take that off too." Julian was a teenager and gave us better customer service than I have experienced in a very long time. I stopped at this Target to kill some time while my friend was at an appointment. It was probably one of the quietest target's I've ever been to - but it made shopping better. It was incredibly clean. It was well stocked. The cashier was nice upon checking out. My only complaint is that I walked by several employees who didn't make it a point to ask if I needed anything, but instead, talked busily amongst themselves. read more

Normally making a 150 mile round trip for a few Christmas shopping items would seem insane (and it is) but we were going to be in the area anyway and our local Target sucks especially around the holiday season in terms of keeping things in stock. Enter this location and with a few clicks on the Target site the appropriate items were isolated, purchased and ready for pick up the next day when we got to the store. Customer service had a fairly long line of people all doing for the most part the same thing that we were doing but thankfully enough staff was present so as to make the wait non-interminable. Got surrounded by asset protection because I asked customer service if they were gonna sit out the sports cards that they took from the vendor and said they will sit out randomly. Got treated like I was stealing and was not given 6 feet and felt threatened. They asked me to leave while yelling at me that they didn't have to tell me anything and to get out. This is very unprofessional. They could have said they are sold out and That's the end of the conversation. But instead wanted to make a seen in front of customers then walk me over to customer service continue to yell and make a scene then tell me they make the rules and want me to leave. The problem with the cards are ppl in the hobby can't buy them for retail because of scalpers and or employees telling their friends they are stocking shelf's. Has grocery items too which I found to be on the higher side. Customer service is average. The people at the checkout counter didn't see to know much of the location of items and pointed me to someone else. Has a Starbucks inside as soon as one enters. read more

At Easter they didn't cancel an order I travel between 2 States And placed an order that they messed up so I canceled it and then placed it again with shipt Only to have target double order since they use Shipt and tell me it was my responsibility to bring duplicate food products back. That that's a huge no. Especially with email confirmation of the difficulty they were having changing my password and cancelation of the order. Plus travel, holiday. Now July. My daughter just did some shopping there on Monday and thought she would surprise me with cheesy scallop potatoes in my refrigerator when I got to Harrisburg only for me to look tonight, and she just bought them on Monday, They both had use by dates long long gone. 1 July 5th and 1 July 13th. DON'T FOOD SHOP HERE. Who knows how long they sat at a cart at the return counter or what might have been done to them. I called the Department of Health because of elderly and kids getting sick and I know how mgmt bonuses work because I was a merchandiser with a homeland security clearance. Walmart was called out big time at one point. But even the most basic food rotation of expiration dates obviously doesn't take place here so if you decide to buy food at Target proceed with extreme caution but I would highly recommend NO. Anyone else have flashback to the Tylenol poisonings???? Who knows what people do to food. Then return. Plus lack of rotation is like someone cleaned their fridge and went eh we didn't use these. I went to check out at register 5 which was open and all the employees just watched me stand at the register with my items waiting to pay and no one ever came over to help. I looked at each of the 3 employees standing in the front of the store and they clearly saw me and not a single one came over to do their job. I proceeded to walk to the self checkout Lane and as I walked over I said to the employee standing there "I guess no one wants to work tonight". There was no acknowledgement from her. I paid for my things and left and the employees were talking among themselves but no one so much as said a word to me. No thank you no nothing. I have to say, I have been to my fair share of Target stores in my day. I was first introduced to them when I lived in CNY, and then the super Target in San Antonio was our go-to shopping center for...um...everything. They even sold Einstein Bagels in their bakery department! Ok, ok, I digress. Enough about memories of past Target stores, and onto this one. This store is remarkably clean and the staff has always been helpful AND pleasant. Usually you get one or the other; but this staff has always treated me exceptionally well. When I ask for something, instead of pointing in a 180 degree general swipe of their arm, they walk me to the product. I have also had them show me how to more efficiently use the cartwheel app to save money on items that I was purchasing. In terms of the store, it is very well kept. For me, it seems like this management staff knows how to manage a store because their standards seem to be very high and regularly upheld. I have always been very fond of Target as a brand. From their overall store setup, to their atmosphere, to the service, and even their products, I typically always find what I am looking for and it is for a good price amidst well-trained employees. Excellent experience at this store, especially with a sales associate named "Mariah" who was one of the friendliest employees I met, and was so new she didn't even have a name tag. (I had to ask.) Sabrina was also very helpful. Only 4 stars though because the Target in-store merchandise finder thingie was pretty useless. And there was no place in the Target site to give props to the helpful people mentioned above. Oh Target, how do I love thee let me count the ways... So what if you're slightly more expensive than Wal-mart. . . you're cleaner, far more beautiful, and you contain products that I actually would buy. A trip to Target always inevitably ends up costing me 50$ more than I wanted to spend, but that's ok, because they have everything! Seriously, if you can't find it at Target - you really don't need it. Most of their drugstore items (the primary reason I go) are priced a few dollars below Rite Aid prices which rocks my socks because when I think of how much I would have spent at Rite Aid - my last 50$ of stuff at Target is kind of free in a way. Magazines and video games galore! And who can forget - ARCHER FARMS ENERGY DRINKS! The grapefruit one is my favorite energy drink EVER! Plus, they're really good at opening up extra registers so you never wait behind more than like 1 or 2 people. read more

