Leabrook Farms is a place I could see from 283 but never really knew how to get there to access it. It's a few miles off State Rd., on Leabrook Rd, and you can't miss it. A storm was brewing that day when I arrived so I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked. Every plant was 50% off, even ones already on sale were not excluded from the sale. They had annuals, perennials, succulents, houseplants, and arrangements. I was in awe. Tables and tables of plants in good condition, small and large + a few greenhouses. I filled a wagon and had I had a larger vehicle would have gotten more. Some of my favorite scores were the succulents, a decent size, all $1 and some change after the discount. I also scored a massive mostera plant for less than $10 that at Lowes for that size sells for $64. In hindsight I wish I would have bought them all for resale and made a few bucks. While many of the plants were labeled, there were many more that were not. Since I'm looking more for low light houseplants, a label identifying the plant and care instructions would have been helpful for many of the items I bought. The plain (Mennonite) employee there said they came from an auction and she didn't have any information. Also some of the prearranged plants in ceramic containers had chips, and or appeared to be used, like they picked them up at a thrift store. Not that I'm opposed to that, but some weren't in the best of shape. I made it out right before the storm, barely, with a car full of plants in tow. I would visit them again even at full price, but most definitely at their 50% sale. Since they are plain owned and operated no Sunday hours.

I have a difficult time keeping my wallet closed when I shop here. The grocery store offers very tasty takeout meals. The gift shop features endless items in every category and price points. I could kick myself for not buying the gorgeous Foxtail fern that I saw yesterday and hope that it's still there when I return tomorrow. That's doubtful because it was priced low and it was of premium quality. Lastly, customer service at this location easily earns five stars.

This year we decided to get it delivered since we no longer have access to a truck. Delivery was only $15 extra. I'd like to say that process was seamless but sadly it wasn't. After seeing Landy Shade deliver mulch to 2 of my neighbors and seeing them place it on the street suddenly when I suggested it there was a problem. Ultimately, after speaking with a manager they did honor my request. However the whole process took longer than it should of. I wasn't home when it was delivered and honestly it didn't appear to be a full 3.5 scoops. I called and a manager was to stop by and look but he never knocked so not sure if he did. In the end I had to trust that they did drop off the 3.5 scoops I was billed for. 4 stars because we do like the rich color of their black mulch and never had a negative experience before this one. Their mushroom soil is also an asset to any garden. I would however caution anyone that gets delivery to make plans to be home to: 1) check quantity 2) confirm where it should be dropped. Moving forward we'll borrow a truck and only do pickup.

I have preferred this company as opposed to larger floral shops or national companies, whose flowers did not last as long and we're not as fresh and sometimes even cost more.
