Smart move on the owners part to rename and rebrand as Home Decor Warehouse because they sell so much more than just baskets and fake flowers! Although they are right on route 72 the location is rather off the beaten trail. They share the building with the gem store but otherwise are the only retailer nearby in an area that's fairly rural. Don't avoid shopping here because of the distance or you'll miss out, especially if you are into the current trend; modern farmhouse. I'm pretty sure they would make Joanna Gaines proud! Anything and everything modern farmhouse you'll find, plus a few surprises for indoors and out. Make sure you allow yourself ample time to go up and down each isle because there's always something new to discover. Prices aren't deep discount but they are reasonable and the inventory is unique enough that if you see it here you won't find it anywhere else. They also still sell faux flowers and greenery but the majority of the store is household items and decor. You'll also find some furniture pieces and they do have a room set up of outdoor room displays with everything for sale. Even if you don't buy the way they do the displays will give you tons of inspiration for your own home. This past Sunday I stopped in and their outdoor planters were 50% off. I'm talking high quality glazed ceramic pots in all sizes. The selection was picked thru if you're looking for a pair but they still had a variety of individual sizes. The staff is always very pleasant too and will be happy to help you load your car if need be. The older woman at the front cash register is the owner's mother and very personable and also eager to assist. WORTH NOTING: Closed Mondays.

Bottom Line: Charming historic stone house and barn with all sorts of furniture, home decor,…read morewomen's clothing, accessories, lighting and such. The Olde Mill House Shoppes is two different buildings - the old stone house and an old barn - that have a wide selection of stuff that women love to shop like rugs, furniture, lighting, home decor, kitchen gadgets, pantry items, women's clothing and accessories. They also have a floral department that I think makes wreaths. My favorite part of the shoppes was the old stone house. Aside from admiring the lovely architecture I enjoyed looked at kitchen gadgets, kitchen decor, pantry items like bread mixes and such. I loved the creek of the floors too. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. Aside from the above, there was plenty more to look at like some linens, wall art, candles, etc. Overall, this was a fun place to explore and a great place to stop in while in Lancaster County.

While I felt some prices were a tad high ($12.95 for mall store jeans), others were low ($12.95 for never worn CK flats). While I only meandered around the front of the store I would say alot of the styles were more catered towards a sophisticated, mature professional woman. However I didn't venture beyond the first few racks. Overall I think they are very picky with what they accept and it shows. I would consider this consignment shop more upscale and selective than others and wouldn't mind coming back to shop for myself. They obviously take great pride in their business. Aside from clothing I saw accessories and jewelry and believe they offer additional departments as well. As a seller I would consider the process cumbersome with little reward. My transaction was for a straight buy out and pennies on the dollar was paid out with what I considered too much paperwork for the merger amount I received. Honestly for a buyout you would do better having a yard sale. Some of my items were purchased for .60 cents. I don't know anything about their consignment terms which is more common and what they prefer but it would be worth looking into if your stuff is immaculate. So while I won't return for a buyout, and probably won't return to shop for everyday wear, I would come shop for any special occasion or high fashion needs.

Smucker Gardens knows how to kick off fall in style! My first visit was for their 2025 Mum…read moreFestival, and let me tell you--it was everything I hoped for and then some. The Scene: Easy to find on GPS, well-signed from the road, and plenty of parking in the gravel lot. Their greenhouses are massive and overflowing with plants, and inside the main building you'll find home décor, gifts, and seasonal goodies galore. Prices lean a touch higher than some other local greenhouses, but given the location and setup, it felt fair. The Mum Festival: Perfectly organized. Food trucks up front (grab a bite first, wander later--smart!), vendor tents sprinkled throughout, live music filling the air, and kids' activities that looked like pure joy. It was a warm, sunny September Saturday--ideal fall fest weather. The Adventure: While mums and pumpkins were great for the vibe, my main goal was something a little...unexpected. The ad mentioned camel rides. Yes, CAMEL rides. At a mum fest. At 40 years old, I had never ridden a camel, and I wasn't about to miss my shot. I called ahead to confirm that the "kids activity" was indeed open to grown-ups, too. Fast forward to the fest--I see the sign: "Camel Rides $10 Per Person." Ten bucks for a once-in-a-Central-PA-lifetime adventure? SOLD. Nervous, excited, and slightly in disbelief, I climbed aboard. And it was everything I hoped it would be--totally worth the thrill (and the bragging rights). The Food: Yummy eats from food trucks and coffee from Brewboxx to keep the energy high. Perfect fuel for festival hopping. All in all: a fun, unique, and memorable event. Smucker Gardens is worth a visit on any regular day--but during Mum Fest? Add it to your fall bucket list.