It's got to be the worst people to order anything. The phones don't work, the kids that you try to talk to don't know anything. Tried to order and pickup yesterday never accepted my card waited 2 hrs for someone to call, no one called, so I called and they said they don't know what happened but we will give you another no to call. So I did and a non citizen from another country answered the phone that I could not understand. This is the USA. So I never got answere. Ordered from Wallmart. Never again From Target. I have been a fan of Target for about 6 or 7 years now when I shopped at it for the first time when we were stationed in Tennessee. I buy everything for my kids there and the clothes are cute, well made and inexpensive. Even if Wal-Mart were closer I would make the trip to Target. Wal-Mart should change its name to Hood-Shop. Every time I have gone there, which is a total of 2 times since we moved to Harrisburg, I brought along my mace. Anywho, this Target is great. The employees are very friendly and helpful. One of my children has severe Asthma and the Pharmacist recommended some things that I could do that may help along with his medication. I spoke with his Pediatrician and we started him on an allergy medication, his asthma is less severe and if it were not for the Pharmacist we may not have realized one of the main sources of his attacks. I go to Target at least 2 times a week. My husband accuses me of "forgetting" things on purpose so I can go back alone and get more stuff. I think the only thing that could make this Target better is if it were a Super Target that way I could get my groceries there too. read more

I love that it is such a clean place. And they are good at opening extra registers if needed. The staff there seems to be very friendly. However it is not without the bad. Most importantly (for me anyway) is that they tend to be a bit more expensive than i like. I admit, I am a cheap, frugal bitch. Which is why I tend to go elsewhere. Plus if you are fat, then forget getting much in the way of clothing here. For starters their sizes run small. So that makes it harder to find something that fits. Plus the men's department only goes to 2x, so if you are a fat man, then you are screwed. Plus see my first bad thing: too expensive. The clothes are just so outrageously priced here, at least in my opinion. Like i want to pay $30 for a bathing suit bottom or top. Hell I have issues paying $15 for a whole bathing suit (see comment about cheap and frugal). So usually the clothes I buy here are on clearance. I am going to say that this is my go to since it is so close to my home.. I will say that for almost all of my experiences I have had they have been great.. The one that sticks out to me though was last week I was using self checkout(which by the way is a new addition and seems to need to be worked out) and I rung up a sonicare toothbrush that it said in the aisle that it was $49.99 when I rung it up it was $79.99 when I asked the attendant about it I said this was $49.99 back in the pharmacy aisle.. She said "So you don't want it?" To which I replied not if its $79.99.. I did not appreciate not having her check it out or anything as I would have liked to buy it but not at $30 more than it was marked as back in the section.. I'm not a huge Target shopper, however if I need something in a hurry we will make our way over to the local Target, as it is closer than Wal-Mart and less crazy. I love their decor selections. Totally my taste! My kids always seem to be able to find something to make themselves happy. The clothing aren't my idea of 'a great find'. They have a nice selection of just about anything you need. This has always been a solid option for shopping in the area. It's not as nice/clean as others I've been in. But it's perfectly fine.

This Target is Heaven compared to Kmart or Walmart around the area. The store is clean, stocked, and the staff is friendly. The store was just renovated to have full groceries with produce and all now. Only reason it gets 4 stars, is that management does not seem to understand, that when the line for a register is 8 people deep, the should either look into hiring more cashiers, or bringing the stock team up and expedite the process. But I can deal with a long line to have a otherwise great shopping experience. read more

I'm sad to say this, but I think I am done shopping at Target or a least until they fix a few things. It's a shame because I love a lot of their products. I was in there the other day looking for a schwinn. That was on sale. I asked a sales person about it and was told it was no longer available in the store but I could get it online. He then told be if I opened a credit card I could say money and not have to pay for shipping. So I opened one and went up front to order the bike. They then told me that not only I couldn't use the temporary one to order online even in the store, but also anything over $ 25 is now free shipping!!!! I was then stup I'd and order with my other credit card anyway because I knew I might not find this deal later because their contract with Schwinn is no longer. Within an hour I found a better deal on a schwinn at walmart and tried to call and cancel the target order. I was told that they couldn't cancel it and that when it comes I could bring it to the store and return it for a full refund!!!! Why should I be inconvenienced this way when I called within an hour?!
